Abstract

The role of the principal is crucial to optimize the implementation of the student character strengthening program. Unfortunately, the role of the principal is experiencing obstacles because he has not found the appropriate form of role and approach to make the student character strengthening program effective. This study examines the principal's transformational leadership role based on a local cultural system. A qualitative approach is used in this study, the case study design with the subjects studied were school principals. Participants in this study include three principals, three senior teachers, one parent, and one cultural figure. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies to achieve the research objectives. Data analysis employed a modified analytical analysis method. Meanwhile, the validity of the data was based on the level of credibility, transferability, dependence, and confirmability. The study results prove that the principal's transformational leadership role with a local cultural approach has a positive impact on the optimization of character strengthening programs and positive changes in students' moral behavior. The study concludes that the transformational leadership role of local culture-based principals impacts optimizing student character strengthening programs.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe implementing local cultural moral values that have not been prioritized by the Indonesian Ministry of Education, as the standard values of the main character in schools. In addition, this study also describes the transformational leadership behavior of school principals, based on a local culture-based approach. This research uses a qualitative approach, a case study design. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation study to achieve the research objectives. Data analysis used a modified analytical analysis method. Meanwhile, the data validity measurement was based on the level of credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The results of the study explain that the moral values of local culture support the strengthening of student character, and the application of transformational leadership based on a local cultural approach is very effective in optimizing the implementation of character education strengthening programs. This research was conducted in 2020 - 2021, at State Junior High School 1, Catholic Private Junior High School, and Islamic Private Junior High School in West Flores, East Indonesia. Keywords: transformational leadership; school principals; character strengthening; local wisdom values; lonto leok culture Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses penerapan nilai-nilai moral budaya lokal yang belum diprioritaskan oleh Kementerian Pendidikan Indonesia, sebagai nilai-nilai standar karakter utama di sekolah. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga mendeskripsikan perilaku kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah, berdasarkan pendekatan berbasis budaya lokal. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, desain studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipan, dan studi dokumentasi untuk mencapai tujuan penelitian. Analisis data menggunakan metode analisis analitik yang dimodifikasi. Sedangkan pengukuran keabsahan data didasarkan pada taraf kredibilitas, transferabilitas, ketergantungan, dan konfirmabilitas. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa nilai-nilai moral budaya lokal mendukung penguatan karakter siswa, dan penerapan kepemimpinan transformasional berbasis pendekatan budaya lokal sangat efektif dalam mengoptimalkan pelaksanaan program penguatan pendidikan karakter. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada tahun 2018 - 2019, di SMP Negeri 1, SMP Swasta Katolik, dan SMP Swasta Islam di wilayah Flores Barat, Indonesia Timur.Kata kunci: kepemimpinan transformasional; kepala sekolah; penguatan karakter; nilai-nilai kearifan lokal; budaya lonto leok

Abstract

This study aims to describe the leadership role of the principal's servant leadership based on spiritual moral values in conditioning humanistic education. This research uses qualitative research and case study design. The research subjects were 3 school principals and 3 senior teachers from three schools in State Junior High Schools, Islamic Private Junior High Schools, and Catholic Junior High Schools located in Malang City, East Java, Indonesia. Data were collected using in-depth interview techniques, participant observation, and documentation study. Data analysis used a modified analytic analysis method. Data validation by measuring credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The results of this study explain that as a servant leader, the principal is an altruist, faithful, and moral person to condition a humanistic learning environment. In addition, the leadership role of the principal's servant aims to restore and awaken personal awareness that focuses on psychological well-being, emotional maturity, and ethical, moral, and religious wisdom of each individual served.

Abstract

Destination development at education field in the same direction that is enhancement human resources in a way implement quality education. Therefore government should seek a system quality education implemented in school. Coordinating to achieve school success determined by competence coordination principals. In context research focused on school leadership to assess how much influence personality traits and transformational leadership style of the principal to increase spirit at work of teachers. The Population this research is the teachers on public and private Senior High School that meet the criteria the homogeneity of the population. Sampling technique use proportional random sampling.

