Abstract

The commonly known natural dye substance processing for traditional clothes, such as batik and tenun (woven cloth) is fermentation. The fermentation process can specifically be continued with extraction to produce indigo paste. The process can be done mechanically, i.e. by stirring process, and chemically. In order to accelerate the production, manual process of aeration can be substituted with jet-spray aerator. The aerator prototype which has been developed is acrylic aerator tube with diameter of 240 mm and thickness of 5 mm. The tube was made 1 m long to provide with a sufficient space for indigo foam. Its bottom part is completed with spiral air hose having five small holes of 0.2, 0.4, and 0.6 mm diameter uniformly located along the height of solution in the tube. The aerator was designed for the 10 litters of fermentation solution of 1 kilogram indigofera leaves. Based on the mass of indigo paste produced, the optimum working condition of the aerator is achieved on 3.8 m/sec air velocity and supply pressure of 2 bar with duration of 60 minutes. The aeration test indicated operational characteristic was quite good, i.e. Oxygen Transfer Rate (OTR) of 3.6 kg/hour, Aeration Efficiency (AE) of 4.8 kg/kWh and factual Oxygen Transfer Efficiency (OTE) of 44%.

Abstract

The present transport activities cause negative effects in the form of various kinds of diseases in the community. The government in this case, it makes use of the guidelines Noise Reduction Building (BPB) to reduce traffic noise. BPB in the design of Highways made ??of konblok ALWA (Artificial Low Weight aggregate) with a height of 2.75 meters was built along the road at a distance of 5 meters from the edge of the pavement. In this study, the noise level will be analyzed without and with unobstructed BPB. This study began from site selection studies, problem identification, goal setting research, development BPB, measuring noise levels without and with BPB analysis of the data and draw conclusions. From the analysis of the results obtained by calculation that the path chosen as the object of study, namely Jalan Uluwatu II Jimbaran without BPB has a noise value of 73.23 dB (A). While the values ??obtained BPB 61.85 decibels A, the value of this noise then most of the raw noise threshold has been exceeded so that some kind of designation of the area should be kept lying on the edge of the pavement. From the calculation of the distance from the edge of pavement to reduce noise levels in order to be secure appropriate noise threshold obtained for the allotment of residential, hospitals, schools and places of worship should be within 24.29 meters from the edge of the pavement. For government offices, public facilities should be located at a distance of 6.79 meters, while for offices, commerce, industry, services and stations could be placed as close as possible but still within the protection of BPB.

Abstract

Tires are a very important component of a vehicle, a variety of charges are imposed on the tires when the vehicle is stationary or moving. The various loading styles directly rest on the air trapped in the tire, and cause the rise of pressure to flow in accordance with the magnitude of the various forces it receives. The rise in tire pressure mainly occurs when the vehicle is in motion, where the tire gets a compressive force from the constant load of the vehicle and the shock load due to the road contour. High pressure and rising and falling causes heat on the tire which then heat is moved to the rubber tire layer. Besides also because of the heat when the surface of the tire tread rub against the road during acceleration and braking. Assuming that heat is the main cause of tire damage then this study will try to analyze the influence of tire rubber temperature on the ability of work to withstand the air pressure in the tire. The loading received by the tire rubber coating is assumed to be the same as the tensile test that will be applied to the tire when used. This tensile test will be carried out on the rubber tire layer by heat treatment before it is tested. Temperature treatment starts from a temperature of 30 until 110 with a range of 20 degrees, with the expected stress value and the best strain obtained at that temperature range. The tire samples used in this study are two of the most used tire brands on ankle truck trucks which are the most widely used truck types. With tensile test the tire performance is generally very good at low temperature up to 70 degree temperature, above 70 degree temperature tire performance began to decrease due to the increased strain on the tire material so that the ability to resist high pressure by the pneumatic force of the wind inside the tire decreased relative Against the increase in tire temperature.

