Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dan mendeskripsikan kemampuan Problem Posing siswa kelas VII SMPN 4 Kintamani terutama pada dimensi kreatif. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh, diketahui bahwa siswa Kelas VII secara umum sudah mulai menunjukkan kreativitasnya dalam mengajukkan soal/pertanyaan berkaitan dengan matematika. Disamping itu, pemberian soal-soal matematika berbasis Ethnomathematics atau Mathematical Problem based Ethnomathematics (MPbE) memberikan warna tersendiri dalam diskusi kelas, karena bagi siswa merupakan hal baru. Mereka baru menyadari bahwa berbagai aktivitas agama dan budaya yang selama ini dilakukan berkaitan dan bahkan kaya dengan konsep-konsep matematika seperti yang mereka pelajari di sekolah. Kata kunci: Ethnomathematics, PBL, Problem Posing This is descriptive research. The research aims to explore and describe the ability of Problem-Posing of class VII students of State Junior High School 4 Kintamani notably in the creative dimension. Based on the data obtained, it is found out that generally, Class VII students started to demonstrate their creativity in asking questions/problem related to mathematics. Moreover, by giving mathematical Problem-based Ethnomathematics (MPbE) provides its own coloring in the class discussions, for it is new to the students. They have just realized that the various religious and cultural activities that had been carried out were related to and even rich in mathematical concepts just likewhat they had learned in school. Abstract

Asta Kosala Kosali merupakan gabungan dari Asta Kosala dan Asta Kosali. Asta Kosala adalah nama Lontar/Buku tentang ukuran membuat menara atau bangunan tinggi, wadah, bade, usungan mayat. Sedangkan, Asta Kosali adalah nama Lontar/Buku tentang ukuran membuat rumah. Terdapat berbagai macam konsep matematika yang termuat dalam ajaran tersebut, baik matematika sekolah ataupun matematika lanjut. Ajaran yang termuat dalam Asta Kosala Kosali melekat dalam aktivitas sehari-hari masyarakat Bali, baik Bali Mula maupun Bali pada umumnya. Ajaran tersebut sangat banyak diterapkan dalam bidang perumahan dan sistem religi. Oleh karena itu, ajaran yang temuat dalam Asta Kosala kosali termasuk dalam kajian antropologi budaya. Ukuran-ukuran yang dipakai dalam ajaran Asta Kosala Kosali menggunakan ukuran yang ada pada bagian-bagian tubuh manusia, seperti depa, cengkang, tampak, dan lain sebagainya. Memperhatikan kemajuan teknologi saat ini, maka ukuran tersebut dapat dimodelkan menggunakan pemodelan matematika. Ketika suatu ajaran dalam Asta Kosala Kosali dipandang sebagai irisan dari bidang ilmu antropologi budaya dan matematika dan pemodelan matematika maka ajaran itu disebut dengan Ethnomathematics. Setelah dilakukan eksplorasi, beberapa Ethnomathematics dalam ajaran yang termuat dalam Asta Kosala-kosali diantaranya tentang ukuran saka (pilar) yang berkatian dengan konsep regresi linier berganda atau fungsi linier, ukuran pekarangan rumah yang berkaitan dengan konsep perkalian dan bentuk persegi panjang, banyaknya likah atau banyaknya Iga-iga yang berkaitan dengan konsep modulo, serta ukuran-ukuran pada Saka (pilar) yang berkaitan dengan pecahan dan diagonal. Sebagai bagian dari pelestarian budaya dan pengembangan pendidikan matematika, sangat memungkinkan untuk memilah dan memetakan Ethnomathematics yang telah dieksplorasi kedalam konsep matematika sekolah dan dilanjutkan dengan mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran yang berkualitas sehingga dapat memperkaya khasanah pendidikan matematika di Indonesia dan dunia. Kata-kata Kunci: Ethnomathematics, Asta Kosala Kosali, Budaya, Matematika Sekolah  AbstractAsta Kosala Kosali is a combination of Asta Kosala and Asta Kosali. Asta Kosala is the name of Lontar or books about the size to make a tower or tall buildings, containers, Bade, and stretchers for the death bodies. Meanwhile, Asta Kosali is the name Lontar or books about the size to make a home. There are a variety of mathematical concepts contained in the doctrine, whether school math or advanced mathematics. Teachings contained in Asta Kosala Kosali inherent in the daily activities of the people of Bali, both Bali Mula and Bali in general. The teachings are very widely applied in the field of housing and religion system. Therefore, teaching which is found in Asta Kosala Kosali included in the study of cultural anthropology. The measures used in the teaching of Asta Kosala Kosali use the existing measures on parts of the human body, such as depa, cengkang, tampak, and so forth. Noting the advancement of technology today, then such measures can be modeled by using mathematical modeling. When a doctrine in the Asta Kosala Kosali seen as the intersection of science and mathematics cultural anthropology and mathematical modeling then it was called the Ethnomathematics. After exploration, some Ethnomathematics in the teachings contained in Asta Kosala-Kosali about the size of the Saka (pillars) which connect to the concept of multiple linear regression or linear function, the size of the yard is related to the concept of multiplication and rectangular shapes, many likah or number of ribs associated with modulo concept, as well as measures on Saka (pillars) that are associated with fractions and diagonal. As part of the cultural preservation and development of mathematics education, it is possible to sort and map Ethnomathematics which have been explored into the mathematical concept of school and continued to develop quality learning tools which can enrich mathematics education in Indonesia and the world. Keywords: Ethnomathematics, Asta Kosala Kosali, Culture, School Mathematics

