Abstract

Petroleum is one of natural resources. Provinsi Riau is one of the petroleum producers in Indonesia. Exploitationsuch as petroleum drilling can result in pollution on the lands in the area around drilling. One method of processing contaminated oil waste that is relatively economical, easy and environmentally friendly is bioremediation. This research aims to process oil-polluted soil with bioremediationusing vermikomposting techniques. The study was conducted by varying the ratio of the weight of polluted soil with vermikompos, 1:2; 1:1; 2:1 (b/b). Observations were made over 49 days. During the study pH values, temperature, and water content were observed. The results showed the best results in reactors with a ratio ofpolluted soil and vermikompos (1:2) w/w, with an additional 20 worms with an allowance efficiency of 85.19%. pH values during observation ranged from 7-8, temperatures were 25ºC, and water levels fluctuated from 81-141%. The addition of 5% of rice husks to reactors with polluted soil composition: vermikompos (1:2) can increase the efficiency of the allowance to 90.05%.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to investigate the use of deixis by teachers and the floating of maxim in EFL classroom videos. It is hopefully will be useful for the institution where the researcher studies, for other students, other researchers, or readers in general. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. There are four videos which were used as source of data. In collecting the data, the researcher transcribes the videos, classify the data based on types of deixis and maxim. After all of the data were collected, the researcher analyze the data and draw the conclusion. The result of this research can be seen as follows: (1) There are found 996 deixis used by teachers in EFL classroom videos, which consist of 617 person deixis, 217 discourse deisis, 124 temporal deixis, 24 spatial deixis, and 14 social deixis. (2) There are found 119 maxims floated in the videos, which consist of 68 maxim of quantity floated, 28 maxim of relation floated, 14 maxim of quality floated, and 9 maxim of manner floated. Those results show that the most dominant type of deixis used is Person Deixis, and the most dominant type of maxim floated is Maxim of Quantity.

Abstract

Batu Baras Cave, located in Bangkalan Dayak Village, is an archaeological site in the limestone hill area of Kotabaru Regency, South Kalimantan. Kalimantan prehistoric times have not been established as well as in Java. Recent publications reveal human occupation in the Preneolithic-Paleometallic period in the Kotabaru karst, including in Batu Cave, Cililin Cave 1, Jauharlin Cave 1, and Batu Baras Cave. This article describes the variability of archaeological findings to reveal that human occupation occurred in Batu Baras Cave. Morphological and stylistic analysis aims to illustrate the variety of archaeological data found. We used several approaches to compile the interpretation, including zooarchaeology, paleoanthropology, and spatial. Our result reveals that human occupation in Batu Baras Cave occurred in the early Prenolithic-Neolithic period in 12,402-4,230 calBP. Batu Baras Cave became a dwelling and burial site for the Australomelanesid population in the Preneolithic. The Austronesians inhabited Batu Baras Cave in the Neolithic.

Abstract

Corruption remains one of the most significant challenges to sustainable development in Indonesia, undermining economic growth, social justice, and political integrity. The younger generation plays a crucial role in shaping a culture of anti-corruption that can help address this issue. As digital natives, this generation is well-equipped with the tools and skills necessary to advocate for transparency, accountability, and integrity. This research aims to explore the vital contributions of the youth in combating corruption and establishing an anti-corruption culture in Indonesia. The study highlights the importance of education in embedding anti-corruption values, focusing on both formal and informal education systems. Integrating anti-corruption teachings into school curricula is essential for fostering a sense of responsibility and ethical awareness among young individuals. Ultimately, this paper argues that the younger generation is not only the future of Indonesia but also its most powerful ally in the fight against corruption. Their involvement in anti-corruption initiatives can transform Indonesia into a more just, transparent, and accouable society.
