Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of the problem based learning model on critical thinking and student learning outcomes on science subjects for grade V. The method used is a quasi-experiment with nonequivalent control group design. The population is grade V students of SD Negeri 195 Palembang, with the sample in this study were class VC with 28 students as the control class, while class VA with 27 students as the experimental class. Data collection techniques used in this research activity are tests and documentation. The data analysis technique used is the paired simple t-test. In the pretest-posttest results of the control class and the experimental class which showed a significant difference after applying the problem based learning model, the data analysis obtained was 0.000 <0.05 then H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. After conducting the test, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence on the application of the problem based learning model on critical thinking and student learning outcomes on science subjects for grade V of elementary school.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the inquiry learning model on students' learning outcomes at SD Negeri 223 Palembang. The research applied an experimental design using a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population of this study consists of all fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 223 Palembang, the research samples are classes VA and VB. The instrument used is a multiple-choice test. The data analysis techniques employed include normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing. The results show that: (1) the average pretest score of the experimental class was 44.44, and the average posttest score was 69.13. In contrast, the average pretest score of the control class was 51.76, and the average posttest score was 64.77. (2) Based on the t-test results, the calculated value ttest is 46.58 and the table value ttable is 1.701, indicating that 46.58 > 1.701, which leads to the rejection of H0 and acceptance of Ha. Therefore, it can be concluded that the inquiry learning model has a significant effect on students' learning outcomes.

Abstract

The implementation of Project Based Learning workshop in the framework of community service activieties was carried out on November 4, 2023 for teachers at SMAN 1 Banding Agung, South Ogan Komering Ulu Regency. The worshop aim is to apply the project based learning methode in subjects at the class. The training materials are: 1) Practical insight into the project based learning method, 2) How to analyze Basic Competensies (BC) that can be implemented in the project based learning model. 3) Practice selecting BC that can be aplly for project based learning methode. 4) Example of a lesson plan (RPP) that suitable for the project based learning method. 5) Examples of learning media that use the project based learning methode. 6) Exercise in preparing RPP using the project based learning method. 7) Evaluation. The results of the questionnaire that is given to training participants showed that the majority of training participants responded well to this training. According to them, the material presented is well organized, very relevant and as expected. The material provided makes it easier for them to provide understanding to colleagues to work together to improve/develop learning designs. The presenter was considered to really understand the material being presented and presented the material well and answered the participants' questions well.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran IPA menggunakan model pembelajaran make a match pada materi alat gerak hewan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Tahapan penelitian yang digunakan melalui kegiatan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi kepada guru dan siswa kelas V A. Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru dan siswa kelas V A SD Negeri 69 Palembang yang berjumlah 20 orang siswa dan satu guru kelas. Berdasarkan hasil yang dilakukan melalui observasi didapatkan hasil data observasi yang diamati peneliti pada saat guru melakukan kegiatan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran make a match pada pembelajaran IPA rata – rata nilai hasil aktivitas belajar siswa yaitu 76,78% atau termasuk dalam kategori tinggi dan hasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran make a match pada pembelajaran IPA diperoleh hasil sebesar 76,05 dengan demikian rata – rata tersebut terdapat pada interval 75 – 84 yang termasuk dalam  kategori tinggi, sedangkan hasil wawancara diperoleh informasi dari guru kelas V  A SD Negeri 69 Palembang hasil belajar siswa sudah diatas KKM, yaitu 70.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a science learning media in the form of a Scrabble board using recycled materials to enhance student engagement in the topic of the circulatory system for fifth-grade elementary students. The research model employed is Research and Development (R&D), utilizing the 4D development model which includes the stages of Define, Design, Development, and Dissemination. The overall result of the validity test for the Scrabble board learning media on the human circulatory system topic yielded a score of 93.19%, indicating that the product meets the criteria of being highly feasible and is therefore considered very valid. The overall practicality score was 94.31%, also indicating that the product meets the criteria of being highly feasible and is thus considered very practical. Based on the evaluation results from the pretest and posttest, the students’ pretest scores before the learning process showed a percentage of 62.29%, categorized as less satisfactory. Meanwhile, the posttest results showed that students had reached the target with a percentage of 90%, categorized as highly effective. In conclusion, the developed Scrabble board media is valid for use in the learning process and can improve elementary students' engagement.