Abstract

Program “INFANTERI MATEMATIKA”  bertujuan untuk menyediakan wahana bagi mahasiswa menerapkan pengetahuan yang diperoleh selama perkuliahan dan ikut berperan serta dalam pembangunan Sumber Daya Manusia di Wilayah Pedalaman, Perbatasan, Pesisir, dan Perkotaan (4P). Kata Infanteri dalam hal ini diartikan sebagai Kaum Intelektual Muda (mahasiswa) yang membuka jalan untuk perkembangan pendidikan matematika. Disebut pembuka jalan karena sasaran dari program ini adalah anak usia dini yang baru mulai mengenal matematika. Matematika dipilih sebagai muatan yang disampaikan karena matematika memberikan sumbangsih yang cukup besar dalam ilmu pengetahuan dan pengembangan pola pikir anak/generasi muda.            Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu mengikuti alur Penelitian dan Pengembangan (R&D). Adapun alurnya, yaitu diawali dengan Studi Pendahuluan, Penyusunan Program, Pengembangan Program, dan Validasi Program. Dalam pengembangan Program, dilakukan uji coba lapangan. Uji coba lapangan dilakukan dengan mengirim empat orang mahasiswa sebagai Infanteri Matematika (IfMat) ke empat sekolah sasaran yaitu SD N 08 Long Peso di Desa Long Buang (Pedalaman), SD N 06 Sebatik Tengah (Perbatasan), SD N 04 Biduk-biduk (Pesisir), dan SD N Utama Satu Tarakan (Perkotaan). Keempat IfMat bertugas mengenalkan Matematika kepada siswa kelas 1 di masing-masing sekolah sasaran.Setelah dilaksanakan seleksi, mahasiswa yang terpilih menjadi IfMat diantaranya: 1) Febriyan untuk wilayah Perbatasan, Kirin Esa Putri untuk wilayah Perkotaan, Ismail untuk wilayah Pedalaman, dan Lisa Rosalia Arisanti untuk wilayah Pesisir. Keempat mahasiswa tersebut melaksanakan Program Infanteri Matematika di wilayah masing-masing dengan subjek coba adalah anak usia pra-sekolah dan anak kelas 1 SD. Beberapa manfaat yang diberikan sebagai dampak dari program ini diantaranya memperbaiki kesalahan pemahaman siswa tentang penulisan lambang bilangan, melatih keterampilan siswa menulis lambang bilangan, mengajak siswa bermain yang berkaitan dengan kemampuan matematika. Penyebutan istilah matematika dalam proses pembelajaran sangat dikurangi, dan proses belajar sambil bermain diterapkan untuk menghindari konflik kognitif pada anak usia dini. Kata kunci: Perbatasan, Pedalaman, Pesisir, Perkotaan, Infanteri, Matematika, Pra-Sekolah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan konsep matematika peserta didik terhadap pembelajaran matematika berbasis etnomatematika dengan konteks gonrang sipitu-pitu. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas IX-1 di SMP Negeri 2 Dolok Pardamean Kabupaten Simalungun. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi, dimana peneliti sebagai instrumen utama yang berperan dalam mengumpulkan data melalui observasi, dokumentasi, angket, dan wawancara. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa respon peserta didik terhadap pembelajaran matematika dengan konteks gonrang sipitu-pitu pada materi geometri memperoleh hasil rata-rata sebesar 86 % siswa yang mampu menjawab pertanyaan atau lebih dari separuh siswa yang mampu, yang melibatkan konteks etnomatematika dengan konteks gonrang sipitu-pitu. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teshasil belajar, angket respon siswa, dan lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa berminat dengan pembelajaran matematika realistik berbasis etnomatematika dengan konteks gonrang sipitu-pitu.

