Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the level of government readiness at the kelurahan level in Ternate City in dealing with disasters by taking samples from 10 kelurahan as representatives of 77 kelurahan. This research was conducted with a qualitative approach, the interactive model. The results of the study revealed that the resilience level of the 10 urban villages was still in the low category. This is because there are only 3 sub-districts that are in the medium category, 5 sub-districts, and even 2 have not been categorized. This finding reveals that the level of village resilience to disasters is in the low category contributing to the weak handling of the COVID-19 pandemic in the City of Ternate in their respective environments. As a result of the government's lack of planning and preparation in dealing with the fast-spreading epidemic, the handling is very slow. Even impressed. The lack of strong disaster management institutionalization for the wider community causes the level of public understanding of disaster management to be low so that the level of awareness and sympathy of the community towards other communities is also low. This condition encourages the emergence of public attitudes that are contrary to the protocol for handling the covid pandemic. Not having made disaster management one of the government's priorities, disaster management, including COVID-19, always seems slow

Abstract

The Halmahera Walking Shark (Hemiscyllium halmahera) is an endemic fish in the Halmahera Sea. This species is distributed and found in the Kao Bay sea. The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) data shows that the Halmahera Walking Shark is in the Near Threatened status. Protection is carried out to protect the population, therefore scientific data and information are needed. This study focuses on the biological structure of the Halmahera Walking Shark population in Kao Bay sea. Data collection was carried out exploratively in coral reef, seagrass, mangrove ecosystems and by-catch. Samples were taken for morphometric data, weight and sex. Morphometric data were analyzed to obtain cohorts, separation index, class intervals, length-weight relationships and condition factors of walking shark. The result were found to be 33 individuals (13 male and 20 female). Morphological characteristics based on morphometric variables found no significant differences. Analysis of the cohort of the Halmahera Walking Shark (H.halmahera) found 3 groups namely the juvenile, mature and old age phases. The separation index shows that individuals come from different populations based on length. Growth pattern of the Halmahera Walking Shark (H.halmahera) is negative allometric. The histogram of the frequency distribution between classes found small to large size structures with different relative frequency percentages. The condition factor found that the body proportions of the Halmahera Walking Shark (H.halmahera) were in the plump category. All of this information is important to provide scientific data specifications to population. Keywords : Endemism, Halmahera, Morphology, Island, Semi enclosed

Abstract

The Halmahera Walking Shark (Hemiscyllium halmahera) is an endemic marine biota in the Halmahera Sea. This species has a local migration pattern and is territorial. The distribution of this species is in the intertidal area to a depth of 10-15 meters. Previous studies have shown that this species is spread across several islands in the North Maluku Islands. Maitara Island is a small island located between the North Maluku archipelago. The Halmahera Walking Shark species is also found on this island. Information on the Halmahera Walking Shark species is not fully documented. The purpose of the study is related to biological information and emergence points (emergence points) in the Maitara Island Sea. Data collection was carried out on coral reefs, seagrass and mangroves. Samples were captured and morphometric measurements, weight and sex observations were taken. The sea area where the species was found was used to obtain coordinates for the emergence point. An analysis of length-weight relationship data was carried out to see growth patterns. The study found that morphometric measurements varied among individuals, although there were general similarities. Sexes were found in pairs (Male and Female), indicating that proportions and mating were still normal in nature. The habitat of this species is found in the mangrove area, coral reefs, and seagrass, thus describing that there is an association in nature. The emergence point shows that the Halmahera Walking Shark is found along the coast of Maitara Island although the frequency of the number is different. The length-weight relationship found a negative allometric growth pattern. Information on biological aspects and emergence points is important, to be used as a reference for migration areas and habitats for the interests of species, waters, and ecosystem conservation. Hubungan panjang berat menemukan pola pertumbuhan allometrik negatif.
