Abstract

Clove leaf oil (Syzygium aromaticum L.) is obtained from distilling clove leaves. This study aimed to examine the effect of clove leaf oil on the preservation of milkfish meat. Clove leaf oil was obtained by steam distillation and purified by a simple distillation method. The number of microbes was determined using the total plate count (TPC) method, while the organoleptic test used a level of preference for color, smell, texture, and taste. The results showed that the pH and the number of fish meat bacteria at a concentration of 8%, when left for one day, were 6.61 and 2.46 × 10-7 CFU/mL, while the three days was 7.2 and 2.98 × 10-7 CFU/mL, a concentration of 10% in 1 day which was 6.64 and 2.03×10-7 CFU/mL while the three days was 7.25 and 2.54 × 10-7 CFU/mL and a concentration of 12 % in 1 day was 6.67 and 1.83 × 10-7 CFU/mL while three days was 7.57 and 2.07 × 10-7 CFU/mL, besides that from organoleptic test data the panelist preference rate was more significant in the concentration of 12 % then the concentration of 10  and 8 %, respectively. The results showed that at a concentration of 12%, it was a good concentration to be used as preservation compared to a concentration of 10 % and a concentration of 8%, both for a 1-day and a 3-days. This shows that the higher the concentration of clove leaf oil, the greater the ability to preserve fish meat.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze students' misconceptions on Acid-Base Solution after applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted with interactive multimedia in grade XI at SMA 4 Palu. This type of research was a quantitative descriptive study with a total sample of 1 class, namely class XI Science-2, with 33 students. The research instrument used was a reasoned multiple-choice test accompanied by a Certainty of Response Index (CRI) consisting of 15 items. The results obtained the average percentage of students' misconceptions in Problem Based Learning (PBL) assisted with interactive multimedia in Acid-Base Solutions before and after the successive application was 42.9% and 21.8%. Thus the application of the PBL model reduced student misconceptions by 21.1%.

Abstract

Patchouli ( pogostemon cablin benth ) is one of the essential oil producing plants which are quite important, known as Oil Patchouly. This oil pick strategic potential in the world market which is used as a binder fragrance in perfumes, cosmetics, pharmaceutical industry, and other industries. Buol which aims to determine the quality of patchouli oil. Samples is patchouli oil yield Buol. Parameters in meticulous ie specific gravity, refractive index, acid Numbers, Numbers Esther, and Solubility in Alcohol. The technique used is the technique of sampling area. The results showed that the Weighted Value Type 25oC / 25°C for samples A = 0.997 to 1.000, B = 0.962 to 0.965, C = 0.995 to 0.998 D = 0.980 to 0.983, and E = 0.968 - 0.971. To value Bias Index ( nD20 ) ie sample A = 1.45505 to 1.45705, B = 1.45506 to 1.45706, C = 1.45504 to 1.45704, D = 1.45503 to 1.45703, and E = 1.45523 to 1.45723. Numbers for acid sample value A = 2.805, B = 3.366, C = 2.5245, D = 3.0855 and E = 3.6465. For esther numbers are sample values A = 15.4275, B = 5.61, C = 12.6225, D = 4.2075 and E = 19.635. And last is the determination of solubility in alcohol that sample A = 1 : 2, B = 1 : 1.7, C = 1 : 0.9, D = 1 : 1, and E = 1 : 3. These data show patchouli oil production Buol area has good quality in terms of acid value, ester number and solubility in alcohol is the average Indonesian National Standards meet the standards and ISO. While the specific gravity and refractive index still does not meet the Indonesian National Standard and ISO.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to compare the learning outcomes of student in SMA Negeri 8 Palu using the cooperative learning model between jigsaw and NHT (numbered head together) on the stoichiometry. This research using a quasi-experimental design with factorial 2 x 2. The population of this study is all student of class X SMA 8 Palu with academic year 2015/2016 which consists of four classes. The sample of this study consists of two classes, namely class XB with amount of 16 students (experimental class) and class XC with amount of 17 students (control class) which was determined by purposive sampling. Data was collected by using test instruments, namely an achievement test that contains the stoichiometry material. The examination of data was conducted by using statistical analysis t-test two sides and one side (right side) non-parametric or Mann-Whitney U test. The average score of the learning outcomes of student by using the jigsaw type was (78.00; SD = 13.63), and by using NHT type was (70.47; SD = 16.51). Based on statistical analysis of the hypothesis test for two sides, it was obtained a value of 0.195 Asymp sig (2-tailed) and was obtained a value 0.204 Exact Sig (1-tailed) of 0.204, both of datas were at the rejection area of H0 which was a significance value greater than 0.05 (P> 0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that there was a difference in learning outcomes using the cooperative model jigsaw type with NHT type, furthermore the type of jigsaw better than the NHT on the learning outcomes of students of stoichiometry in class X SMA Negeri 8 Palu.