Abstract

This research is a study of Ethnomathematics. In this case, we view Ethnomathematics as an intersection between mathematics, mathematical modelling, and cultural anthropology. The purpose of this study is to determine the average height of Bali Mula ancestors communities in the area of Ancient Caldera Batur. We use exploration, observation, experimentation, documentation, and interviews method. In the initial stage of the study, we determine the relationship between the finger length index and the height body of Bali Mula male. The linear regression equation expresses the relationship, which is a length of the index finger as a predictor variable. Moreover, measure the pillars width of some houses Saka Roras and substituting it, we have the regression equation. Consequently, we estimate the average height of the Bali Mula ancestors in Kintamani area are 165 cm. Since it contains linier regression concepts, prediction the average height of Bali Mula ancestors from their traditional homes may be used as the context in mathematical (statistical) learning at school or university.

Abstract

Mathematics remediation (MR) is crucial in higher education, serving as a cornerstone to prepare under-equipped students. However, numerous Mathematics Education students in one of the public universities in Indonesia have repeatedly failed in this program. Failure experiences have an essential role in pre-service mathematics teachers' personal and professional development. While some research has explored the students' failure experiences, a significant gap exists in exploring the perception of repeatedly failed students in MR. Our qualitative narrative case study delves into the perceptions of repeatedly failing students regarding the MR and their failures. Five themes emerged through analysis of reflective writing and interview data: perceptions of mathematics and its learning, perspectives on the MR program, attitudes toward failure, factors contributing to participant failures, and expectations for MR program development. This study provides valuable insights to enhance the effectiveness of MR, shedding light on the intricate dynamics surrounding students' experiences with the program.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to explore the quality of formative assessment of integer material using descriptive quantitative research. The quality of test item is reviewed based on the attributes of validity, reliability and item characteristics. Proving content validity uses Aiken's V, while the reliability coefficient estimation uses Cronbach's Alpha. estimation of item parameters using classical test theory assisted by ITEMAN 4.3 software. Based on the validation results, 11 of the 20 test items met the valid criteria, while the other items were invalid. The assessment instrument has high consistency in terms of the reliability coefficient of 0.797. The results of the item parameter estimation show that as many as 19 items have a level of difficulty that is in the medium category or stated to be good, because the level of difficulty lies in the interval 0.31-0.70. Based on the distinguishing power parameter, the eight test item were able to differentiate between high ability test taker and low ability (rpbis 0.30). Judgig from function of the distractor/distractors, the 14 items of the distractor answer distribution test functioned well (Prop.Endorsing = 0.05). The fulfillment of the item quality criteria in the formative assessment instrument shows that the instrument can be applied to monitor the development of students' learning procesess, because the instrument is able to provide reliable information regarding students' needs in whole number material and is able to describe students' abilities well.Keywords : Formative Assessment, ITEMAN. and Item QualityTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menelusuri kualitas asesmen formatif materi bilangan bulat dengan menggunakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif. Kualitas butir tes ditinjau berdasarkan atribut validitas, reliabilitas, dan karakteristik butir. Pembuktian validitas isi menggunakan V Aiken, sedangkan estimasi koefisien reliabilitas menggunakan alpha cronbach. Estimasi paramater butir menggunakan teori tes klasik berbantuan software ITEMAN 4.3. Berdasarkan hasil validasi, 11 dari butir 20 butir tes memenuhi kriteria valid, sedangkan butir lainnya tidak valid.  