Abstract

The low quality of learning today is marked by the low learning outcomes of students. One of the indicators causing the low quality of learning is the need for school principals in academic supervision activities to leverage and empower the teaching potential of teachers. Thus, it is important to construct principals' academic supervision activities based on humanistic spirituality values according to the Merdeka curriculum guidelines. The purpose of this study is to describe the reasons for implementing humanistic spiritual values and the role of the principal in academic supervision activities. The research method uses qualitative research and case study design. The participants in this study were three principals and three senior teachers from the two schools studied—data collection through interviews, observation, and documentation studies. Data analysis used a modified analytic analysis method. The study results explain the reason for the principal's application of humanistic spiritual values (personal characteristics, the spirit that is lived in the school environment, and the appreciation of religious teachings) in academic supervision. In addition, the role of the principal in academic supervision is proven through ethical behavior, sincerity, patience, humility, sensibility, friendliness, equality, open communication, and mutual respect. This research has implications for the development of school principals' academic supervision based on humanistic spiritual values to empower the teaching potential of teachers, as evidenced by an increase in student achievement motivation.

Abstract

Introduction/Main Objectives: This study aims to describe the leadership role of school principals based on spiritual-moral values in conditioning humanistic education. Background Problems: While servant leadership has been investigated from various angles, its application to principal leadership, primarily through a moral-spiritual lens, remains understudied. Novelty: This study underscores a gap in the literature on school principals' leadership, advocating for a spiritual-moral values approach to foster a humanistic school environment. Principals prioritize teachers' and students' interests, embodying servant leadership through active listening, open communication, and feedback acceptance. They also integrate moral, religious, and spiritual values into their leadership philosophy.  Principal A hold holds regular open meetings, establishes communication channels, organizes activities promoting values, and implements anti-harassment policies. Principal B develops special programs and collaborates with teachers to infuse moral and spiritual aspects into subjects. Principal C integrates character education, offers teacher training on ethics, and encourages role modeling of ethical values. Research Methods: This research uses qualitative methods and a case study design, utilizing in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The analysis includes a modified analytic approach with validation data through credibility, transferability, reliability, and confirmability assessments. Finding/Results: The study reveals that servant leadership fosters altruism, faithfulness, and morality, cultivating a humanistic learning environment and promoting personal awareness, psychological well-being, and ethical wisdom. Conclusion: In education, servant leadership promotes dialogue and humanistic values, emphasizing shared values over authority among school community members.

Abstract

The Learning Servant Leadership Role of Principals Based on Moral-Spiritual Values. This research aims to provide an objective description of the role of the principal as a learning servant leader based on spiritual and moral values. The implementation of learning servant leadership in two junior high schools in Malang City, East Java is also examined. A case study approach was employed using qualitative methods to collect data through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. A modified analytic analysis method was utilised to analyse the data and achieve research objectives. Technical terms are explained when first used, and the language used is formal and value-neutral with clear, concise sentences and a logical flow of information. The validity of the data is measured using processes of credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. According to the study's findings, the principal's objective is to enhance and empower the teaching potential of the educators for achieving restoration of learning. Self-awareness as an altruist, faithful (spiritual) and moral individual is the foundation of inspiration for the principal's role as a learning leader. This study suggests that the acquisition of servant leadership by principals has a subordinate effect on institutional or organizational outcomes while having a direct impact on investing in developing teachers' teaching potential for future learning recovery. Furthermore, the leadership of the principal's learning servant is highly appropriate for aiding teachers in their recovery and personal development. The approach prioritises the psychological well-being, emotional maturity, and ethical, moral, and religious wisdom of those being served, which is of great benefit to educators. Kepemimpinan pelayan pembelajaran kepala sekolah merupakan strategi peran kepemimpinan yang mengintegrasikan semangat pelayanan dengan nilai-nilai moral spiritual. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peran kepemimpinan pelayan pembelajaran kepala sekolah berbasis nilai-nilai moral spiritual. Kepemimpinan pelayan pembelajaran diterapkan oleh dua kepala Sekolah Menengah Pertama di Kota Malang, Jawa Timur berbasis nilai-nilai moral spiritual. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, desain studi kasus. Pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi untuk mencapai tujuan penelitian. Analisis data menggunakan metode analisis analitik yang dimodifikasi. Pengukuran keabsahan data berdasarkan proses kredibilitas, transferabilitas, ketergantungan, dan konfirmabilitas. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa. tekad kepala sekolah adalah mengungkit dan memberdayakan potensi pengajaran guru untuk mencapai pemulihan pembelajaran. Sumber inspirasi peran kepemimpinan pembelajaran kepala sekolah berpusat pada kesadaran diri sebagai pribadi altruis, beriman (spiritual) dan bermoral. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan bahwa kepemimpinan pelayan pembelajaran kepala sekolah berpengaruh tidak langsung pada hasil organisasi/lembaga, tetapi berdampak langsung pada investasi pemberdayaan potensi pengajaran guru untuk mencapai pemulihan pembelajaran di masa depan. Selain itu, kepemimpinan pelayan pembelajaran kepala sekolah sangat cocok untuk pemulihan dan penyadaran pribadi guru karena terfokus pada kesejahteraan psikologis, kematangan emosional, dan kebijaksanaan etis, moral, religius dari individu yang dilayani.

