Abstract

The transmission of hepatitis B from mother to child has a probability of around 90%. One of the factors that influences efforts to prevent hepatitis B transmission is knowledge about hepatitis B. The aim of this research is to determine the knowledge of pregnant women about hepatitis B at the Mojoagung Community Health Center, Kediri Regency. This research is a descriptive study with the variable studied being pregnant women's knowledge about Hepatitis B. The population in the study was all pregnant women at the Mojoagung Community Health Center from 12 to 17 February 2024, totaling 691 pregnant women. The sampling technique used is Accidental Sampling. The samples obtained were 50 pregnant women. The instrument used in collecting primary data is a questionnaire, the data is processed and presented as a percentage. The results showed that the knowledge of pregnant women about hepatitis B was in the poor knowledge category of 28 pregnant women (56%), the sufficient knowledge category was 9 pregnant women (18%), and the good knowledge category was 13 pregnant women (26%) of the total respondents. 50 pregnant women. Pregnant women's knowledge about hepatitis B is important, as one of the capital in successful efforts to prevent the occurrence of hepatitis B in mothers and babies, it is necessary to take steps or methods in providing education about hepatitis B which leads to an understanding of hepatitis which has a positive impact, namely on mothers. Pregnant women can have regular check-ups.

Abstract

The crucial anemia is anticipated primarily in adolescent girls; As is known, anemia status in adolescents is influenced by food availability, which is supported by adequate food security. The availability of sufficient food can influence nutritional consumption in adolescent girls. Adolescent health can be improved by preventing anemia through consuming Blood Supplement Tablets. One of the health promotion efforts related to promoting the importance of consuming Blood Supplement Tablets as a preventative for anemia in young women can be through counseling about preventing anemia at RSIA Nirmala, Kediri City, East Java Province; by face to face, to provide counseling to young women, including understanding anemia, causes of anemia, symptoms of anemia, impacts of anemia and management of anemia. The auxiliary media used in counseling is leaflets. The time for implementing health promotion/counseling activities regarding preventing anemia in adolescent girls at RSIA Nirmala, Kediri City, East Java Province, is from May 10 to July 4 2024 with stages of planning, implementation, mentoring, and evaluation for 8 adolescent girls. The results of the activity evaluation showed that there was an increase in the knowledge of young women before and after providing counseling and all young women were enthusiastic about participating in the counseling as demonstrated by the activeness of all young women in the question and answer session; So it can be said that health promotion activities through education about the importance of consuming Blood Additive Tablets as a preventative for anemia in adolescent girls can be effective in increasing knowledge among teenage girls at RSIA Nirmala, Kediri City, East Java Province.

Abstract

The accuracy of providing complementary feeding contributes to one of the efforts to fulfill parenting patterns, especially for infants, so that optimal growth and development are achieved. This achievement cannot be separated from the characteristics of the mother, such as age, parity, education, occupation, and knowledge of complementary feeding. This study aims to determine the characteristics of mothers based on the accuracy of providing complementary feeding to infants aged 6–12 months at TPMB Fitri Anggraini, Pulau Baru Village, East Oku Regency, South Sumatra Province. This study is a descriptive study. The study population was all mothers who had infants aged 6–12 months at TPMB Fitri Anggraini, Pulau Baru Village, East Oku Regency, South Sumatra Province, totaling 58 mothers. The sample size was 53 mothers, with the Purposive Sampling technique. Independent variables include maternal characteristics (age, parity, education, occupation, whether or not they have received information and knowledge) and the accuracy of providing complementary feeding. The location of the study was carried out at TPMB Fitri Anggraini, Pulau Baru Village, East Oku Regency, South Sumatra Province. The research time was in November 2024. Data collection using a questionnaire, and the data was presented as a percentage. The results of the study showed that from a total of 53 respondents, based on the appropriateness of providing MP_ASI to infants aged 6-12 months, the most data findings were with maternal characteristics (age 26-35 years as many as 21 (39.6%), College Education as many as 19 (35.9%), Self-employed work as many as 25 (47.2%), Primiparous parity as many as 21 (39.6%), Good knowledge as many as 29 (54.7%). A mother has an important role in the appropriateness of providing MP-ASI according to the baby's age, this can have an impact on the health and growth and development of the baby; where the characteristics of the mother include: age, parity, occupation, education, knowledge and other factors can contribute to the appropriateness of providing MP-ASI to infants aged 6-12 months; as one of the efforts to optimize their growth and development.
