Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of the implementation of pedestrian zones on the level of road services on two road sections, namely Jalan Tabaununggu and Jalan Supu Yusuf. Results Before the pedestrianization, Jalan Tabaununggu had a capacity of 2586 PCU/h per direction with a degree of saturation (Q/C) of 0.49, at Service Level C. After the pedestrian zone was enforced, the capacity decreased to 2674 PCU/h with Q/C of 0.33, which indicates an increase to Service Level B. On the other hand, on Jalan Supu Yusuf, before pedestrianization, the capacity was recorded at 2998 PCU/h per direction with a Q/C of 0.43 (Service Level B). After pedestrianization, the capacity increased to 2676 PCU/h per direction and Q/C decreased to 0.34, so that the service level increased to B. These results show that the implementation of pedestrian zones has a positive impact on the stability and efficiency of traffic flow, especially on Jalan Supu Yusuf-Tabaununggu Kendari City.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the structural capacity of the existing pavement and to determine the required thickness of flexible pavement overlay on the Kolaka – Rate-rate Road section to adequately serve traffic loads over a 20-year design life. Based on traffic survey results, the Average Daily Traffic (ADT) indicates a dominant contribution from heavy vehicles. The calculation shows a daily Equivalent Standard Axle (ESA) value of 1,322.47 ESA/day, with the largest contribution coming from 3-axle and ≥4-axle trucks. Considering an annual traffic growth rate of 5% and a 20-year design life, the Cumulative Equivalent Standard Axle (CESA) is estimated at approximately 1.60 × 10⁷ ESA. The evaluation of the existing pavement structure yields a Structural Number (SNₑₓ) of 6.96. Based on the relationship between CESA and subgrade bearing capacity (CBR 6%), the required Structural Number (SNᵣ) is determined to be 8.50. The difference between the required SN and the existing SN results in an overlay Structural Number (SNₒᵥ) requirement of 1.54. This value is then converted into the required asphalt overlay thickness using the appropriate layer coefficient

Abstract

This study is entitled “Geometric Evaluation of the Lanosangia–Wantulasi Road Section, North Buton Regency (Sta. 2+600–5+000).” Land transportation plays a strategic role in supporting economic growth; therefore, road geometric design must meet technical standards to ensure safety and comfort. This study addresses the issue that several road segments do not fully comply with geometric standards, particularly in terms of sharp curves and steep gradients. The objective of this research is to evaluate the existing geometric conditions, including horizontal alignment, vertical alignment, and cross-sections, based on the Guidelines for Geometric Design of Roads (PDGJ 2021) issued by the Directorate General of Bina Marga. A quantitative descriptive method was applied by comparing field data with applicable standards. Primary data were collected through field surveys using Geodetic/RTK measurements, while secondary data were obtained from related agencies. Data analysis was conducted using Digital Application Road to model alignments and calculate geometric parameters. The results show that the horizontal alignment consists of Spiral–Circle–Spiral (SCS) and Full Circle (FC) curves. Several vertical alignment segments have gradients exceeding 10%, although the overall terrain is classified as flat. The Stopping Sight Distance (SSD) meets safety standards. However, not all geometric elements comply with PDGJ 2021. This study provides recommendations to optimize road design qualit.

Abstract

Ahmad Yani Street in Kendari City is one of the main road segments with high traffic activity, especially during peak hours. This study aims to analyze the road performance by examining traffic volume, side friction, speed, degree of saturation, and level of service (LOS). Data were collected through field surveys for three days during morning, afternoon, and evening peak hours. The observation segment spans 200 meters, from the front of SMP Negeri 4 Kendari to the front of Ittifaqul Jama’ah Mosque. The analysis results indicate that traffic volume is higher on Segment B, influenced by the presence of a gas station and school, while Segment A experiences smoother flow due to the presence of only a mosque. The highest side friction is also found on Segment B. The free-flow speed (FFS) is recorded at 49 km/h on Segment A and 47 km/h on Segment B. The actual travel speed (VT) is 35 km/h for Segment A and 28 km/h for Segment B. The degree of saturation is 0.70 on Segment A and 0.80 on Segment B. Based on these values, the level of service for Segment A falls into category C, while Segment B is in category D. These findings indicate that Segment B's performance requires further attention to improve traffic flow.

Abstract

This study discusses the traffic characteristics and performance of Abunawas Street, Kendari City before and after the implementation of the one-way traffic flow system (SSA). The analysis was conducted on two road segments by considering traffic volume, average vehicle speed, and degree of saturation (DJ). The results showed that the highest traffic volume was recorded on Monday in Segment 1 at 742.6 smp/hour and Segment 2 at 385.8 smp/hour at 16.00–17.00 WITA. On Saturday, the highest volume in Segment 1 reached 855.2 smp/hour at 17.00–18.00 WITA, while in Segment 2 it was 389.7 smp/hour at 16.00–17.00 WITA. The average speed of light vehicles (MP) also showed variations, with the highest speed on Monday in Segment 1 at 26.2 km/hour and Segment 2 at 24.6 km/hour. On Saturday, the highest speed recorded was 25.4 km/h in Segment 1 and 25.2 km/h in Segment 2. In terms of road performance, the highest DJ value before the implementation of SSA was 0.50. After the implementation of SSA, the DJ decreased to 0.19. These results indicate that the implementation of SSA has an impact on road performance, despite a decrease in the DJ value

