Abstract

The port of Tanjung Emas, Semarang as the main port in Central Java that have activity increases pollution impact. Hence the need for special attention and handling by using aquatic plants Lemna perpusilla. The purpose of this research is to know the physical condition of floating around the net keramba Tanjungmas city of Semarang. Designing the application fitoremediasi on floating around the net keramba Tanjungmas city of Semarang and Knowing the prospects of development of fitoremidiasi. This paper uses a case study research methods (case study), which this method has the goal to provide a detailed description of the background, traits and characters typical of cases of water are there in KJA around the Tanjugmas City of Semarang by taking the research object. While this research is the observation and interview is open ended. So that the data obtained indicate that the physical condition of floating around the net keramba Tanjungmas Semarang blackened water greenish colours, smells, and oily. Application design fitoremidiasi by Lemna perpusilla utilize water plants and fish seed banding continued with the observed results. As well as direct application on the KJA in the waters of Tanjung Mas with lemna and seed density setting fish whitefish. Fitoremidiasi development prospects by looking at opportunities to fish bandeng and Lemna perpusilla. Key words: Fitoremediasi, KJA, Fish Bandeng, Lemna perpusilla, Pollution.

Abstract

Introduction: Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) produce lactic acid as the end product of carbohydrate metabolism. LAB is known to have benefits, including balancing the microflora in the gut, is bacteriostatic, and is also reported to be able to stimulate the immune system. LAB can be isolated and characterized from various food products spread throughout Indonesia. Dangke is a food product in the form of processed cow's milk which is traditionally produced by the people of Enrekang Regency, South Sulawesi. Aims: To isolate and explore the characteristics of LAB both phenotype and genotype isolated from dangke as well as in vitro studies on the potential and mechanisms of their inhibition of the growth of pathogenic bacteria. Method: Research started with the process of collecting samples of dangke in Enrekang Regency, isolation and identification of indigenous LAB in dangke samples, characterization and continued with in vitro studies on the potential of LAB from dangke to inhibit bacterial growth. Results: LAB isolated from dangke macroscopic characteristics in the form of round colonies, mucoid texture, entire edge, elevation convex and translucent with a size of 2.2 mm. Microscopic characteristics in the form of rod-shaped gram-positive bacteria. Isolated LAB has the ability to grow in extreme conditions approaching intestinal conditions, namely growing in an environment with an acidic pH range of 3-5 and tolerant to bile salts. Secondary metabolites produced can inhibit the growth of S. aureus bacteria in vitro. Conclusion: LAB isolated from dangke have demonstrated significant potential for probiotic and antibacterial applications.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Staphylococcus aureus merupakan bakteri patogen yang mampu menyebabkan penyakit infeksi pada manusia. Adanya peningkatan resistensi antibiotik pada bakteri tersebut, sehingga perlu dilakukan upaya untuk mencari alternatif pengobatan berbasis bahan alam. Tujuan: untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak bawang merah (Allium cepa L.) terhadap bakteri S. aureus. Metode:  penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi STIKes Prima Indonesia dari bulan April-Juni 2025. Desain penelitian menggunakan rancangan eksperimental laboratorium  dengan metode paper-disk (disk diffusion) pada media Mueller Hinton Agar (MHA). Ekstrak bawang merah diperoleh melalui metode maserasi dengan menggunakan etanol 96%, selanjutnya diuji pada berbagai konsentrasi (10%, 15% dan 20%). Zona Hambat diukur setelah inkubasi 24 jam pada suhu 37oC. Hasil: penelitian menunjukan bahwa ekstrak bawang merah memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri S. aureus dengan zona hambat terbesar pada 20% yaitu sebesar 11,6 mm dengan kriteria lemah, sedangkan konsentrasi terendah 10% menghasilkan zona hambat rerata 8,6 mm dengan kriteria lemah. Kesimpulan: pada penelitian ini adalah ekstrak umbi bawang merah memiliki potensi sebagai agen antibakteri alami terhadap S. aureus dengan efektivitasnya meningkat seiring dengan kenaikan konsentrasi ekstrak.
