Abstract

This research aims to analyze the social-emotional concept in Nana Asma'u's thought and its relevance to Islamic Religious Education. This research is classified as library research with a qualitative approach. The data sources used are derived from journal articles. The data collection technique involves understanding and studying theories from various relevant literature and library materials. The data analysis technique in this research is conducted qualitatively through three stages: the data condensation stage where researchers perform filtering, selection, and focusing of data to make it easier to understand and process according to the research focus, followed by the data display stage, and the conclusion drawing and verification stage. The results of this research show that Nana Asma'u's social-emotional approach offers much-needed solutions in modern education, which focuses on the balance between cognitive, emotional, and social aspects in character formation of students. By prioritizing love, empathy, social responsibility, and women's empowerment. Through the Yan Taru method, Nana Asma'u successfully created an educational system that emphasizes non-dehumanizing human relationships. The novelty of this research lies in strengthening the social-emotional aspects in Islamic Religious Education through a historical-conceptual approach from a classical Muslim female figure, which has rarely been discussed specifically in the context of contemporary education. Moreover, this research highlights the significant contribution of the female figure Nana Asma'u in integrating spiritual, social, and emotional values in Islamic education that is inclusive, humanistic, and relevant to contemporary needs. Abstract

Terjadi ketimpangan dalam penerapan metode pembelajaran konvensional yang bersifat pasif dan monoton dengan metode modern yang lebih partisipatif serta relevan pada perkembangan zaman. Hal ini berdampak pada rendahnya efektivitas dan relevansi pembelajaran, khususnya dalam konteks Pendidikan agama Islam yang seringkali dianggap hanya focus pada aspek spiritual tanpa integrase keterampilan abad 21. Penelitian ini membahas tentang bagaimana integrase metode pembelajaran konvensional dan modern dapat meningkatkan efektivitas dan relevansi pembelajaran PAI. Menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian mengemukakan bahwa integrase metode pembelajaran konvensional dan modern bisa menghasilkan pembelajaran yang holistic serta kontekstual. Integrase metode pembelajaran konvensional dan modern sangat relevan untuk menciptakan pengalaman belajara yang komprehensif dalam Pendidikan agama Islam. Penggabungan ini mampu membentuk siswa berakhlak, kritis dan siap menghadapi tantangan global Kesimpulannya, Integrasi antara metode tradisional dengan modern tidak hanya berupa strategi saja, melainkan kebutuhan yang penting dalam membentuk generasi muda islam yang berlandaskan spiritual dan digitalnya tidak tertinggal.Kata Kunci: Metode Pembelajaran, konvensional, modern, PAI

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji sistem pendidikan Dinasti Abbasiyah dalam konteks pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) abad ke-21. Latar belakang penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada masa Abbasiyah, pendidikan Islam berkembang pesat, tidak hanya dalam aspek keagamaan (naqliyah), tetapi juga ilmu pengetahuan rasional (aqliyah), seperti matematika, astronomi, kedokteran, dan filsafat. Sistem pendidikan yang komprehensif dan inklusif tersebut mendukung pengembangan intelektual dan spiritual, yang memungkinkan ilmuwan seperti Al-Khwarizmi, Ibnu Sina, dan Al-Farabi untuk memberikan kontribusi besar dalam bidang sains dan keagamaan sehingga masih sangat perlu untuk dikontekstualisasikan pada pembelajaran PAI abad ke-21. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan termasuk dalam penelitian kepustakaan (library resreach). Sumber data yang digunakan berasal dari artikel jurnal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai pendidikan Abbasiyah, seperti keterbukaan terhadap ilmu luar, toleransi, rasionalitas, moderasi, serta integrasi ilmu agama dan sains, sangat relevan untuk diterapkan dalam pendidikan Islam abad ke-21. Pendekatan ini dapat mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, moderasi beragama, dan akhlak mulia dalam kalangan siswa. Oleh karena itu, kontekstualisasi pendidikan Abbasiyah menjadi langkah strategis untuk merancang kurikulum dan metode pembelajaran PAI yang lebih adaptif dan solutif terhadap kebutuhan zaman dan tantangan global.

Abstract

This article examines the intellectual transformation of Islamic education by exploring the legacy of Bayt al-Hikmah during the Abbasid Caliphate and its relevance to the current era of educational digitalization. Employing a qualitative historical-conceptual approach through library research, the study finds that Bayt al-Hikmah served as a pioneering model of Islamic scholarship integrative, multidisciplinary, and open to diverse sources of knowledge across civilizations. Its curriculum emphasized critical thinking, practical scientific engagement, moral development, and intercultural academic dialogue. These foundational values remain deeply relevant in addressing the challenges of 21st century Islamic education. In the digital era, technology can be positioned not merely as a tool but as a medium to revive and modernize the intellectual spirit of classical Islam. By adopting the principles of Bayt al-Hikmah, digital education can promote inclusive knowledge exchange, character formation, and cross-institutional collaboration. Thus, digital transformation in Islamic education should not only aim at technological advancement but also at restoring the rich intellectual tradition that once shaped Islamic civilization.
