Abstract

This study aims to: 1) To determine the procedural skills of students before and after being taught the experimental method assisted by a virtual laboratory; 2) To determine the procedural skills of students before after being taught without using the experimental method assisted by a virtual laboratory; 3) To determine the improvement of students' procedural skills after being taught the virtual laboratory-assisted experimental method. This type of research is a Quasi-Experiment using Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population of students in class VIII of Al-Azhar 24 Makassar Islamic Junior High School consisting of 2 classes with 19 students each, the sample was selected by purposive sampling, with 2 classes, namely class VIII B as the control class and class VIII A as the experimental class. The research instrument was in the form of Procedural Skills test questions. Data collection is done by giving Pre-test and Post-test. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of descriptive statistical analysis of experimental class procedural skills had a higher score than the control class and for the results of inferential statistical analysis found that Ho was rejected and H1 was accepted. H1 states that the procedural skills of Class VIII students of Al-Azhar 24 Islamic Junior High School in Makassar who are taught using experimental methods assisted by virtual laboratories are higher than students who are taught without using experimental methods assisted by virtual laboratories. So it can be concluded that the experimental method assisted by a virtual laboratory has an effect on the procedural skills of class VIII students of Al-Azhar 24 Makassar Islamic Junior High School.

Abstract

This research was Research and Development aiming to produce Student Worksheet based on valid, practical, and effective science-process skills. This research used 4D Thiagarajan model.  From the research results, it is showed that testing on experts indicate that the average of LKPD device score is valid with validity content of 1. It means that the developed LKPD is feasible in conceptually. Next, the percentage of LKPD  practicality assessment results by educators shows very positive criteria with percentage 98%, it means that the educators can use the LKPD to be applied in learning process, as well as the percentage of learners’ responses on the developed LKPD shows very positive criteria with percentage of 96%, it means that the learners respond positively on the developed LKPD. Furthermore, the percentage of LKPD effectiveness assessment results as measured by science process skills assessed from N-gain result is 81.82% classified into medium category. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the integrated LKPD of natural science based on developed science process skills satisfies validity, practicality, and effectiveness criteria.

Abstract

This study aims to determine 1) the level of science process skills of students in classes taught using Discovery Learning models and conventional models, 2) the improvement of science process skills of students taught using Discovery Learning model and conventional model, 3) the effect of using the Discovery Learning model on improving students' science process skills. This research is a Quasi-Experiment using Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population of all students in class VIII SMP Negeri 13 Makassar consisting of 11 classes totaling 341 students, the sample was selected by purposive sampling with 2 classes, namely class VIII H as a control class with 27 students and class VIII G as an experimental class with 26 students. Data collection was done by giving Pretest and Posttest. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of the analysis showed that 1) the level of science process skills of students taught using the Discovery Learning model is in the high category with an average score of 13.03 and the conventional model is in the medium category with an average score of 9.61, 2) the improvement of students' science process skills after being taught using the Discovery Learning model is in the low category with an average N-Gain score of 0.50 and the conventional model with an average N-Gain score of 0.28 is in the low category, 3) there is an effect of using the Discovery Learning model on the science process skills of students in class VIII SMP Negeri 13 Makassar with the results of hypothesis testing, where tcount = 4.32> ttable = 1.68.

Abstract

This research aims to determine: (1) the levels of science process skills students of SMP grade-IX in Tamalate District and (2) description of science process skills students of SMP grade-IX in Tamalate District. The research method is descriptive quantitative with descriptive survey research design. The population in this research were 1,677 students from 5 schools with A accredited namely SMPN 15 Makassar, SMPN 18 Makassar, SMPN 24 Makassar, SMPN 26 Makassar and SMPN 27 Makassar with selected samples using the Slovin Formula by Random Class Sampling so that a sample of 413 students was obtained. The research instrument is a test of science process skills in the form of multiple choice as many as 24 questions that have been validated by experts. Data collection techniques in this research is multiple choice tests scored 1 for correct answers and 0 for wrong answers. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis. Based on the results of data analysis, it is known that: (1) the level of science process skills students grade-IX of SMPN in Tamalate District at the enough category with the average score of 12.09 by 50.8% and (2) description of science process skills students grade-IX of SMPN in Tamalate District on observing indicators 58% (Good), classifying indicators 53, 35% (Enough), predicting indicators 52.13% (Enough), communicating indicators 58.03% (Good), makes a hypothesis indicators of 50.04% (Enough), the indicator determining the variable 40.76% (Low) and the indicator designs the experiment 34.43% (Low) and on concluding indicators 52% (Enough).

