Abstract

One of the fishery resources that have high economic value are demersal fisheries resources in deep sea waters. The results ofthis study found 22 demersal fish species with high economic value captured by fishermen. The results ofthe study found as many as 22 species, five fish stretcher 5 that can be foundin nearly all areas and fishing season. Five types of fish are: lencam (Lethrinus sp.), kurisi (Etelis spp), kerapu (Ephinephelus sp), red snapper (Lutjanus spp), bubara fish (Caranx sp). The types of fish catches were found spread around the waters of Ambon Island. The potential at Maxsimum sustainable Yield (MSY) of fish grouper (Epinephelus spp) 572.02 with 15.75 tonnes optimum effort trip. The average production of 178.919 tonnes currently. Thus the average utilization rate of groupers currently 31.27% or 68.72% untapped. If it is based on the MSY allowable catch for the fish species is 457.60 tons / year. MSY red snapper (Lutjanus spp) 146.83 wih 2.631 tonnes optimum effort trip. Average production is currently 67.704 tons. Thus the average utilization rate of the red snapper fish is currently 47.47%, or in other words the potential for red snapper untapped 52.52%. If it is based on the MSY allowable catch for the fish species is 117 464 tons / year. MSY bubara fish (Caranx sp) 270.60 tonnes with optimum effort 3630 trip with an average yield of 72.96 tons.

Abstract

Banyaknya sampah di laut dapat menurunkan produktifitas alat tangkap yang berdampak pada penurunan produksi dan pendapatan serta peningkatan biaya-biaya. Jaring insang merupakan alat tangkap yang banyak dioperasikan di Teluk Ambon dan mengalami kendala operasi penangkapan akibat sampah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis biaya dan pendapatan usaha penangkapan ikan dengan jaring insang serta menghitung besarnya produksi dan pendapatan yang hilang akibat sampah. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan April-Juni 2019 dengan lokasi pengambilan data di Teluk Ambon. Pengumpulan data melalui percobaan penangkapan, wawancara dan observasi. Analisis data secara deskriptif dan analisis biaya dan pendapatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata produksi 154 individu/trip dengan pendapatan rata-rata Rp 610.000/trip. Kehadiran sampah sangat menggangu aktifitas penangkapan jaring insang yang berdampak pada hilangnya produksi dan pendapatan. Selain menghilangkan produksi dan pendapatan, sampah juga mengakibatkan kerusakan jaring dan mesin yang dapat meningkatkan kenaikan biaya perbaikan dan perawatan sebesar Rp, 3,5 juta/tahun

Abstract

Jenis alat tangkap hilang dan teringgal di dasar laut yang paling banyak ditemukan pada ghost fishing adalah jaring insang dan bubu. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan dampak ghost fishing jaring insang terhadap sumberdaya ikan di perairan ohoi Sathean. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di perairan ohoi Sathean selama satu bulan pada bulan November sampai dengan Desember 2021 dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan cara pengamatan langsung di lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ikan yang tertangkap dengan jaring insang dasar selama 30 hari berjumlah 64 individu yang terdiri dari 16 famili, 20 genera dan 22 spesies. Pendugaan peningkatan hasil tangkapan menunjukkan bahwa hasil tangkapan meningkat secara eksponensial hingga hari ke-28. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kondisi panel jaring insang yang menurun akibat penempelan sedimen.

Abstract

Frame survey adalah metode pengambilan data dengan pendekatan sensus dan sudah banyak diaplikasi untuk mengestimasi konteks atau strata. Estimasi produktifitas hasil tangkapan pancing tonda pada strata waktu atau periode yang berbeda belum banyak dipublikasikan. Dengan menggunakan metode frame survey melalui wawancara, 5 nelayan pancing tonda di Dusun Kamiri Desa Laha menghasilkan tangkapan beberapa jenis ikan tuna seperti cakalang (Katsuwonus pelamis), putilai (Euthynnus affinis), tatihu atau madidihang (Thunnus albacares) dan tongkol (Auxis thazard). Ikan putilai memiliki produktifitas tertinggi 40 ton pada periode 2015. Semua jenis ikan tertangkap didominasi ukuran sedang (50-75cm). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa rpoduktifitas ikan tuna hasil tangkapan pancing tonda didominasi ikan berukuran sedang atau dewasa muda. Hal ini harus menjadi perhatian serius dalam pengelolaan perikanan tuna untuk menjaga kesinambungan populasinya.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze selectivity to mackerel (Rastrelliger kanagurta) encricling gill net in costal area of Ambon Island. Fish sample was taken by following the whole series of capture fisheries operation by fishermen at two units of the encircling gillnet using both 2.0 and 2.5 inch mesh size. Holt method was used to analyze and predict selectivity of the mesh size operated by fishermen towards total length of mackerel. Dominant composition of the capture fisheries was in mackerel at 69.29% of seven fish species. Distribution of total length at mesh size 2.0 inch at the middle size of 21.5 cm - 25.5 cm and 2.5 inch at the middle size of 22.5 cm - 31.5 cm. Mesh length tended to be normally distributed, while length proportion for large size was higher in mesh size at 2.5 inch. For capture possibility at proportion 50% and optimum (100%) at mesh size at 2.0 inch was 19.9 cm and 21.9 cm, while mesh size at 2.5 inch was 25.4 cm and 27.4 cm. It is recommended to use minimum mesh size at 2.5 inch towards the resource of mackerel in coastal area of Ambon Island. Distribution of total length at mesh size 2.0 inch at the middle size of 21.5 cm - 25.5 cm and 2.5 inch at the middle size of 22.5 cm - 31.5 cm. Mesh length tended to be normally distributed, while length proportion for large size was higher in mesh size at 2.5 inch.

Abstract

Taman Sejarah Hamlet is located in Waesala Village, Huamual Rear District, West Seram. It’s location by the coastline makes it an ideal spot for fishing activities. Most of it’s residents work as fishermen due to their easy access to the sea. However, the fishermen are currently facing a fish resource crisis, with a significant and decline in fish populations every year. Overfishing is one of the main factors causing this crisis. The lack of information and understanding among the fishermen about marine conservation means that fishing and management of marine resources cannot be properly measured or managed. The community service being carried out in Taman Sejarah Hamlet aims to provide enlightenment and positive contributions to the local fishing community about how to manage marine resources well and wisely.

Abstract

Sasi is customary regulation which is applied to protect natural resources in land and ocean. Commercial topshell, Rochia nilotica, is a gastropod and is one of protected marine resources by sasi. There were numerous studies about sasi but the choice of R. nilotica as sasi priority in Maluku has not been concerned yet. The aim of this study is to answer the question: “Why do R. nilotica become the sasi priority in Maluku?” This study was obtained from literature reviews regarding sasi after attending the ceremonial of “buka Sasi” in Rutong village, Ambon and from interviewing several respondents from the local people. Mostly the respondents answered that R. nilotica has high economic value and has to be protected from overfishing. From the literature review, life cycle of R. nilotica does not showing any specificity and its natural abundance is not alarmed. Nevertheless, because of its large in size, long lived, late maturity and easily habitat accessible, R. nilotica is vulnerable to overfishing. Four years duration of sasi is sufficient to increase R. nilotica abundance and stabilize its population.
