Abstract

Wae Bobok is a forest area in Tanjung Boleng Village, West Manggarai Regency, that used as a rest area for local people who drive between districts as well as an ecotourism destination. Not only a variety of special culinary, Wae Bobok offers a number of attractions in surrounding area, such as view point, spring, waterfall, outbond and camping site. Interpretive media is one aspect that needs to be developed in Wae Bobok in order to improve the quality of ecotourism destinations and increase knowledge for tourists. This community service activity aims to provide knowledge regarding the concept of interpretation and train the community in developing interpretation media in Wae Bobok area. By using a community based-development approach and field observations, this activity try to produce a short narrative of tourist attractions in Wae Bobok area as well as interpretive media such as brochure and promotional video that can be used by visitors.

Abstract

Model pengembangan desa wisata menjadi salah satu agenda pembangunan nasional yang cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan di desa. Namun demikian, maraknya pengembangan desa wisata belum didukung oleh upaya perencanaan produk pariwisata yang maksimal. Oleh karena itu, peningkatan kapasitas Pokdarwis dalam mengemas potensi – potensi wisata untuk menjadi produk pariwisata yang siap jual sangat diperlukan sebagai upaya mendistribusikan manfaat ekonomi pariwisata ke desa-desa. Upaya peningkatan kapasitas masyarakat ini dilakukan secara multidisiplin ilmu dengan menggunakan metode Focus Group Discussion (FGD) dan workshop. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah terlaksanakannya proses identifikasi potensi dan komponen wisata yang tersedia, serta teridentifikasikannya target pasar, unique selling point dan penentuan harga jual. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini telah memampukan masyarakat dalam mengelola dan memasarkan desa wisata melalui paket wisata.

Abstract

Since then the Indonesian government has started to issue policies to reduce the spread of the covid-19 virus by implementing large-scale societal restrictions that have resulted in the closure of schools, workplaces and crowded places including tourist spots and restrictions on international and national flights. This has had a huge impact on the development of the tourism industry including the West Manggarai tourism industry which is recognized as the Komodo National Park. Therefore, it is necessary in order to conduct a scientific study to determine how to dig the influence of Covid-19 is on the Tourism Industry in West Manggarai. The results of this study are invited to become the basis for policy making to deal with the impact of Covid-19 appropriately. A study of the impact of covid-19 on tourism in West Manggarai was carried out using primary and secondary data. Primary data were generated using an online questionnaire distributed to tourism actors in the period 18-31 May 2020. The selection of respondents used snowball techniques (snowball sampling) and collected 129 respondents. Ancillary data collection through literature reviews was also carried out to fruitful insights on various policies to cope with the impact of covid-19. Data analysis used qualitative and quantitative approaches. Primary data were analyzed by looking at the similarities and differences. The results of the study concluded that Covid-19 triggered a potential loss of revenue from the tourism sector of more than 5 billion throughout 2020. Most respondents did not have adequate resources related to crisis management. Several recommendations are needed to decrease the influence of covid-19 on the tourism industry including long-term, short-term recommendations and recommendations for destination marketing.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the 3A (attraction, amenity, accessibility) concept of tourism planning development in Desa Umatoos, Kecamatan Malaka Barat, Kabupaten Malaka. This research uses a qualitative method and the key informants are the representatives of related stakeholders which from academician, business, community, local government, and mass media. This study uses field observations, in depth interview, focus group discussion, and literature studies. The result of the study showed the existence of main tourist attractions, alternative attractions, other potential nature and cultural tourism products in the village, also numbers of supporting facilities and accessibilities. There are also some weaknesses and potential threats that can become obstacles in the whole process of CBT’s planning development. Therefore, it is recommended that stakeholders need to collaborate in the whole aspects of planning development.