Abstract

Teachers as educators in classroom learning have an important role in improving the competence of educators in creating a fun, creative and innovative learning environment. The purpose of this training is to increase understanding and practice ASIK (Active, Scientific, Innovative, and Creative) learning at SMA Negeri 1 Tanjung Raja. The training method includes theory sessions, hands-on practice, and interactive discussions involving teachers at SMAN 1 Tanjung Raja. This activity involved 31 teachers of SMAN 1 Tanjung Raja. The material presented included an introduction to the concept of ASIK, optimization of technology-based learning, and the application of interactive learning media according to the independent curriculum. The results of this training were evaluated and showed that this training succeeded in increasing teachers' understanding of the concept of creative learning and motivation to apply it in teaching and learning activities. This training is expected to be a model in supporting the improvement of the quality of education at the secondary school level and become an additional material for teachers in improving learning in the classroom.

Abstract

Fenomena banjir yang kerap terjadi di Palembang menjadi latar penting dalam upaya penguatan literasi sains di sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan e-modul interaktif berbasis materi fluida statis yang terintegrasi dengan konteks mitigasi bencana banjir. Modul ini dirancang untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMA kelas XI dengan pendekatan kontekstual. Menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE, produk diuji dari aspek validitas, kepraktisan, dan potensi efek. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa e-modul yang dikembangkan memiliki tingkat validitas sangat tinggi dari para ahli, respons positif dari siswa, serta berpotensi signifikan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, terutama pada indikator analisis dan inferensi. E-modul ini tidak hanya mendekatkan siswa pada fenomena alam nyata, tetapi juga menjadi alat bantu pembelajaran berbasis teknologi yang adaptif terhadap kebutuhan pendidikan abad 21.

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of web-based problem-solving learning integrated with PhET simulations in enhancing students' conceptual understanding and motivation on the topic of electrical circuits. Utilizing a quasi-experimental method, the study involved 30 students from a private university in Palembang who engaged in web-based instruction supported by interactive simulations and contextual problem-solving activities. Data were collected through a learning style questionnaire, a concept understanding test, and a motivation questionnaire administered via Google Forms. The results revealed a significant increase in students' post-test scores across five indicators of conceptual understanding electric current, potential difference, resistance, Ohm's Law, and circuit configuration with N-Gain values ranging from moderate to high. Notably, students with auditory and kinesthetic learning styles showed slightly higher gains. Learning motivation also demonstrated a very high category, with 88% of students indicating strong interest and persistence in the learning process. The integration of web-based platforms and PhET simulations not only facilitated flexible and personalized learning experiences but also supported students' engagement, exploration, and self-regulation. These findings highlight the potential of technology-enhanced science instruction to bridge cognitive and affective learning domains, making it a valuable approach for future pedagogical innovations in physics education.     Keywords: web-based learning, conceptual understanding, learning motivation.

Abstract

This study aims to 1) produce problem solving-based modules assisted by software tracker to improve valid problem-solving abilities; 2) produce problem solving based modules assisted by tracking software to improve practical problem solving skills; 3) find out the potential effects of problem solving-based modules assisted by tracker software to improve students’ problem solving skills. This study used research and development (R&D) methods which refer to the ADDIE development procedure. includes Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. One of the ADDIE's stages is modifying the development stage using Tessmer's evaluation. If it consists of self-evaluation, expert review, one to one, and small group. Data collection was carried out by observation, interviews, questionnaires/questions. The research subjects were class X IPA students at SMA Negeri 3 Sungai Lilin. Based on the analysis, the data is stated to be valid, practical and has the potential to influence students. The results obtained 1) The expert review stage showed the average value from the three experts, namely 91.11% for material aspects, 93.33% for media aspects, and 81.11% for language aspects. 2) The one-to-one stage has a percentage value of 84.44 % which is categorized as practical. 3) The small group students’ response questionnaire has a score percentage of 87.778% which is categorized as practical. and 4) the field test stage shows an average value of 44 .2563 in the pretest and 83.9063 in the post-test. Therefore, it can be concluded that the problem solving-based module assisted by tracker software can be stated as valid, practical, and effective to improve students’ problem-solving skills.

Abstract

The integration of local wisdom with the approach of science, environment, technology and society (SETS) in the development of e-modules of physics presents significant progression in educational methodologies. The research was conducted on students of SMAN 16 Palembang class XI.The instruments used in the research are documentation, walkthroughs, questionnaires and tests. The research results were obtained based on an expert review that the e-module developed was declared very valid with an average of 4.34 in terms of material, media and language aspects. At the One-to-One stage, an average of 4.17 was obtained in the practical category. At the Small Group stage, an average of 3.81 was obtained in the practical category. In the Field Test phase, it has an n-gain score of 0.72 which is in the high category and a percentage of 71.96% in the quite effective category. In conclusion, to evaluate the effectiveness of an e-modules of physics that integrates local wisdom and setting sets clarifies a promising methodology for contemporary education. The intersection of local wisdom and scientific education thus portrays a convincing view for future pedagogical approaches in high schools, defending the learning that is significant and impactful.