Abstract

Penelitian ini, bertujuan untuk mengetahui prediksi jarak gangguan dan kestabilan aliran dua fase (gas-cairan) pada pipa dengan kemiringan 15° akibat penggunaan elbow 75° dari pipa vertical.Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimental dengan menggunakan pipa transparan (acryllic) dengan diameter dalam 36 mm dengan panjang keseluruhan pipa 3000 mm dari arah vertikal menuju pipa miring melewati elbow 75° (R/D = 0,7). Fluida kerja yang digunakan adalah air dan udara, dengan variasi kecepatan superficial cairan (USL) antara 0,3 m/s - 1,1 m/s (ReSL= 13497 – 49488) dan variasi volumetric gas quality (β) antara 0,03 – 0,25. Variasi ini ditujukan agar pola aliran pada pipa vertikal sebelum elbow adalah berupa bubbly flow. Visualisasi pola aliran dilakukan menggunakan high speed camera sepanjang pipa miring 15°. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada pipa miring downstream elbow 75° aliran bubbly flow yang keluar dari elbow pada akhirnya akan membentuk pola aliran plug bubbly flow atau slug bubbly flow karena adanya koalisi dari gelembung-gelembung gas sehingga akan membentuk kelompok-kelompok bubbles (bubble cluster) pada permukaan atas pipa miring. Panjang dari terjadinya bubbly flow pattern setelah elbow adalah informasi penting untuk pertimbangan desain dari sistem aliran gas-cairan, karena efek hidrodinamika dan fenomena transportasi fluida lainnya sangat mungkin bisa terjadi. Dari pemetaan terhadap panjang dari temporary bubbly flow didapat sebuah persamaan empiris untuk memprediksikan kestabilan aliran dua fase (gas-cairan) yaitu = 0,00021(ReSL + ReSG) – 0,53227.

Abstract

Human development and national competitivenes is one of the flagship programs from The Indonesian Government. Bali as one of the best tourist destination in the world is required to have an international standard tourism infrastructure. A swimming pool in a tourism accomodation is a standard facility in a tourist infrastructure. There are several types of swimming pools i.e. public swimming pools and private pools. During its development and demand, private pools develop into swimming pools with additional facilities such as warm water, which is often called a jacuzzi. Another additional facility is added pressure to the water in completing massage, fragrance and foam. The swimming pool is one of facilitity designed to hold water to allow swimming or other recreational activities. Pools can be built in the ground or on the ground as a free construction or as a part of structure and also with a common feature or a free style design. In-ground pools are the most common pools made and constructed from materials such as concrete, natural stone, metal, plastic, or fiberglass. To support comfort and satisfaction when using the swimming pool, the adequate water level in the swimming pool will be maintained by system with several supporting devices such as pumps, dirt filters and maintained at a certain level. Other things that support water quality include temperature, water turbidity, color, odor, pH, chlorine content etc.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect size of the blended learning design on increasing the Mathematical Problem-Solving Ability of polytechnic education students during the covid 19 pandemic. The study was carried out at the Bali State Polytechnic (BSP), using a mastery-experimental approach, with a pre-test post-test design of non-equivalent control. design groups. The subjects are students in the engineering field of BSP in 2020/2021. Samples were taken purposively as many as 10 classes and divided into experimental and control groups. Data were collected using a mathematical ability test developed by the researcher. The level of validity is between 0.31 and 0.89, the reliability is 0.97, the average difficulty level is 0.41 and the discriminatory power index is between 0.25 to 0.75. Data were analyzed using t test, paired t test and N-Gain score. There is a significant difference between the average mathematical problem solving ability of students taught using the blended learning model and being taught using the full e-learning model. The blended learning model is more effective in improving mathematical problem solving abilities than the full e learning model. The effect size is very large on increasing mathematical solving abilities in learning using blended learning. The implication is that the optimal application of the  blended learning design in polytechnic education during the covid 19 pandemic, the learning process becomes more effective and succeeds in improving students' mathematical problem solving abilities. ​

Abstract

Tempat pemakaman diharapkan selain tertata rapi dan bersih, orang yang berziarah bisa dengan mudah mencari makam anggota keluarganya. Selain tertata rapi dan bersih, pemakaman juga harus dalam kondisi terang pada malam hari. Saat ini, terutama kondisi Pandemi Covid-19, yang terpapar Covid-19 sehingga meninggal dunia, harus dimakamkan segera, walaupun itu saat tengah malam. Karena itu lingkungan pemakaman harus cukup terang saat malam hari. Kegiatan PKM ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan fasilitas-fasilitas yang ada di pemakaman Muslim Tunggal sari, tertama untuk fasilitas penerangan dan fasilitas air bersih. Sehingga peningkatan fasilitas yang ada mendukung kegiatan-kegiatan yang dilakukan saat malam hari. Selain itu, fasilitas tersebut akan menghilangkan kesan seram dari sebuah pemakaman dan memperindah kota Tabanan. Kegiatan ini selain melibatkan dosen-dosen yang ada di Jurusan Teknik Mesin PNB,  juga melibatkan mahasiswa  dalam pelaksanaan instalasi penerangan dan air bersih. Hasil dari kegiatan ini berupa penggantian kabel instalasi lampu, kap lampu dan lampunya sebanyak 11 titik, outdoor panel untuk power outlet  1 titik, 3 titik lampu tenaga PLTS,  instalasi air bersih beserta keran air sebanyak 5 titik, dan tower tank kapasitas 1200 liter. Hasil evaluasi kegiatan  menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat memberikan persepsi yang sangat baik terhadap pelaksanaan kegiatan PKM dalam wujud  perawatan dan instalasi penerangan PLN, PLTS dan instalasi  sistem suplai air bersih di Pemakaman Tunggalsari, sekaligus menunjukkan keberhasilan implementasi program PKM  PNB.

