Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between leadership and organizational culture on the performance of the Banten Shipping Polytechnic instructor. The method used is descriptive quantitative with a sample of 40 teachers at Poltekpel Banten. Data was collected through questionnaires distributed via google form. The results showed that there was a positive influence between leadership and teacher performance, between organizational culture and teacher performance, and between leadership and organizational culture. Good leadership will affect organizational culture and teacher performance will be good too. Just as a good organizational culture will also have a good effect on teacher performance. That way, teachers are motivated and become loyal to the organization. In conclusion, leadership, organizational culture, and teacher performance influence each other. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media simulator dan metode pembelajaran terhadap prestasi taruna. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif yang sifatnya ekplanatif (penjelasan), yaitu menyoroti pengaruh antara variabel-variabel penelitian dan pengujian hipotesis yang telah dirumuskan sebelumnya. Populasi dalam penelitian ini, adalah jumlah taruna DP-III Angkatan III di lingkungan BP2IP Tangerang. Penelitian ini dilakukan oleh 64 responden, penelitian ini didasari atas perhitungan rumus Slovin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa korelasi Penggunaan Media Simulator dan Prestasi Belajar Taruna sebesar 0,747, korelasi Metode Pembelajaran Classical dan Prestasi Belajar Taruna sebesar 0,689, dan korelasi Penggunaan Media Simulator dan Metode Pembelajaran Classical sebesar 0,444. Nilai signifikansi ketiganya tercatat 0,000, dan 0,006 di bawah batas probabilitas 0,05. Karena itu, ketiga koefisien korelasi tersebut dinyatakan signifikan. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini adalah Media Simulator dan Metode Pembelajaran Classical secara langsung berpengaruh terhadap Prestasi belajar taruna di BP2IP Tangerang. Media simulator dan Metode Pembelajaran Classical terdapat hubungan secara positif dengan Prestasi belajar taruna di BP2IP Tangerang. Oleh karena itu semakin sering Media Simulator dan Metode Pembelajaran Classical dilaksanakan maka akan semakin berprestasi belajar taruna.

Abstract

Untuk menunjang proses penyimpanan dan pengawetan bahan makanan yang diperlukan dari mesin pendingin adalah mesin pendingin harus dalam keadaan baik. Dengan ketentuan untuk menyimpan sayur dan buah agar tetap segar diperlukan suhu ruangan antara 4°C sampai 10°C dan untuk ruangan daging dan ikan harus mampu menyediakan suhu antara -12°C sampai -18°C. Ada banyak kendala yang menyebabkan ruang pendingin menjadi tidak dingin. Salah satu syarat agar mesin pendingin dapat bekerja dengan baik adalah tidak terganggunya sirkulasi freon. Jika sirkulasi freon terganggu akan menyebabkan kapasitas penguapan bahan pendingin dalam evaporator juga akan menurun yang menyebabkan ruangan pendingin tidak mampu mencapai suhu pendinginan yang diinginkan. Ada banyak hal yang menyebabkan terganggunya sirkulasi freon. Jika gangguan-gangguan tersebut tidak segera diatasi dengan baik akan sangat merugikan. Maka, untuk mengurangi tingkat kerugian akibat kerusakan dan pembusukan bahan makanan, maka mesin pendingin harus dirawat dan dijaga dengan baik. Perawatan-perawatan yang ada dalam Instruction Manual Book harus dilakukan secara konsisten dan terencana baik perawatan harian,mingguan, 3 bulanan dan tahunan. Selain itu, masinis dituntut cepat dan tanggap jika terjadi kelainan kerja pada mesin pendingin. Satu hal lagi yang tidak boleh terlupakan adalah awak kapal harus selalu menjaga hubungan baik dengan perusahaan pemilik kapal. Peran perusahaan disini adalah dalam penyediaan suku cadang dan tenaga teknisi ahli dari darat jika diperlukan. Dalam hal ini permohonan suku cadang harus terstruktur dan terencana dengan baik.

