Abstract

This research aims to analyze the relationship between regional taxes and regional expenditure on the regional fiscal capacity of Parigi Moutong Regency 2016-2022. The research method uses a quantitative approach with a total of 7 years of observations obtained from the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency Report of Parigi Moutong Regency and analyzed using simple linear correlation (least square method). The research results show that the regional tax variable is positively and significantly correlated with the regional fiscal capacity of Parigi Moutong Regency. The regional expenditure variable has a negative and insignificant correlation with the regional fiscal capacity of Parigi Moutong Regency. The results of this research illustrate the importance of optimizing regional taxes through intensification, extensification, and using the budget effectively and efficiently so as to create regional independence. The limitations of this research are that it does not cover all the dominant variables that support regional fiscal performance and still uses relatively small data.

Abstract

The primary objective of this analysis is to examine the fluctuations in stock prices post dividend distribution, and to evaluate how dividends affect stock performance over a one-year period following their allocation. Statistical analysis using the Paired Sample T-Test is employed to assess time series data in this study. The sample used consists of seven banking issuers, namely BBCA, BBNI, BBRI, BMRI, BTPN, MEGA, and BNGA. The study findings suggest that there is a slight decrease in the performance of banking stock prices the day following the dividend cumdate, though not enough to be considered significant. However, a noticeable difference in share price performance among banking issuers is evident between three months and a year. This was obtained after conducting a paired sample t-test with a result of 0.032. The contraction of stock price performance at cum date in some companies at a certain time, resulting in stock prices falling within a few days. Some of the decline in stock prices after the cum date occurred only a few days or even less than one month, but there were several companies that experienced a longer decline or tended to experience a negative trend for a long time.

Abstract

Foreign exchange reserves are an important indicator for a country in conducting international trade, as well as a benchmark against the strong weak economic fundamentals of a country. This study aims to: 1) Analyze the response of changes in Indonesia's foreign exchange reserves simultaneously as a result of changes in exports, imports, Rupiah/U$D exchange rates, and external debt for the first quarter of 2008 - fourth quarter of 2021, 2) Analyze the response of changes in Indonesia's foreign exchange reserves individually as a result of changes in exports, imports, Rupiah/U$D exchange rates, and external debt for the first quarter of 2008-fourth quarter of 2021. The methods used are autoregressive conditional heteroscedasticity (ARCH) and generalized autoregressive conditional heteroscedasticity (GARCH). The results of the study based on estimates with the GARCH model (1.1) show that together the variables of exports, imports, rupiah exchange rates, and foreign debt have a significant effect on reserves Indonesian foreign exchange. The results of the estimation with the GARCH model (1.1) can be concluded that the export variable has a positive and significant effect on Indonesia's foreign exchange reserves. Import variables have a negative and significant effect on Indonesia's foreign exchange reserves. The rupiah exchange rate variable has a negative and significant effect on Indonesia's foreign exchange reserves, and the external debt variable has a positive and significant effect on the reserve variable. This research is still limited to the variables that are used as the basis for the research model, therefore it is necessary to consider information from the variable measurement of the number of Indonesian workers working abroad at various income levels, so that it can be known the role of Indonesian workers working abroad in increasing foreign exchange reserves.

Abstract

Inflation created in ASEAN 5 can be an economic problem amid economic pressure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Changes in the money supply are expected to suppress inflation based on the belief that inflation is a monetary phenomenon, but this condition cannot be expected. Inflationary turmoil in ASEAN 5 countries has hurt the macroeconomy. The specific objectives of this study are to analyze the movement of the variables of Money Supply and Inflation in ASEAN 5 Region Countries and investigate the effect of Money Supply on Inflation in ASEAN 5 Region Countries. The analysis method used is panel data regression. Regression Panel data is divided into two, namely, balanced panel and unbalanced panel. Balanced data panels occur when each cross-section unit has the same number of time series observations. In contrast, unbalanced panel data occurs when each cross-section unit does not have the same number of time series observations. The test results show that the estimation results are based on the REM approach. The REM model shows intercept differences between ASEAN 5 countries, meaning that inflation rates in ASEAN 5 countries differ at different levels of the money supply. Therefore, research can be conducted based on the view that inflation is not only a monetary phenomenon but also comes from the demand-pull inflation side for cases in ASEAN 5 countries

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the determinant factors of poverty in Central Sulawesi Province for the period 2020-2024, focusing on open unemployment, education, and per capita income. The research method uses quantitative panel data analysis with secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Central Sulawesi, covering 13 regencies/cities. The selection of regression models was conducted through Chow and Hausman tests, which indicated the fixed effect model as the most appropriate model. The analysis results show that open unemployment and education have a positive but not statistically significant effect on poverty. Meanwhile, per capita expenditure has a negative and significant effect on poverty, with a coefficient of determination (Adj. R²) of 99.68%, indicating that the three variables can explain most of the variation in poverty. These findings confirm that increasing people's purchasing power through economic policies that promote per capita expenditure is a crucial step in reducing poverty. On the other hand, education and unemployment management require deeper intervention, such as improving education quality and creating employment opportunities, to strengthen the effectiveness of poverty alleviation programs. This study recommends that local governments prioritize policies focused on increasing community income and equalizing access to education and employment opportunities.

Abstract

Public Business Credit (KUR) at pawnshops is a financing program aimed at supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in meeting their business capital needs. According to Regulation of the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia No. 1 of 2023, Public Business Credit (KUR) is a credit or financing facility provided for working capital and/or investment to individuals, business entities, or business groups that have productive and feasible activities but do not yet have additional collateral or whose additional collateral is insufficient. This study aims to determine the role of Public Business Credit (KUR) at Pegadaian Branch Office (CP) Palu Timur in improving community economic welfare in Palu City. This study uses qualitative research methods with a descriptive approach that aims to describe and understand social phenomena based on non-numerical data, such as interviews, observations, or documents, without using statistical tests. The research results show that the KUR program contributes to an increase in business turnover of 20-40% for most customers, improved ability to meet basic household needs, and reduced dependence on informal loans. However, the majority of customers have not been able to expand their business scale by adding workers, so the impact of welfare improvement is still limited to the nuclear family scope. The limitations of this study lie in the limited number of respondents and the research scope that only covers one pawnshop branch, so further research with broader coverage is needed to obtain a more comprehensive picture.
