Abstract

Cooperative as one business entity that has evolved over 68 years in 2015. The foundation of cooperation and togetherness that is contained in the cooperative to manage economic resources is a tool for people who are not able to escape from poverty, it is in line with expectations as Bung Hatta the father of the cooperative. Cooperative as a pillar is a manifestation of economic democracy as outlined in Article 33 of the Constitution, 1945. It can be seen from a different mechanism of capitalist economic system that promotes individual interests and personal gain alone. However during the course of the cooperative operates based on the system of interest, but the interest drawn by the cooperative finally returned to members as Time Results of Operations (SHU), so that the loans extended by the cooperative to members can be utilized. Nevertheless the interest rate offered is lower than the cooperative banking interest. The basic problem is the system of interest that should not be practiced by MUI Fatwa September 2003, because of riba. Therefore how should the cooperative development of sharia? Islamic products is how to offer, so that cooperatives can help the economy of the middle to lower. Related to the issue of this paper discusses the development of sharia-based cooperatives.

Abstract

Abstract: The doctrine of Abu Hanifa has spread in the country since Abu Yusuf empowered him after assuming the position of judge of judges in the Abbasid state. It was the official doctrine of it, in addition to the philosophy of Malik in the Hijaz. The Hanafi school became the only official school of thought when Malik died. It spread in Iraq and its east from the countries of the Persians: Persia and Beyond the River (Turkistan), Afghanistan, and India. It was also the official doctrine of many Levantine countries, such as the Seljuk State, the Gharnawi State, and the Ottoman State. Then they began to push people to embrace its doctrine until it became the most prominent Islamic school of thought with followers among Muslims due to the length of the rule of the Ottoman Empire, which spanned about seven centuries. Instead, they even imposed the recitation of Hafs on the authority of Asim, instead of the recitations that are widespread in the Islamic world (especially the recitation of al-Dawri), just because Abu Hanifa used to recite it! The Turks spread their doctrine in eastern Europe, Iraq, and northern Syria, but they failed to impose it in areas far from their influence, such as the island and Africa.

Abstract

This article aims to explain the role of Bektashi Sufism. It was practiced for centuries in the Ottoman Empire and is considered a branch of the Ja’fari school of Shia. The Imams of the Ahl al-Bayt (Shia) had developed and adapted to the style of Sufism that surrounded them. So far, the Shiites have conflicted with the Sunnis. Social penetration was successful, and many Bektashi followers declared that they had converted to Islam, like Christians and Jews. The problem of the sect adhered to by Bektashi is still being debated. Who is the Bektashi group? Are these groups Shiites or Sunnis? By analyzing and applying the theory of interpersonal relations and openness by the Bektashi group, which ruled out the Ja’fari Fiqh thinking to abolish differences in Sufism, Bektashi penetrated Sunni bodies. The writers used a literature study. It employed a descriptive and qualitative analysis to conduct a historical discussion of this unique Bektashi school of thought. The teachings of Bektashi affected the spirit of jihad of the Ottoman Turkish troops, who came from Christian prisoners of war. They won many victories with the guidance and support of the Bektashi group. Bektashi’s teachings are also compatible with religious tolerance, openness, and moderation inspired by various styles of thought and philosophy.

