Abstract

Fulfillment of fertilizer is still a crucial problem for farmers, especially young farmers who depend on helping their parents in the fields or gardens because they have to stop going to school due to their parents' low economic conditions. The lack of skills in processing agricultural products and the natural environment means that when the harvest season is over, many youth members just hang out without working. The aim of implementing this service is to transform the potential of bamboo roots by encouraging out-of-school youth to contribute to helping other farmers regarding the limitations of fertilizer through fermentation techniques in producing Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacter (PGPR) based on weathered bamboo roots for partners, namely the Out-of-School Youth Group. The implementation method for community service is a participatory approach to society that is implemented in three stages: socialization, training, and partner assistance. The results showed that partner members experienced a significant increase in their ability to understand the benefits of bamboo roots and convert them into biofertilizers, with an achievement of 90%. This activity helps the community, especially partners, obtain alternative fertilizers and companions to sustain agricultural products as the main commodity for the partners' parents' income.

Abstract

Stunting, characterized by shorter height or length in children under five compared to their peers, has seen a decrease in Palu City from 24.7% in 2022 to 22.1% in 2023. Despite various efforts, stunting remains high in Indonesia. An effective approach is community empowerment through nutrition and health assistance for pregnant women and stunted children. This support aims to educate and help families at risk of stunting in meeting their nutritional and health needs to prevent stunting. The program involved direct visits by community members, health teams, and posyandu cadres to homes and Posyandu. Results showed increased knowledge and improvements in height and weight for stunted children and pregnant women. However, the program has not fully met its targets due to low awareness among mothers and families about healthy, balanced nutrition. Additional strategies are needed, including more intensive training and counseling, enhanced social support, and closer collaboration to boost awareness and behavior changes related to diet and health.

Abstract

Human factors or work behavior, characteristics or work environment factors, equipment and material factors and work method factors are sources that cause accident risk. PT Gapura Angkasa Sultan Hasanuddin Airport has hundreds of employees, in the GSE Division. Judging from the process during operation, GSE is not free from danger and risk. This indicates that there is a cause of damage to the GSE so that the stability of workers continues to run well and the smooth operation of aircraft and passengers. This research aims to determine factors related to damage to Ground Support Equipment (GSE) at PT Gapura Angkasa Makassar. This research method is an analytical observational study using a cross sectional research design. The population in this study is the total number of engineering workers. The sample in this study consisted of 44 GSE operators who were determined using the total sampling method where all members of the population were used as samples and the data collected was analyzed using the chi squared test. The results of the analysis using the chi squared test showed that the knowledge variable was not related to GSE damage (p=0.143), attitudes were not related to GSE damage (p=0.062), actions were related to GSE damage (p=0.039), unsafe action (unsafe action) not related to GSE damage (p=0.277), and unsafe conditions not related to GSE damage (p=0.038). It can be concluded that the attitude and unsafe condition variables have a relationship to GSE damage and the knowledge, action and unsafe action variables have no relationship to GSE damage. It can be concluded that the unsafe action variable is an intervening variable for the influence of work shifts, work fatigue, on work accidents. It is hoped that future researchers will expand the population and sample size to obtain better research results

Abstract

Fatigue has been reported to decrease the body's physical condition, work performance, and motivation. Previous studies revealed that working in the apron section of the airport with heavy work duration can cause tiredness. The common symptoms of fatigue include a low level of activity and motivation from various internal and external factors. Therefore, this study aims to determine the factors related to fatigue in apron workers. This is a quantitative and analytical observational study with a cross-sectional design. The sample population consists of 35 workers who were selected with the total sampling technique. The data obtained were analyzed with Univariate and Bivariate Analysis using a chi-square test. The results showed that a total of 1, 30, 3, and 1 respondents were in the very high, high, moderate, and low fatigue categories, accounting for 2.9%, 85.7%, 8.6%, and 2.9%, respectively. The results of the chi-square statistical test revealed that there was a relationship between age (p = 0.0026), length of work (p = 0.021), and gender (p = 0.000), while there was no significant association during work (p = 0.527). There was also no relationship between working period and work burnout among apron workers. Furthermore, airport authorities are advised to provide knowledge in the form of seminars or training on work fatigue to educate employees on how to overcome fatigue and the contributing factors. Apron workers must also rest and avoid forcing themselves to work during fatigue

Abstract

Natural disasters such as the earthquake in Central Sulawesi, particularly in Donggala Regency, have a significant impact on public health, making the preparedness of healthcare workers crucial. This study combines the results of three studies conducted at Punggava Tompe, Kanamaseha Batusuya, and Kami Seivi Lembasada Community Health Centers to identify factors associated with disaster preparedness among healthcare workers. All three studies used a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach and involved total sampling, with 72, 57, and 70 respondents, respectively. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate methods using the Chi-square test. The synthesis results showed differences in findings across locations. Two studies (Tompe and Batusuya) indicated that knowledge was not significantly related to preparedness (p>0.05), while attitude was significantly related (p<0.05). In contrast, the study in Lembasada found that both knowledge (p=0.004) and attitude (p=0.000) were significantly related to preparedness. Overall, a consistent attitude plays a crucial role in improving disaster preparedness, while knowledge yields varying results depending on the context and conditions of the community health center. It is recommended that community health centers strengthen training, outreach, and disaster simulation programs, as well as increase the knowledge and positive attitudes of health workers to address disaster threats in earthquake-prone areas.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze factors related to worker compliance in implementing occupational safety and health (OHS) culture in the Palu City Bridge Construction Project Area IV at PT. Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk. The study used a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consisted of 119 construction worker respondents selected using the Slovin formula. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using univariate and bivariate tests. The results showed that knowledge (p=0.303) and work experience (p=0.592) were not significantly related to worker compliance in implementing an OHS culture. In contrast, supervision (p=0.001) was shown to have a significant relationship to worker compliance. These findings emphasize the importance of increasing supervision in the work environment, one of which is through the addition of safety officers in each project area, to strengthen the implementation of an OHS culture in the construction sector.