Instrumen asesmen memiliki konsistensi yang tinggi ditinjau dari koefisien reliabilitas sebesar 0,797. Hasil estimasi parameter butir menunjukkan sebanyak 19 butir soal tingkat kesukarannya berada pada kategori sedang atau dinyatakan baik, karena tingkat kesukaran terletak pada interval  0,31–0,70. Berdasarkan parameter daya pembeda, delapan butir tes mampu membedakan kemampuan peserta tes yang tinggi dan kemampuan rendah (rpbis 0,30). Ditinjau dari keberfungsian pengecoh/distraktor, 14 butir tes sebaran jawaban pengecohnya berfungsi dengan baik (Prop.Endorsing . Terpenuhinya kriteria kualitas butir pada instrumen asesmen formatif menunjukkan bahwa instrumen tersebut dapat diterapkan untuk memantau perkembangan proses pembelajaran peserta didik, karena instrumen mampu memberikan informasi yang terpercaya mengenai kebutuhan peserta didik pada materi bilangan bulat dan mampu menggambarkan kemampuan peserta didik dengan baik.Kata Kunci: Asesmen Formatif, ITEMAN, dan Kualitas Butir

Abstract

Inspiration plays a significant role in sparking or enhancing the learning motivation of prospective mathematics teachers (PMTs). Inspiration will also influence the mathematical identity of PMTs’ when they become professional mathematics teachers. A mathematics teacher educator (MTE) can be a source of inspiration for PMTs; hence, a study must identify and explain why an MTE is considered inspiring. This study attempts to develop the theory of inspiring MTEs profiles based on the experience of PMTs. This study included 21 students and 7 lecturers of the Mathematics Education Department in a public university in Indonesia. This qualitative research was conducted employing a grounded theory constructivist approach. The findings revealed that inspiring MTEs possessed the following characteristics: “creating a sense of comfort, being knowledgeable, being motivating, providing fun and enjoyable learning, imparting new insights and comprehension, and being disciplined and authoritative.” According to this theory, an inspiring MTE creates a sense of comfort through their gracious, friendly, humble, and humorous personality. Fun and enjoyable learning in this study is learning that provide a sense of comfort, fun learning, interactive learning, and carrying out evaluations. MTEs give new insight and understanding by explaining in detail, systematically, and easily understood, sharing creative ideas, and providing scaffolding. Implications of this finding are discussed.

Abstract

Learning mathematics requires a relevant context. Utilization of the right context can increase the connection between mathematics and other fields of science. One of the contexts that can be used is the cultural context. However, there are not many cultural contexts of the people of North Kalimantan that can be used in learning mathematics. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct qualitative research to explore mathematical concepts in Bening and Anyan of the Dayak Kenyah Community. This research is ethnographic research using the spiral model data analysis technique. Based on the results of the data analysis, it was found that there is a concept of tube volume, tube surface area, and tube nets in Bening. In addition, representations of tubes and prisms were also found in the form of Dayak Kenyah Woven. These findings can be used to enrich the process of learning mathematics at the primary or secondary education level, including at Vocational High Schools. The findings of this study can enrich the cultural context of learning mathematics and enable learning mathematics to be more meaningful.