Abstract

Pelaksanaan Pengabdian kepada masyarakat dalam tridharma perguruan tinggi merupakan salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan partisipasi masyarakat di Kelurahan Benu-Benua, kecamatan Kendari Barat, Kota Kendari, perihal pentingnya pemanfaatan sumur resapan di pekarangan rumah masyarakat sebagai salah satu alternatif dalam upaya pencegahan atau banjir, mengurangi durasi terjadinya genangan air atau mengurangi limpasan air hujan. Genangan air atau banjir sering terjadi pada kawasan lingkungan dataran rendah, jadi genangan air banjir merupakan suatu hal yang sulit di hindari karena faktor topografi suatu kawasan, hal yang perlu dilakukan adalah melakukan pengendalian agar banjir itu tidak meluas atau atau menggenangi kawasan yang menggangu aktifitas manusia sehari hari, Dengan semakin meningkatnya curah hujan dan perubahan iklim, banjir menjadi masalah yang serius di daerah perkotaan. Dalam melaksanakan kegiatan Pengabdian kepada masyarakat metode yang digunakan dapat berupa bimbingan teknis meliputi sosialisasi, pelatihan dalam merencanakan kebutuhan, pembuatan dan pemeliharaan sumur resapan. Melalui bimbingan teknis ini dan kerja sama dengan masyarakat setempat, program ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang cara merencanakan sumur resapan dan manfaatnya dalam pengelolaan air hujan. Pembuatan sumur resapan pada suatu kawasan tidak hanya bertujuan untuk mencegah banjir, tetapi juga untuk meningkatkan kualitas lingkungan dan mengedukasi masyarakat tentang pentingnya konservasi air. Dengan penerapan sumur resapan secara luas, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kapasitas infiltrasi air ke dalam tanah dan mendukung keberlanjutan lingkungan dikawasan itu.

Abstract

Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) berbasis Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) di Desa Sindang Kasih dilaksanakan sebagai upaya pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui pendekatan terpadu pada aspek infrastruktur, sosial kemasyarakatan, dan ekonomi lokal. Kegiatan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih terbatasnya kualitas fasilitas publik, rendahnya partisipasi sosial terorganisir, serta belum optimalnya pengelolaan dan promosi potensi ekonomi desa, khususnya UMKM. Solusi yang diterapkan bersifat partisipatif dan kolaboratif dengan melibatkan pemerintah desa, masyarakat, serta mahasiswa KKN sebagai fasilitator. Pada aspek infrastruktur, kegiatan difokuskan pada penataan lingkungan Balai Desa, pembuatan peta wilayah desa, penyusunan denah sekolah, serta penyediaan plang nama aparatur desa sebagai sarana keterbukaan informasi publik. Pada aspek sosial, pendampingan dilakukan melalui kegiatan gotong royong, Jumat bersih, pelayanan posyandu, dan partisipasi dalam kegiatan keagamaan untuk memperkuat kohesi sosial dan kesadaran kolektif masyarakat. Sementara itu, pada aspek ekonomi, dilakukan pendampingan promosi UMKM melalui pemasangan banner di lokasi strategis guna meningkatkan visibilitas produk lokal. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kualitas lingkungan desa, partisipasi masyarakat, serta kesadaran terhadap pentingnya pembangunan berbasis kebersamaan dan potensi lokal. Secara integratif, PKM berbasis KKN ini terbukti mampu menjadi katalisator pembangunan desa yang berkelanjutan dan berorientasi pada kebutuhan riil masyarakat

Abstract

Abrasi pantai yang berulang di Kecamatan Sawa, Kabupaten Konawe Utara, Sulawesi Tenggara dengan pengikisan garis pantai mencapai 21 meter pada September 2025 mengindikasikan urgensi kajian hidrodinamika pesisir yang komprehensif. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pola elevasi arus pasang surut dan distribusi Suspended Sediment Concentration (SSC) sebagai dasar ilmiah mitigasi abrasi dan perencanaan pesisir berkelanjutan. Kerangka teoretis penelitian dibangun di atas teori hidrodinamika dua dimensi berbasis persamaan Navier-Stokes dengan pendekatan depth-averaging, yang dikombinasikan dengan konsep tegangan geser dasar (bed shear stress) sebagai mekanisme penggerak resuspensi sedimen di lingkungan estuari dan perairan terbuka. Penelitian menggunakan metode pemodelan numerik dengan perangkat lunak MIKE 21 Flow Model FM berbasis Flexible Mesh. Data diperoleh melalui survei lapangan selama 30 hari pada bulan Maret 2026, analisis granulometri sedimen di laboratorium, serta data sekunder berupa batimetri dan pasang surut dari Badan Informasi Geospasial (BIG) dan data angin dari European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). Validasi model menghasilkan nilai RMSE sebesar 0,088 (9%), yang mengindikasikan tingkat akurasi simulasi yang tinggi. Hasil pemodelan menunjukkan elevasi muka air berkisar antara ?0,79 hingga 0,87 m, kecepatan arus 0,03 sampai 1,5 m/s, dan nilai SSC antara 0,2–300 g/m³. Konsentrasi sedimen tersuspensi paling intensif terjadi pada fase surut terendah, dipicu oleh peningkatan bed shear stress yang mendorong resuspensi dan transpor sedimen ke arah laut. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa dinamika surut merupakan faktor dominan dalam proses erosi pesisir di Kecamatan Sawa dan dapat menjadi rujukan strategis bagi kebijakan pengelolaan wilayah pesisir