Abstract

Dalam pelaksanaan di lapangan ditemukan kurang normalnya pelumasan terhadap mesin atau motor diesel. Yang disebabkan pompa minyak lumas tidak berfungsi dengan baik dan saringan minyak lumas kotor. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan ketika penulis melaksanakan praktek laut (prala) diatas kapal KM. Tidar milik perusahaan PT. Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia., Ltd   selama 12 bulan 13 hari yakni dari tanggal 11 November 2021 sampai dengan 24 November 2022. Sumber data yang diperoleh adalah data yang didapatkan langsung dari tempat penelitian dengan metode observasi dan juga metode kepustakaan berupa dokumen-dokumen, instruction manual book serta buku-buku yang berkaitan dengan judul penelitian. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah menurunnya tekanan minyak lumas pada mesin diesel generator disebabkan oleh adanya komponen minyak lumas yang aus, saringan minyak lumas yang kotor dan kebocoran terhadap instalasi minyak lumas.

Abstract

The character of the coastline is one of the important things to know, this is related to beaches where processes occur due to the influence of coastal conditions in achieving balance with the impacts that occur from natural factors and human activities. Geographically, the beach in the Banten shipping polytechnic area faces the open sea. Abrasion and accreation are very likely to occur on the coastline in the Banten Polytechnic area, soil texture and sedimentation have a big influence on changes in the coastline. This research aims to determine the characteristics of the coastline in the Banten Polytechnic area. The research method uses a descriptive method by tracking along the coastline and taking sediment samples using the methodpurposive sampling. Sampling was carried out in August 2023 with 3 observation stations and each station consisted of 4 observation points. Sample analysis uses the Granulometry method. The results of research on the character of the coastline in the Banten Shipping Polytechnic area show that there are thick piles of rubbish consisting of vegetation and the coastline is experiencing abrasion. The type of coastline sediment in the Banten Polytechnic area has an intermediate sand fraction (4.8%-80.8%) located at soil points A2 and C1, intermediate clay (2.4%-64%) located at soil points B4 and C3, and intermediate dust (15.2%-80.8%) is located at Soil points C1, C2, C3 and A2 with an average texture class having a clay fraction.

Abstract

The study, titled "Analysis of Factors Affecting Safety at Merak Port," aims to identify and analyze key factors influencing operational safety at Merak Port. This port is a strategic route linking Java and Sumatra, serving millions of passengers and vehicles annually. However, high activity levels and operational complexity present significant safety challenges. This research employs a qualitative case study approach, combining interviews, field observations, and document analysis. Quantitative data were also collected via questionnaires distributed to operators, workers, and passengers. Findings reveal that human factors, weather conditions, and infrastructure are critical to safety. Incidents in 2023, such as the KMP Royce 1 fire and a crane accident, underscore the need for enhanced risk management and infrastructure maintenance. The study concludes that gaps in safety training and compliance with safety procedures are key challenges. Additionally, extreme weather and suboptimal heavy equipment conditions increase operational risks. Recommendations include improving safety management practices, enhancing infrastructure maintenance, and providing regular training for workers to strengthen operational safety at Merak Port.

Abstract

Fuel consumption remains one of the most significant operational components in the maritime transportation sector, particularly on routes characterized by high vessel frequency such as Merak Bakauheni. This study aims to examine the efficiency of fuel utilization among four ferry vessels operating on this route two categorized as express ferries and two classified as regular ferries. Using a mixed-methods approach that integrates quantitative fuel-use analysis with qualitative evaluation of operational constraints, the research investigates how engine speed, power output, voyage duration, and port-related delays affect overall fuel efficiency. The findings demonstrate substantial differences in fuel consumption between the two ferry categories, largely influenced by engine load patterns and operational behavior. Furthermore, port congestion, limitations in jetty availability, and slow loading unloading procedures contribute significantly to additional fuel usage, particularly through prolonged auxiliary engine operation. These findings emphasize the need for an improved operational framework that includes speed optimization, more effective port coordination, and real-time monitoring mechanisms to minimize fuel waste and enhance maritime performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of technical personnel management in handling main engine failures during extreme weather conditions at sea. The main focus of this study is to assess the extent to which technical competence, communication, coordination, and preparedness of technical personnel contribute to the effectiveness of damage management. The method used is a descriptive quantitative approach with data collection through a closed-ended questionnaire based on a Likert scale. A total of 100 respondents who are ship engineering officers currently studying at a maritime campus were sampled. The results of the analysis show that the four independent variables (technical competence, communication, coordination, and preparedness) simultaneously have a significant effect on the effectiveness of handling main engine failures. From the results of the multiple linear regression test, the coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.897 indicates that 89.7% of the variation in damage management effectiveness can be explained by these four variables. This finding indicates that good technical personnel management plays a significant role in reducing the risk of engine system failure during extreme weather.