Abstract

This research is a pre-experimental design that aims to: 1) the high learning outcomes studentof class VII MTs Darunnaiem Pesse before using comic media. 2) the high learning outcomes student of class VII MTs Darunnaiem Pesse after using comic media. 3), imroving the learning outcomes student of class VII MTs Darunnaiem Pesse before and after using comic media, 4) high determine whether there is an effect of the application of comic media on the learning outcomes studentsof class VII MTs Darunnaiem Pesse. The data wereanalyzed using descriptive data analysis. Based on analyzed concluded: 1) the learning outcomes studentof class VII before using comic media was average 10,95 is low category, 2) the learning outcomes student of class VII after using comic media was average 18,52 is medium category, 3) the icrease learning outcomes student of class VII before and after using comic media is include in the medium category with an n-Gain value of 0,54. 4). Based on hypothesis testing using t-tes concluded tcount = 6.1 > ttable = 1.72 this means that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. So, it can be concluded that the application of comics media has an effect on improving the learning outcomes students of class VII MTs Darunnaiem Pesse.

Abstract

This study aims to determine 1) Improvement of science literacy skills of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 25 Makassar who are taught using structured inquiry LKPD assisted by Quick Response Code, 2) Improvement of science literacy skills of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 25 Makassar who were taught using conventional LKPD, 3) The effect of using structured inquiry based Quick Response Code on improving the science literacy skills of students in class VIII SMP Negeri 25 Makassar. This research is a Quasi-Experiment using the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population of all students in class VIII SMP Negeri 25 Makassar consisting of 10 classes totalling 267 students, the sample was selected by purposive sampling with 2 classes, namely class VIII 8 as the control class with a total of 23 students and class VIII 10 as the experimental class with a total of 23 students. Data collection was done by giving Pretest and Posttest. Data were analysed with descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of the analysis showed that   1) The improvement in the science literacy skills of students who use structured inquiry LKPD assisted by Quick Response Code with an average N-Gain score of 0.60 is in the medium category, 2) Increasing the science literacy skills of students who use conventional LKPD with an average N-Gain score of 0.19 is in the low category, 3) There is an effect of using structured inquiry LKPD assisted by Quick Response Code on improving the science literacy skills of students in class VIII SMP Negeri 25 Makassar with the results of hypothesis testing, where tcount = 7.05> ttable = 1.68.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) determine KPS level of students before and after implementation of guided discovery learning model class VIII SMPN 3 Pangkajene material digestive system; (2) knowing the increase KPS of students after applying guided discovery learning model class VIII SMPN 3 Pangkajene the digestive system material; (3) find out significant increase KPS after applying guided discovery learning model class VIII students SMPN 3 Pangkajene on the digestive system material. This research a pre-experimental study using One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Population all students class VIII SMPN 3 Pangkajene. Sampling using saturated sampling technique. Instrument a multiple choice test. Data collection technique is giving pretest and posttest. Processing data using descriptive analysis techniques and inferential analysis. Based descriptive analysis, it was obtained that KPS N-gain score of students was 0.31 in medium category. Based results of inferential statistical analysis, it was obtained that Ho was rejected and H1 was accepted so that it was concluded there was an increase in the application guided discovery-based learning to improve the KPS class VIII students of SMPN 3 Pangkajene studying subject matter of digestive system.
