Abstract

Religious moderation is an important implementation of the Islamic teachings of rahmatan lil'alamin, which prioritizes tolerance and balance, and rejects extreme attitudes in religious life. This concept positions Islam as a blessing for all nature and prioritizes social harmony in a pluralistic society. In the context of Islamic education, its role is very strategic in instilling the value of moderation through the development of an inclusive and dialogical curriculum and learning approach. This study examines the concept of religious moderation as a product of the Islamic teachings of rahmatan lil'alamin and the role of Islamic education in internalizing these values in students. Data were obtained through a literature review and analysis of the Islamic education curriculum. The findings indicate that Islamic education can shape the character of a moderate and tolerant young generation, while reducing the potential for radicalism and intolerance. Thus, religious moderation is not only a principle of Islamic teachings but also an important part of character development through Islamic education.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the strategic role of character education in the process of developing a sustainable and civilized society. Character strengthening is seen as a moral foundation as well as a social instrument that fosters collective awareness and citizen participation in building an inclusive civilization. The research method uses a library research approach, with a literature selection process based on inclusion criteria (Sinta/Scopus/Garuda indexed journal articles, relevant books, 2019–2025). This article analyzes character education policies in Indonesia, their relationship to local wisdom values, and relevant integration models in the context of a pluralistic society. The results of the study indicate that character strengthening is effective when supported by adaptive public policies, persuasive communication strategies based on wisdom and mau‗idhah hasanah, and collaboration between educational institutions, the government, and local communities. Character education is not merely a cognitive process, but also a social transformation towards a society that is moral, empowered, and just.

Abstract

This research is motivated to investigate the influence student motivation to read the Al-Qur'an because of the class VII-1 SMP Al-Amin who can read the Al-Qur'an, but not motivated to apply it in a learning activity in PAI. Backgrounds are researchers interested in studying the student's ability to read the Al-Qur'an is to motivate learning Achievement PAI. This study aims to: (1) determine the ability to read the Al-Qur'an class VII-1 SMP Al-Amin, (2) find the motivation to read the Al-Qur'an to the learning Achievement PAI class VII-1 SMP Al-Amin, (3) the effect of motivation between the ability to read the Qur'an to the results of PAI class VII-1 SMP Al-Amin. This research is quantitative research with a conclusion through statistical analysis. Location of research on SMP Al-Amin Cibening Pamijahan the District of Bogor, with a population totaling 114 students. The sample in this study of 20 people with a stratified random sampling technique. This study uses a quantitative approach. The research instrument used a questionnaire to motivate reading the Al-Qur'an and the results of the report cards to determine student learning Achievement against the PAI lesson. Data analysis techniques include (1) test instruments, validity, and reliability. (2) Test prerequisites research, consisting of the analysis unit includes the value of Mean, Median, Mode, and standards of deviation. (3) Test the hypothesis, correlation test, reliability test, t test. Results:   (1)   There   is   a   positive   and   significant   influence   student motivation Reading the Al-Qur'an to the results PAI of Class VII-1 SMP Al- Amin. Based on the results obtained by analysis of the price of the product- moment correlation coefficient rxy showed a strong/ positive value of 0.8504 while rtabel of 0.444 means rxy  > rtabel. And reliability analysis results obtained r11  value indicates a positive value of 0.921 while rtabel of 0.444 means rhitung> rtabel, which means there is a relationship between motivation Student Reading the Al-Qur'an (X) with Learning Achievement PAI (Y). (2) Test the hypothesis result of motivation to read the Al-Qur'an thitung  10.038 while table = 2.101. thitung> ttabel (10.038> 2.101).

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan keaktifan mahasiswa dalam perkuliahan pada mata kuliah Psikologi Pendidikan dengan penerapan metode Focus Group Discussion (FGD) mahasiswa Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Tarbiyah Kota Balikpapan semester tiga. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan Classroom Action Research yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, di mana setiap siklus meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 19 mahasiswa. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi dan dokumentasi, sedangkan instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar observasi aktivitas mahasiswa selama proses perkuliahan berlangsung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata keaktifan mahasiswa meningkat pada siklus I sebesar 65,26% pada siklus II meningkat hingga 88,42% Peningkatan tersebut disebabkan oleh semakin terbiasanya mahasiswa mengikuti alur FGD serta adanya kompetisi positif antar kelompok. Dengan demikian, penerapan metode FGD terbukti efektif dalam mendorong partisipasi mahasiswa secara aktif dan meningkatkan kualitas perkuliahan. Metode ini dapat dijadikan alternatif strategi perkuliahan yang mampu menciptakan suasana perkuliahan yang interaktif, partisipatif, serta dapat mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir mahasiswa.

Abstract

Abstrak Ilmu pengetahuan dalam Islam dipandang sebagai amanah ilahiah yang tidak hanya bersumber dari akal dan pengalaman empiris, tetapi juga dari wahyu Allah yang tertuang dalam Al-Qur’an dan Hadis. Namun, dalam konteks modern, perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan cenderung mengalami fragmentasi epistemologis dengan memisahkan dimensi rasional, empiris, dan spiritual. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara komprehensif konsep ilmu dan sumber-sumbernya dalam perspektif Al-Qur’an dan Hadis, serta menjelaskan relevansinya bagi pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan kontemporer. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kepustakaan, melalui analisis terhadap teks Al-Qur’an, Hadis, serta karya-karya klasik dan kontemporer para ulama dan akademisi yang relevan dengan epistemologi Islam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Islam memandang ilmu secara holistik dengan tiga sumber utama, yaitu ayat qauliyyah (wahyu), ayat kauniyyah (alam semesta), dan ayat insaniyyah (pengalaman manusia). Ketiga sumber ini bersifat saling melengkapi dan terintegrasi dalam kerangka epistemologi Islam. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan dalam Islam harus berlandaskan nilai-nilai etika, spiritual, dan kemanusiaan agar ilmu tidak hanya bermanfaat secara duniawi, tetapi juga bernilai transendental. Dengan demikian, epistemologi Islam menawarkan solusi atas krisis pengetahuan modern melalui pendekatan yang integratif dan berorientasi pada kemaslahatan manusia. Kata Kunci: Ilmu Pengetahuan; Sumber Ilmu; Epistemologi Islam; Al-Qur’an; Hadis Abstract In Islam, knowledge is understood as a divine trust that is not solely derived from human reason and empirical experience, but also from revelation as conveyed through the Qur’an and Hadith. However, contemporary scientific development often exhibits epistemological fragmentation by separating rational, empirical, and spiritual dimensions of knowledge. This study aims to comprehensively examine the concept of knowledge and its sources from the perspectives of the Qur’an and Hadith, as well as to analyze their relevance for contemporary knowledge development. This research employs a qualitative approach using a library-based method, analyzing Qur’anic verses, Hadith, and classical as well as contemporary scholarly works related to Islamic epistemology. The findings reveal that Islamic epistemology recognizes three primary and interconnected sources of knowledge: qauliyyah verses (revelation), kauniyyah verses (the universe), and insaniyyah verses (human experience). These sources form an integrated and holistic framework that guides the acquisition and application of knowledge. The study concludes that the development of knowledge in Islam must remain grounded in ethical, spiritual, and humanistic values to ensure that knowledge contributes not only to worldly progress but also to transcendental and moral objectives. Thus, Islamic epistemology offers an integrative solution to contemporary epistemological challenges. Keywords: Knowledge; Sources of Knowledge; Islamic Epistemology; Qur’an; Hadith
