Abstract

This paper in aimed to explain the culture aspects in literary work through three different kinds of literature (Indonesian literature, British literature, and American literature). The researcher uses descriptive qualitative research design. The data are collected by reading activities. The result shows that the aspects of human lives can be seen in cultural aspects of literary library work.

Abstract

This paper is aimed to explain the cultural aspects in literary works through three different kinds of literature (Indonesian literature, British literature, and American literature). The researcher uses descriptive qualitative research design. The data are collected by reading activities. The result shows that the aspects of human lives can be seen in cultural aspects of literary works. The first is social relation that was found in the novel Weton Bukan Salah Hari by Dianing Widya Yudhistira, Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens, and a short story Superman and Me by Sherman Alexie. The psychological aspect was found in the novel Nayla by Djenar Maesa Ayu, Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens, and a short story A Rose for Emily by William Faulkner. The own-individual habit was found in Chinese literary work entitled Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden, The Art of Virtue by Benjamin Franklin, and Superman and Me by Sherman Alexie. The religious aspect was found in the novel Ayat-Ayat Cinta by Habiburrahman El Shirazy, Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens, and (Deliverance) from Another Sore Fit by Anne Bradstreet. The value aspect was found in the novel Laskar Pelangi and Sang Pemimpi by Andrea Hirata (education), Harimau! Harimau! by Mochtar Lubis (moral), Kambing Jantan by Raditya Dika (entertainment), and Civil Disobedience and Resistance to Civil Government by Henry David Thoreau (critic). Abstract

Data statistik dari Satgas Penanganan COVID-19 Indonesia menunjukkan kenaikan pasien yang signifikan. Akan tetapi, kesadaran masyarakat untuk mematuhi protokol kesehatan semakin berkurang dan abai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji persepsi dan aksi masyarakat pedesaan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari selama pandemi COVID-19 di Pacitan dan faktor yang mempengaruhinya. Banyak riset yang mengulas tentang sikap masyarakat dalam menghadapi pandemi, namun penelitian ini berfokus pada masalah masyarakat pedesaan karena mereka menganggap wilayahnya aman sehingga menyepelekan protokol kesehatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif kualitatif. Data diperoleh dengan melibatkan 51 responden dari 51 dusun di Kabupaten Pacitan. Responden tersebut bertindak sebagai observer bagi lingkungan masyarakatnya. Satu orang responden mengamati 10 orang di sekitar tempat tinggalnya. Sehingga jumlah sampel penelitian berjumlah 510 orang. Data diambil menggunakan lembar observasi yang dilaporkan secara online menggunakan google form. Data dianalisis dengan cara menghitung hasil angket, menganalisis data, menyajikan data, melakukan telaah mendalam, dan membuat kesimpulan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa persepsi dan aksi masyarakat di pedesaan dalam menghadapi pandemi COVID-19 menunjukkan tingkat kesadaran, kepatuhan, dan konsistensi yang masih rendah. Penelitian menemukan hanya 13.7% masyarakat yang konsisten menggunakan masker terutama ketika beraktivitas di luar rumah. Penerapan physical distancing menunjukkan sebanyak 56.9% masyarakat masih beraktivitas dan berkumpul di luar rumah. Pada aspek ketersediaan sarana cuci tangan menunjukkan ada sebanyak 31.4% rumah tidak menyediakan sarana cuci tangan. Berbagai faktor dan persepsi yang mempengaruhi persepsi dan aksi masyarakat di masa pandemi mencakup kurangnya pemahaman akan COVID-19, rendahnya partisipasi masyarakat untuk ikut serta dalam upaya pencegahan COVID-19, kondisi ekonomi masyarakat dan tidak adanya aturan yang mengikat.