Abstract

Poboya River estuary that known to have been contaminated with heavy metals, one of them is metal lead (Pb). This is because the high human activity in the surrounding waters hed, which may be the source of the entry of heavy metals into the estuary waters. Poboya River estuary has many kinds of marine life, including fish such as Belanak (Liza Melinoptera). Fish used as an indicator of contamination that occurred in the waters. This study aims to determine how much accumulation and metal concentrations of lead (Pb), which accumulates in fish living Belanak Poboya estuaries. The method used is the gravimetric method for determining water content, biomass and low ash content, while the analysis of the samples in this study using Atomic Absorption Spectrometry instrument (SSA). The results showed that the water content mobtained at 55.830%. While the levels of biomass were obtained for 89.200% and ash content of meat samples obtained at 10.790%. While the results showed that the accumulation of the metal lead (Pb) in Belanak fish average of 1.746 ± 1.673mg/kg. That exceeds the maximum value of the metal Lead in food in accordance with ISO 01-2729.1-2006, ie 0.4 mg/kg.

Abstract

Estuarine waters is the meeting place of various estuaries to the open sea, which causes the estuarine water vulnerable to pollution by heavy metals. The source of pollution in the waters may come from gold mining activities, workshop waste, agricultural waste, motor vehicles activities, and domestic industrial activity. The pollutant materials may vary and one of which is heavy metal such as Pb dan Cu. Estuarine water of Palu Bay extends along a semicircle around the city. The bay is also the source of income of the lical fishermen. One of the commodity fish in the water is yellow goat fish (Upeneus sulphureus).This study aimed to determine the levels of lead (Pb) and copper (Cu) containing in yellow goat fish (upeneus sulphureus) that live in the water of the Palu gulf, Central Sulawesi Tengah. This study started by making field notes on the observation around Palu Bay. The next stage is to do the yellow goat fish sampling (Upeneus sulphureus) in the Palu Gulf then continuing to conduct the research in the chemistry Laboratory in Teacher Training and Education Factulty. To measure the level of lead and copper metal in yellow goat fish (Upeneus sulphureus) in Palu Bay, the researcherof, employed Direct Spectro tool. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively, which compared to the standard quality of food by the General Director of Drug and Food Control No. 03725/B/SK/VII/89 and ISO 7387:2009. The results showed that levels of lead metal in yellow goat fish (upeneus sulphureus) were 0,567 mg/kg, meaning that the levels of lead metal has exceeded the threshold value of the specified foods (0,3 mg/kg). While the copper metal content in yellow goat fish (Upeneus sulphureus) was 2,237 mg/kg and still below the specified threshold (5 mg/kg).

