Abstract

Anemia merupakan masalah kesehatan masyarakat yang masih umum dijumpai. Sebagian besar anemia pada ibu hamil disebabkan oleh defisiensi zat besi. Penelitian ini secara umum bertujuan menganalisis kecukupan dan bioavailabilitas asupan zat besi pada ibu hamil di Kota Tangerang. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross-sectional. Wawancara mengenai konsumsi pangan dilakukan kepada 91 orang ibu hamil pada bulan Februari sampai Juni 2015 menggunakan food frequency questionnaire semi-kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 97,8% ibu hamil memiliki tingkat kecukupan zat besi yang berada dalam kategori kurang. Seluruh ibu hamil memiliki bioavailabilitas besi dalam kategori rendah. Terdapat hubungan signifikan antara frekuensi konsumsi nasi (p=0,000), kacang-kacangan (p=0,000), dan lauk hewani (p=0,028) dengan tingkat kecukupan zat besi ibu hamil. Frekuensi konsumsi lauk hewani (p=0,006), sayuran dan buah-buahan (p=0,004) secara signifikan berhubungan positif dengan bioavailabilitas besi ibu hamil, frekuensi konsumsi nasi (p=0,000) dan kacang-kacangan (p=0,000) secara signifikan berhubungan negatif dengan bioavailabilitas besi. Penelitian ini menunjukkan pentingnya pendidikan gizi tentang konsumsi gizi seimbang selama kehamilan dan perlunya suplementasi besi sebagai bagian dari program pencegahan anemia defisiensi besi pada ibu hamil.

Abstract

Prevalence of anemia in adolescent girl was still high. The iron supplementation program for improvingthe iron status, but this program is not always successfully to reducing prevalence anemia. The objective was toanalyzed factor that influenced succesfully of iron supplementation program at the adolescent girls. A quasi experimentpre-post intervention design was applied in female student at Bogor City between September 2016 untilJanuary 2017 run by the Health Office of Bogor City. A number of 172 adolescent girls (aged 10-18 years) participatedin the study from 4 school in Bogor City. Blood was collected through fingerthick and analyzed with cyanmethemoglobinmethod. The result showed that prevalence of anaemia (Hb <12g/dl) was found to be 20.7% anddecreased by 5.2% after four month of supplementation. The logistic regression analyses showed that status beforesupplementation was factor that affect improve of haemoglobin level (p<0.05;OR=3.52;CI95%=1.40-8.85). Theiron supplementation program in Bogor city did not effective.

Abstract

Sago is one of the local food Maluku society that has the potential to be developedin support of diversification in Maluku in particular and Indonesia in general. Associatedwith the potential of existing sago, the role of traditional sago processing is becomingincreasingly important in processing sago into products that are more varied to support thediversification of food. This study aims to uncover the opportunities and challengesassociated with the development of traditional sago processing in Maluku in relation to thediversification of food by taking in some sites of traditional sago-processing centers inCentral Maluku regency. The results showed that there are some opportunities that areopen to developing the traditional sago processing, but these opportunities will be used ifaccompanied by efforts to address the challenges faced by the traditional sago processingin producing processed products sago.

Abstract

The feeding practices of infants and children (PMBA) at the age of 6-24 months should be done correctly and appropriately. Errors in feeding in this period may cause malnutrition and stunted. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of counseling by Posyandu cadres on changes in infant and child feeding practices (PMBA) done by mothers among infants and children aged 6-24 months. Quasi-experimental research design with one group pre-post test design was applied and envolving 78 mothers of infants and children aged 6-24 months. Data on feeding practices of infants and children were obtained by interviewing mothers using a structured questionnaire covered data of mothers, babies and children, health status and growth, and the practice of breastfeeding and complementary feeding as well as hygiene were also collected. PMBA practices were then being scored covered all indicators, then categorized into 3 groups : being good if the score = 80, enough 60-79.9 and less if the score is 60. T-test and Wilcoxon rank test were used at the significance level of 0.05. The average value of infant and child feeding practices by caregivers before counseling was 70.0 and increased to 75.2 after counseling. PMBA practices of mothers categorized as good increased from 25.3% to 46.7%. This study showed that there was an effect of counseling on the improvement of feeding practices for baby by mother/ caregivers (p 0.01). In conclusion counseling carried out by Posyandu cadres may improve the practice of PMBA by mother for their infants and children at the aged 6-24 months.

Abstract

LIFE STYLE AND NUTRITIONAL STATUS AND THEIR ASSOCIATION WITH DIABETES MELLITUS ON WOMEN IN JAKARTAThere is an increasing trend in the prevalence of diabetes mellitus in both developing countriesincluding Indonesia. The research aimed to analyze the relationships between life style, nutritionalstatus, and socio-economic and demographic factors with diabetes mellitus. Data used for thestudy are secondary data from the Basic Health Research (Riskesdas 2007), which applied across-sectional study design. The number of samples obtained 5702 adult women with inclusioncriteria aged 20 years and not pregnant. The results show, the risk factors for diabetes mellitusare age 45 years on women with obesity (OR=13.0); age 45 years on women without obesity(OR=9.3). and sugary food consumption. The results imply the important of managing diet inpreventing diabetes mellitus for women in Jakarta.Keywords: life style, nutritional status, diabetes mellitus, obesity

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to determine food consumption patterns, eating habits, and its effect on the density of nutrient intake in Kasepuhan Ciptagelar a traditional village community in West Java. Cross–sectional design was implied for this study. A total of 65 eligible households participated in the study. Household’s food consumption data which were used to calculate nutrient density score and density of nutrient intake were collected using 24-hour recall. Nutrient density scores were calculated by using Nutrient Rich Food Index 9.3 to compare nutrient intake of food with Daily Value based on FAO standards. Stepwise linear regression analysis showed that socio-economic factors most affecting iron density was age of husband. Meanwhile, food habits factor significantly affecting protein density was meal frequency. Food preference significantly affected on calcium density. Other socio-economic factors including family size, household income, and the amount of rice in rice barn; and socio-cultural factors of food taboos have no significant effect on density of nutrient intake. Nutrient intake from more variety foods should be increased to fulfill nutrient adequacy of individuals, especially girl adolescent and pregnant mothers who observed food taboos in this community.Keywords: density of nutrient intake, nutrient density, traditional communityABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pola konsumsi pangan dan kebiasaan makan serta pengaruhnya terhadap densitas asupan zat gizi pada masyarakat Kasepuhan Ciptagelar di Jawa Barat. Desain penelitian ini adalah cross-sectional dengan total subjek sebanyak 65 rumah tangga. Skor densitas zat gizi pangan dihitung menggunakan metode Nutrient Rich Food Index 9.3. Analisis menggunakan regresi linear menunjukkan bahwa variabel umur suami berpengaruh terhadap densitas asupan zat besi rumah tangga. Salah satu variabel kebiasaan makan yaitu frekuensi makan rumah tangga berpengaruh signifikan terhadap densitas asupan protein rumah tangga, sedangkan preferensi pangan sayur-sayuran berpengaruh signifikan terhadap densitas asupan kalsium rumah tangga. Aspek sosial ekonomi rumah tangga lainnya meliputi besar keluarga, pendapatan perkapita, dan jumlah ketersediaan padi di dalam lumbung padi; serta salah satu aspek sosio-budaya pangan meliputi tabu makanan tidak berpengaruh terhadap densitas asupan zat gizi rumah tangga. Asupan zat gizi dari pangan lain sebaiknya lebih ditingkatkan untuk memenuhi kecukupan zat gizi individu, khususnya individu yang mempraktikkan tabu makanan pada masyarakat tersebut.