Abstract

This research aims to develop and evaluate a game-based learning model as an effort to increase the interest and learning achievement of grade 5 students at SD Negeri 2 Mujing. The research method used is Class Action Research (CAR). This research involves active participation of students in using this learning model. The research results show that the game-based learning model significantly increases students' interest in learning, measured through participatory observation and questionnaires. Apart from that, there was an increase in student learning achievement as measured through initial, formativee and summative knowledge tests. These findings provide a positive contribution to the development of innovative learning strategies at the elementary school level, especially at SD Negeri 2 Mujing.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the use of flashcards as a teaching tool or media to improve English vocabulary acquisition at SD Negeri 2 Sambong. The qualitative description method was used to describe the use of flashcards in the context of English language learning at the school. This research was conducted by collecting data through direct observation, and documentation related to the use of flashcards at SD Negeri 2 Sambong. Flashcards help students in remembering, adding new vocabulary and understanding what they do not know in an interactive and fun way. The interaction between teachers and students was also seen to be more active and engaged during the use of flashcards. However, some constraints were also identified, such as the limited number of human resources who lack the understanding of English vocabulary and also the diversity of students' learning styles. This research provides a deeper understanding of the use of flashcards as a tool to improve the mastery of English vocabulary at SD Negeri 2 Sambong. The results of this study can be a reference for teachers and schools in developing effective learning strategies to improve students' mastery of English vocabulary at SD Negeri 2 Sambong

Abstract

The importance of exciting learning media cannot be ignored in education. This research aims to develop Android-based learning media to improve fourth-grade elementary school students’ vocabulary mastery. Besides, this also finds out the feasibility and effectiveness of the application. This learning media uses the ADDIE development model, which involves five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research results show that the application developed, called the LEVO App, can significantly improve students’ vocabulary mastery. Trials were carried out at several stages, including one-on-one, small group, and field trials, with student response results. Apart from that, the results of the pre-test and post-test show a significant increase in students’ vocabulary mastery after using this learning media. Validation by media experts and material experts also indicates that this application is very suitable for use as a learning media. Thus, it is hoped that developing Android-based learning media can be an effective and efficient solution for improving elementary school students’ English language skills.Keywords: ADDIE Model, LEVOApp, Vocabulary, Teaching Vocabulary

Abstract

The main objective of this research is to design and develop a quartet card game that integrates Pacitan’s local wisdom to enhance students’ English vocabulary. Mastery of English is crucial in today’s globalised world, yet Indonesian students’ proficiency remains low. Effective and engaging learning materials, like the quartet card game, can help improve English skills. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, which includes five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The analysis stage involved needs assessment and learning context analysis. The design stage created an initial quartet card game based on Pacitan’s local wisdom. In the development stage, a prototype was made and tested. The implementation stage used the game in classroom learning. The evaluation phase assessed the game’s effectiveness by measuring students’ vocabulary enhancement and their responses. Results showed that the SIKU card game effectively enhanced students’ English vocabulary and increased their motivation and interest in learning English. The positive response from students indicates that integrating local wisdom into learning media makes the learning process more engaging and meaningful. This research contributes to education by developing innovative, local wisdom-based learning media, enriching learning materials, and strengthening students’ cultural identity.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan dan mendeskripsikan kelayakan buku panduan ice breaking untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa sekolah dasar kelas tinggi pada pembelajaran IPA. Metode dalam penelitian adalah (R&D) yang diterapkan menggunakan model ADDIE. Subjek penelitian mencakup 3 guru kelas dan 23 siswa kelas 4, 5, dan 6 SD Negeri 3 Sirnoboyo. Sampel uji coba menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa buku panduan ice breaking dikatakan “Sangat Valid” oleh ahli media dengan rerata 4,44, ahli pembelajaran rerata 4,33, dan ahli bahasa rerata 4,25, hasil penilaian angket respon guru 100 kategori “Sangat Baik”, buku panduan ice breaking berbasis sains dikatakan efektif memperoleh rata-rata N-Gain score kelompok kecil 58,8% bermakna “Cukup Efektif” dan kelompok besar memperoleh skor 72,3% bermakna “Efektif”.