Abstract

Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah apakah hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA dapat ditingkatkan melalui penerapan model pembelajaran inquiri di kelas IV SDN Inti Tomoli. Adapun tujuannya adalah meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA melalui penerapan model pembelajaran inquiri di kelas IV SDN Inti Tomoli. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK), yang dilakukan dalam 2 (dua) siklus. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SDN Inti Tomoli berjumlah 37 orang, terdiri dari 12 orang putri dan 25 orang putra. Data diperoleh dari tes hasil belajar siswa dan hasil observasi aktifitas siswa aspek afektif dan psikomotor serta lembar observasi aktifitas guru. Hasil analisis data tes evalausi belajar siswa, diperoleh jumlah siswa yang tuntas pada siklus I sebanyak 23 orang dengan ketuntasan belajar klasikal (KBK) 62.3% dan daya serap klasikal (DSK) 65.0%. Hasil tersebut mengalami peningkatan pada siklus II, dimana jumlah siswa yang tuntas menjadi 35 orang dengan persentase KBK sebesar 94.6% dan DSK sebesar 79.5%. Peningakatan juga terjadi pada hasil observasi aktifititas siswa aspek afektif dimana pada siklus I diperoleh persentase sebesar 58.9% pada kategori cukup, meningkat menjadi 82.4% kategori sangat baik. Aktifitas siswa aspek psikomotor pada siklus I diperoleh sebesar 51.1% kategori cukup meningkat menjadi 79.7% kategori baik. Aktifitas guru mengelola pembelajaran pada siklus I sebesar 64.5% kategori cukup meningkat menjadi 95.2% kategori sangat baik. Adapun kesimpulan yang dapat diambil adalah sebagai berikut: model pembelajaran inkuiri pada mata pelajaran IPA dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas IV SDN Inti Tomoli. Abstract

Permasalahan yang diteliti dalam penelitian ini adalah apakah model inquiry dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajar IPA di kelas IV SDN 27 Ampana. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa  pada mata pelajaran IPA di kelas IV  SDN 27 Ampana dengan menggunakan model inquiry. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan  kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus. Adapun tahapan dalam penelitian ini meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Data yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini meliputi hasil belajar siswa, hasil observasi aktivitas guru dan siswa diambil dari lembar observasi kegiatan guru dan lembar observasi aktivitas siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada tindakan siklus I yang tuntas secara individu berjumlah 19 orang dari 30 siswa sehingga diperoleh ketuntasan belajar klasikal 63,33% dan daya serap klasikal sebesar 69,33%. Pada tindakan siklus II diperoleh ketuntasan klasikal 80% dan daya serap klasikal 76,74%. Hal ini berarti pembelajaran pada siklus II telah memenuhi indikator keberhasilan dengan daya serap klasikal minimal 65% dan ketuntasan belajar klasikal minimal 80%. Berdasarkan daya serap klasikal dan ketuntasan belajar klasikal pada kegiatan pembelajaran siklus II, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan menggunakan model inquiry dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA pada siswa kelas IV di SDN 27 Ampana.

Abstract

Durian seeds (Durio zibethinus murr) have gotten less attention in the past. Therefore, it is necessary to treated them into culinary items like flour. The durian used in flour production was a local durian from Tolitoli and Donggala Regencies. As a result, a study was conducted to determine the quantities of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, manganese (Mn), and zinc (Zn) in durian seeds flour. The composition of durian seeds flour from Tolitoli regency obtained was 59.2% for carbohydrate, 3.24% of lipids, 8.75% of proteins, 10.1 mg/kg of Mn, and 6.30 mg/kg of Zn. While durian seed flour from Donggala Regency obtained was 41.76% of carbohydrate, 3.24% of lipids, 10.93% of protein, 7.1 mg/kg of Mn, and 1.22 mg/kg of Zn. According to these results and the National Standardization Agency of Indonesia, durian seed flour can be used as an alternative local food ingredient to fulfil the body's demands for carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, manganese, and zinc. Furthermore, durian seed flour, when processed as a food ingredient, can be used as a replacement for wheat flour

Abstract

Research has been carried out on the level of hardness and the degree of acidity (pH) in groundwater in Mapane Tambu Village, Balaesang District, Donggala Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the concentration of the water hardness level and the degree of acidity of the water, complexometric method was used to determine the level of water hardness using three samples and obtained the results of sample A 15.61 mg/L; sample B 9.40 mg/L and sample C 19.22 mg/L, with a total hardness level obtained an average value of 14.74 mg/L classified in the low hardness category. Then the degree of acidity (pH) was measured using the electrometric method with a (pH) meter with three variations of sample results and the results obtained were sample A 7.713; sample B 8,511; sample C 6.916. The determination of the degree of acidity (pH) of the water obtained in the three samples was in accordance with the regulation of PERMENKES Number 492/Menkes/Per/IV/2010 concerning the quality of clean water which was in the pH range of 6.5 - 6.8