Abstract

Empowerment of awareness and the meaning of life of religious tolerance is a very important activity to be given to the community. The aim is to develop broad insights and understanding, to form tolerant behavior that is shown through concrete actions that support the creation of a safe, peaceful, harmonious life in an integrative society based on multiculturalism values. This tolerant life empowerment activity is a real effort to overcome various forms of conflict due to intolerance in society. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out community empowerment activities in the community of inter-religious dialogue services to build awareness of living as a tolerant nation and state. The method used in this community service activity is the socialization of empowerment (lectures) and simulations (dialogue/fraternal sharing and real action) guided by the speakers. The subjects in this empowerment activity are the people who join the Inter-religious Dialogue Service Community, especially the Inter-religious Dialogue Service Community of St. Ignasius Loyola in the Kepanjen Parish area, Malang, with a total of 80 participants. This activity was carried out for six (6) months, from May to October 2022. As a result of this empowerment of religious tolerance, the community has broad knowledge and understanding regarding the importance of a safe and harmonious life, and is able to build an open and adaptive culture of religious tolerance. === Kegiatan pemberdayaan kesadaran dan pemaknaan kehidupan toleransi beragama merupakan kegiatan yang sangat penting untuk diberikan kepada umat/masyarakat. Tujuannya adalah mengembangkan wawasan pengetahuan dan pemahaman yang luas, membentuk perilaku yang toleran yang ditunjukkan melalui aksi nyata yang mendukung terciptanya kehidupan yang aman, damai, dan harmonis dalam masyarakat yang integratif berbasis nilai-nilai multikulturalisme. Kegiatan pemberdayaan kehidupan yang toleran ini merupakan upaya nyata untuk mengatasi berbagai bentuk konflik akibat sikap intoleransi di masyarakat. Karena itu, perlu dilakukan kegiatan pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam komunitas pelayanan dialog antaragama untuk membangun kesadaran hidup berbangsa dan bernegara yang toleran. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah sosialisasi pemberdayaan (ceramah) dan simulasi (dialog/ sharing persaudaraan dan aksi nyata) yang dipandu oleh pemateri. Subjek dalam kegiatan pemberdayaan ini adalah masyarakat yang bergabung dalam Komunitas Pelayanan Dialog Antaragama, khususnya Komunitas Pelayanan Dialog Antaragama St. Ignasius Loyola dalam wilayah Paroki Kepanjen, Malang yang berjumlah 80 peserta. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan selama enam bulan, yaitu pada bulan Mei sampai Oktober 2022. Hasil kegiatan pemberdayaan hidup.

Abstract

Kepemimpinan transformatif sebagai paradigma yang terus berkembang dalam konteks abad 21 menawarkan pemikiran yang unik dalam memahami dan menghadapi berbagai tantangan yang terkait dengan demokrasi di masa kini. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menyelediki peran kepemimpinan transformatif dalam memaknai dan mengatasi berbagai problematika yang muncul dalam konteks demokrasi di organisasi mahasiswa. Melalui kepemimpinan transformatif, artikel ini menawarkan solusi yang berbasis pada pemberdayaan, partisipasi aktif, dan pembangunan kapasitas anggota. Kepemimpinan transformatif mendorong terciptanya lingkungan yang inklusif dimana individu memiliki suara yang di hargai dan didengar. Ini menciptakan landasan yang kuat untuk mengatasi konflik, memperkuat kepercayaan, dan mempromosikan keterlibatan yang berkelanjutan. Dengan demikian artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa kepemimpinan transformatif memiliki potensi besar untuk menjadi fasilitator dalam menghadapi problematika demokrasi di era kontemporer. Melalui pendekatan ini diharapkan bahwa organisasi mahasiswa dapat membangun pondasi yang lebih kuat untuk demokrasi yang inklusif, dinamis, dan berkelanjutan.
