Abstract

This study aims to create and develop science learning media that can be used to stimulate aspects of cognitive development of children aged 5-6 years to help educators to convey material so that children also more easily understand the material presented by educators. The research was carried out on children aged 5-6 years in the even semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. Learning media is made in the form of Children's Worksheets (LKA), in which there are various science experiment activities for children aged 5-6 years. The type of research used is research and development (R and D), the research model used is the ADDIE research model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) which was adapted from Branch. The data collection techniques used were observation and questionnaires to determine the development of early childhood science learning media. Data analysis used effectiveness data analysis to determine the effectiveness of using science learning worksheets as stimulation of cognitive development aspects. The results of the effectiveness of using the development of science learning worksheets in 12 children obtained an average score of 87%. The score results are included in the "very good" category. Based on the results of the effectiveness of using the LKA for science learning, the provision of LKA for science learning is effective in stimulating the cognitive development of children aged 5-6 years.PPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat dan mengembangkan media pembelajaran sains yang dapat digunakan untuk menstimulasi aspek perkembangan kognitif anak usia 5-6 tahun sehingga membantu pendidik untuk menyampaikan materi agar anak juga lebih mudah memahami materi yang disampaikan oleh pendidik. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada anak usia 5-6 tahun di semester genap tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Media pembelajaran dibuat dalam bentuk Lembar Kerja Anak (LKA), dimana didalamnya terdapat berbagai kegiatan eksperimen sains untuk anak usia 5-6 tahun. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah research and development (R and D), model penelitian yang digunakan yaitu model penelitian ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) yang diadaptasi dari Branch. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu pengamatan (observasi) dan pemberian angket (kuesioner) untuk mengetahui pengembangan media pembelajaran sains anak usia dini. Analisis data menggunakan analisis data keefektifan  untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan LKA pembelajaran sains sebagai stimulasi aspek perkembangankognitif. Hasil efektivitas penggunaan pengembangan LKA pembelajaran sains pada 12 anak memperoleh rata-rata skor 87%. Hasil skor tersebut termasuk dalam kategori “sangat baik”. Berdasarkan hasil efektivitas penggunaan LKA pembelajaran sains tersebut, maka pemberian LKA pembelajaran sains efektif untuk menstimulasi perkembangan kognitif anak usia 5-6 tahun.

Abstract

This paper reports on a study which aims at describing the levels of teaching proficiency among the ECCE (Early Childhood Center Education) teachers based on their essential teaching skills in preparing lesson plans, carrying out teaching and learning activities, and assessing learning. This study involved ECCE teachers having a linear educational background (i.e., a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education) and those having a non-linear educational background (i.e., a non a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education). This study is descriptive quantitative in nature employing a survey design.  There were 170 ECCE teachers in Sawahan, Nganjuk, East Java participated in this study. Of these participants, 120 had a linear educational background and 50 had a non-linear educational background. The research data were collected using a questionnaire with 30 questions. The results of the study showed that among the teachers involved in the study, 85.88% could be said to be very proficient, 2.94% could be said to be proficient, 8.82% teachers could be said to be less proficient and 2.36% of the teachers could be said to be not proficient. There is no difference in the levels of teaching proficiency between teachers who have linear and non-linear educational background because teachers who do not have linear educational background have got competency enrichment opportunities through teacher trainings, seminars, sharing knowledges with colleagues, and practices in ECCE teacher organizations

Abstract

The aim of this community service (Abdimas) activity is to introduce numbers through the Smart Board for Kids learning media. The partners in this community service activity are TK Indriyasana VII which is part of the Dharma Ibu Surabaya Foundation which is located on Jl. Dukuh Kupang XXX/51 Surabaya. The Abdimas subjects this time are 10 students currently sitting in Kindergarten A. The implementation of this community service activity was carried out for 2 months and consisted of 2 stages, namely the media introduction stage and the media use stage. In stage 1, the author introduces the Smart Board for Kids learning media to children, then in stage 2 the children are asked to play games using the Smart Board for Kids and show excellent number recognition. In conclusion, the Smart Board for kids learning media can improve number recognition in early childhood

Abstract

Science can improve the welfare of society in order to build national civilization. Through science the quality of life of every human being increases. Knowledge can be obtained in various ways, one of which is through books. Books are needed by every individual to gain and increase knowledge. Gaining knowledge through books is done by reading. Reading is one way to understand all the information contained in the reading text to develop the reader's intellectual abilities. Considering the importance of reading for every individual's intellectual development, it is necessary to increase the culture of reading from an early age. The initial reading stage starts from recognizing letters, spelling vocabulary, reading words and reading sentences. The initial reading stage will feel more difficult or complicated because the child does not yet understand the sounds and symbols of letters. Difficulties or complications in reading need to be anticipated in various ways, one way that can be done is by using interesting media. This community service, Stimulating Letter Recognition through Letter Dermolen Learning Media, aims to stimulate language development, especially in letter recognition using Letter Dermolen media. Stimulation of letter recognition is carried out in every lesson to improve the reading skills of children aged 5-6 years old at Avicenna Kindergarten

Abstract

The aim of this community service activity (Abdimas) is to provide training to PPT Mutiara Bunda Ondomohen teachers to get to know the basic concepts of Computational Thinking (CT) and to infuse them in the subjects taught so that they can provide CT skills to solve complex problems in everyday life -student day. The partners in community service activities are the mothers of PPT Mutiara Bunda Ondomohen PAUD, totaling 4 people. The implementation of this community service activity was carried out over 8 meetings within one month and consisted of 2 stages, namely the stage of introducing CT and making educational game tools (APE) that support CT in learning as well as the stage of using CT-based APE media in the classroom. The conclusion is that the training carried out for PPT Mutiara Bunda Ondomohen teachers can improve the teachers' skills in infusing CT into subjects.

Abstract

This activity is designed to improve teachers' understanding of CT concepts and principles, as well as practical skills in designing interactive and engaging CT-based learning media. The training lasted for five days, divided into two stages, where participants were taught about CT components, such as decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithms, and how to integrate them into learning according to the child's developmental stage. Through this community service, teachers had the opportunity to share experiences and ideas and provide constructive feedback to each other. This community service shows that the training has succeeded in improving the knowledge and skills of Avicenna Kindergarten teachers in creating Computational Thinking (CT)-based learning media. In addition, the media produced is expected to help children develop problem-solving skills, critical, creative, and analytical thinking from an early age. Thus, this activity is a significant initial step to improve the quality of education at Avicenna Kindergarten Surabaya and prepare children to face challenges in the digital era.

Abstract

Salah satu cara untuk memperkuat pembelajaran pada anak usia dini adalah melalui penggunaan media pembelajaran yang menyenangkan, interaktif, dan sesuai dengan tahap perkembangan anak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas Cheerful Number Machine terhadap pemahaman konsep matematika anak usia dini. CINUMA merupakan media pembelajaran interaktif yang dirancang untuk membantu anak mempelajari konsep dasar matematika secara menyenangkan dan menarik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok eksperimen yang mendapatkan treatment menggunakan media CINUMA dan kelompok kontrol yang tidak menggunakan media tersebut. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pretest dan posttest yang dirancang untuk mengukur pemahaman konsep matematika anak sebelum dan sesudah pemberian treatment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kedua kelompok. Anak yang mendapatkan treatment dengan media CINUMA menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman matematika yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan anak pada kelompok kontrol. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media CINUMA efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif anak usia dini, khususnya dalam memahami konsep angka, berhitung, dan mencocokkan bilangan.