Abstract

: Qurbani is perceived to be performed by people who have a lot of money, but in practice, financial capability is not the main reason why people perform qurbani. This article discusses what factors are the segmentation and motivation for performing qurbani and divides them into several reasons for qurbani participants based on age, gender, economic level, and education level. Furthermore, the segmentation of qurbani participants that has been determined is analyzed from the perspective of legal awareness, which is an indicator of the level of knowledge, understanding, attitude, and behavior. The purpose of the descriptive description of the segmentation and legal awareness of qurbani performers is to reveal the motivation of qurbani performers based on the experience of the people of West Sumatra. The method used is a mixed method (mix method), namely a qualitative-descriptive approach and a quantitative approach. The quantitative approach will measure the percentage based on the segmentation of qurbani participants, namely based on age, gender, education, and region The qualitative approach was used to analyze the qurbani participants' motivation, religious level, and legal awareness. The results showed that the segmentation of qurbani participants from the middle class is higher, as many as 42% of the total qurbani participants. The dominance of West Sumatran people's motivation for qurbani is influenced by the level of religiosity fostered through religious teachings and Ulama fatwas, while economic motivation is only one of the supporting factors, because materially, even though the community does not have economic stability, they are still enthusiastic about becoming qurbani participants with motivations based on the pattern of preparing qurbani costs and the preparation period. Furthermore, it was concluded that qurbani participants in West Sumatra have high legal awareness, this can be seen in the high level of understanding and knowledge of the qurbani law, as well as positive attitudes driven by religiosity, which strengthens social solidarity and community unity. This research implies that the participation, segmentation, and motivation of qurbani performers are not solely related to economic security, but rather to high levels of religiosity and legal awareness.

Abstract

This article intends to describe today's feasibility of using the dinar and dirham currencies in the Islamic economic system. The application of Dinar and Dirham is considered more appropriate because they have a fixed value and guarantee stability. The dinar and Dirham currencies are deemed capable of solving currencies, such as coping with massive inflation in the world currency system. Dinar and Dirham can realize the stability of exchange rates and increase international trade progress, especially in Islamic countries throughout history. The author analyzes books from the library with a descriptive analysis approach. In theory, dinars and dirhams stabilize a country's finances if supported by production factors. This will accelerate the turnaround of money and the economy. However, the Dinar and Dirham also do not escape various problems. For example, the large hoarding of gold and silver, the obstacles between a country, the possibility of a monopoly by a government with more gold reserves, and very high production capabilities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Baitul Maal wat Tamwil (BMT) as an Islamic Microfinance Institution (IMFI) in supporting the sustainability of poverty alleviation in Indonesia. The analysis highlights the strategic function of BMT in empowering microeconomic activities based on Islamic principles, especially for the poor and micro-entrepreneurs who are underserved by conventional financial institutions. Using a literature review approach and synthesis of empirical findings from various studies, this research concludes that BMT significantly contributes to increasing household income, expanding access to Islamic financing, and fostering community-based economic development. However, the sustainability of BMT’s role depends heavily on sharia compliance, technological innovation, and institutional governance quality. Therefore, collaboration between government, BMT, and zakat institutions is essential to optimize the socio-economic impact. This study recommends strengthening human resources, digitalizing services, and conducting periodic evaluations to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of Islamic microfinance in alleviating poverty.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to explore and analyze the integration of green finance principles with Islamic microfinance practices in Istanbul, Turkey. Specifically, it examines how Islamic microfinance institutions incorporate environmental and social sustainability values into their operational activities and investigates the role of Islamic social finance instruments, such as zakat, infak, sedekah, waqf, and qard al-hasan, in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).Methodology – Employing a qualitative research design with a case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis involving key stakeholders of Islamic microfinance institutions in Istanbul. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis to uncover recurring patterns and themes related to the adoption of green finance principles. The key variables examined included environmental sustainability, social sustainability, Sharia compliance, and the effectiveness of Islamic social finance tools.Findings – Findings indicate a positive but partial integration of green finance principles into Islamic microfinance practices, with notable contributions from zakat and waqf in promoting social welfare and environmental responsibility. However, challenges such as regulatory constraints, limited awareness, and difficulties in measuring impact have also been identified.Implications – These implications underscore the need for enhanced regulatory support, capacity building, and awareness programs to foster a more robust and sustainable Islamic microfinance sector.Originality – This study contributes both conceptually and practically to the literature on sustainable Islamic finance and provides strategic recommendations for policymakers, practitioners, and researchers. This study is expected to support the advancement of inclusive, ethical, and environmentally responsible microfinance models aligned with Sharia principles and global sustainability agendas.