Abstract

Instalasi lampu penerangan jalan tenaga surya merupakan solusi energi terbarukan yang tepat untuk memenuhi kebutuhan penerangan di daerah yang jangkauan jaringan listriknya masih sedikit. Salah satu daerah tersebut adalah Banjar Jeroan Patemon Singaraja. Penerangan jalan yang buruk di daerah ini mengakibatkan kurangnya kenyamanan dalam berkegiatan khususnya di sore hari menjelang malam. Oleh karena itu, penggunaan lampu penerangan jalan tenaga surya sangat penting untuk meningkatkan keamanan dan kenyamanan masyarakat. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan instalasi lampu penerangan jalan tenaga surya di Banjar Jeroan Patemon Singaraja. Pengabdian ini dilakukan melalui tahapan-tahapan yaitu survey lokasi, perhitungan beban lampu, pemilihan komponen sistem, dan instalasi. Pengabdian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan instalasi lampu penerangan jalan tenaga surya di Banjar Jeroan Patemon Singaraja sehingga memberikan penerangan yang cukup untuk jalan dan sekitarnya dengan waktu penerangan yang cukup lama. Dari sisi ekonomi, instalasi lampu penerangan jalan tenaga surya lebih hemat biaya dibandingkan dengan instalasi listrik konvensional. Selain itu, penggunaan energi terbarukan ini juga lebih ramah lingkungan dan berkelanjutan. Kedepannya, dengan adanya instalasi lampu penerangan jalan tenaga surya di Banjar Jeroan Patemon Singaraja, masyarakat dapat lebih nyaman dan aman ketika beraktivitas di malam hari. Penggunaan energi terbarukan ini juga dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat dan memberikan contoh yang baik dalam upaya pelestarian lingkungan.

Abstract

Sampah merupakan produk sampingan dari aktivitas sehari-hari masyarakat yang bisa menjadi bencana lingkungan, namun kebalikannya jika ditangani dengan baik sampah ini bisa menjadi sumber pendapatan. Di Desa Kesiman Kertalangu, Kecamatan Denpasar Timur Kota Madya Denpasar Bali sudah melakukan kegiatan pengeloalaan sampah, yang dibentuk dalam unit usaha Bumdes yang diberi nama TPS3R Desa Kesiman Kertalangu. Sampah yang dikelola Bumdes ini rata-rata berjumlah 5,5 ton perhari yang terdiri dari 1,5 ton sampah organik dan 3,5 ton residu. Sampah diangkut dari rumah masyarakat dengan menggunakan truk sampah dan motor sampah ke unit pengolahan, yang selajutnya pengalami proses pemilahan. Untuk sampah organik selanjutnya mengalami proses pencacahan, permentasi, pemeletan dan pengemasan dalam bentuk pupuk organik untu dipasarkan kembali ke masyarakat Kertalangu dan sekitarnya. dalam setiap proses itu dilakukan dengan menggunakan 6 unit mesin pencacah, 3 unit mesin pengayak, 1 unit pencetak Pelet dan mesin konveyor 2 unit. Beberapa dari mesin-mesin tersebut sekarang dalam keadaan rusak, memerlukan perbaikan dan beberapa memerlukan proses perawatan utk menjaga kinerjanya agar menjadi baik. Untuk itu penting bagi kami sebagai pelaksana Pengabdian masyarakat untuk bisa ikut membantu mengatasi permasalahan tersebut dengan melaksanakan perbaikan sarana yang rusak, mengajarkan operator pekerja cara memperbaiki dan merawat dan memberikat alat perawatan yang dibutuhkan.
