Abstract

Abstract

Road safety is an important issue in land transportation, with the number of accidents in Indonesia increasing as the number of roads and vehicles increases. This study aims to evaluate the suitability of the geometric design of bends on the Cisumdawu Toll Road at KM 202-208 with the latest standards that can accommodate the safety and comfort aspects of road users. The bend design generally refers to the old standard  and is not fully compliant with Road Geometric Design Guidelines  (PDGJ 2021). There are significant differences between existing data and idealized calculations, especially in vehicle comfort. Therefore, design improvements, such as spiral and superelevation lengths, as well as safety facilities, are highly recommended to optimize road geometric performance and improve the safety of toll road users.

Abstract

Rapid economic growth has driven increased infrastructure development, including the construction of lecture halls. In the implementation of construction projects, deviations between plans and actual outcomes are often encountered, both in terms of cost and time. This research aims to evaluate the cost and time performance of the construction project for the Academic Building at Campus X using the Earned Value Analysis (EVA) method. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach. Data were collected from project documents such as the Bill of Quantities (BoQ), Project Implementation Plan (PIP), time schedule, and monthly reports. Performance indicators, such as the Schedule Performance Index (SPI) and Cost Performance Index (CPI), were analyzed to evaluate time and cost efficiency. The analysis results show that the project is cost-efficient, with the CPI value consistently above 1, peaking at 1.382. Time performance is relatively good, although there were minor delays in the 4th and 11th months, with the SPI value ranging from 0.96 to 2.72. The project was successfully completed within 12 months as originally planned. The final cost estimate (Estimate at Completion) of Rp 28,433,930,871.17 was lower than the initial budget (Budget at Completion) of Rp 33,793,610,189.25, resulting in an efficiency of 15.86%. This research concludes that EVA is an effective tool for quantitatively evaluating project performance, providing a clear picture of cost and time deviations, and can serve as a reference for project managers in making strategic decisions.

Abstract

As the volume of vehicles on toll roads and non-toll roads increases, congestion occurs when the road capacity can no longer accommodate the volume of vehicles passing through it. one of the most crowded toll roads in Indonesia is the Jagorawi Toll Road. Congestion often occurs at several points along the Jagorawi Toll Road, especially the Cililitan Toll Gate. Congestion at the Toll Gate often occurs because the level of service at the Toll Gate does not match the level of vehicle arrivals during peak hours. Therefore, in the research “Analysis of Multi lane Free Flow Implementation at Toll Gates in Indonesia (Case Study of Cililitan Toll Gate 2)”, this study aims to determine the performance and impact on vehicles at Cililitan Toll Gate 2 that are still using E-Toll and its effect on Vehicle Operating Costs (VOC) if the E-Toll system and MLFF system are installed at Cililitan Toll Gate 2. Therefore, using the analysis method with the help of Microsoft Excel can analyze data on the performance of E-Toll and VOC and survey data processing using SPSS. Based on the research findings, on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 has a delay time on the E-Toll payment system of 49 seconds. And also obtained the value of VOC when MLFF is applied (at a speed of 60 km / h) is lower than the value of VOC when E-Toll is applied (at a speed of 9.72 km / h) resulting in congestion costs of Rp. 3,653.75 / km for passenger cars, Rp. 1,113.66 / km for medium vehicles, Rp. 4,014.32 / km for large buses and Rp. 8,045.89 / km for large trucks.

Abstract

Logistics activities urgently require integration from both infrastructure and management aspects, while logistics activities are currently partial and the development is spread across various Ministries. Therefore, strong governance is needed to support the effective implementation of coordination and to harmonize and integrate all national logistics system development policies. The purpose of this study is to identify the actors participating in the management of the multimodal logistics transportation system, examine the challenges associated with multimodal transportation institution coordination, and determine the function of each actor in multimodal transportation. The success of multimodal transportation in Tanjung Priok’s port as the biggest port in Indonesia has been proven to be hampered due to elements of conflict of interest and adverse selection of informal institutions, according to the findings of the analysis related to the role of actors and problems related to multimodal transportation institutions at ports in Indonesia. Therefore, it is necessary to develop strategies from short to long terms, such as creating a special coordination forum or institution that is ad-hoc in nature for 2-3 years until the core problems of multimodal logistics are completed with the form of the institutional structure being structural and functional, developing a code of ethics to ensure consistent implementation of the long-term agenda, including commitments from institutional coordination of multimodal transport, and to establish permanent institutions as coordination platforms and 'network' organizations to facilitate the strategy of the 'long-term relational contract' concept where the network's focus on practical coordination should be widened and deepened to include more policy coordination until the core problems of multimodal logistics are resolved through institutional forms in the form of Constitution

Abstract

The development of railway transportation in Indonesia requires continuous improvement in infrastructure quality to support higher train speeds while maintaining safety and comfort. PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), through the Directorate General of Railways, plans to increase the maximum train speed from 120 km/h to 160 km/h. This study aims to analyze the railway track geometry on horizontal curve alignment in relation to the planned speed upgrade. The research was carried out on horizontal curve No. 21 at KM 201+064 to KM 201+584, located on the down track between Kertasmaya and Arjawinangun Stations in the Cikampek–Cirebon corridor (Operational Area 3 Cirebon), with a 1067 mm track gauge. The analysis includes curve radius, curve length, tangent angle, mid-ordinate, and rail superelevation, referring to PD No. 10A (2016) and Ministry of Transportation Regulations No. 32/2011 and No. 60/2012. The results show that the existing curve radius of 750 meters does not meet the minimum requirement of 800 meters for the 160 km/h design speed. Adjustments to superelevation and mid-ordinate values are required to ensure stability and ride comfort. Therefore, a realignment or redesign of the curve geometry is needed to achieve safe and efficient operation. This study is expected to serve as a technical reference for future railway speed enhancement projects and contribute to the advancement of railway engineering, particularly in track geometry analysis and design

Abstract

Industrial areas are characterized by high trip generation and attraction due to the daily routine mobility of workers. This condition requires an efficient transportation system and an understanding of mode choice behavior. This study aims to understand workers’ travel characteristics, identify the factors influencing mode choice decisions, and estimate the probability of choosing motorcycles, online transportation, and employee shuttle services through the application of the Multinomial Logit (MNL) model. The research data were obtained by distributing questionnaires to 100 workers in the Pabedilan Industrial Area, Cirebon Regency, using a revealed preference approach. The analyzed variables included travel cost, distance, and travel time. The analysis was conducted using SPSS software, with model testing through multicollinearity tests, likelihood ratio tests, parameter estimation, pseudo R-square, and goodness-of-fit tests. The analysis findings show that travel cost and distance have a significant influence on mode choice, while travel time does not have a significant effect. Motorcycles have the highest choice probability at 84.2 percent, followed by employee shuttle services at 15.8 percent, while online transportation has a very small or nearly zero probability, at 0.0 percent. Practically, the results of this study can serve as a basis for policymakers to increase the attractiveness of employee shuttle services through cost efficiency and route adjustments that better align with workers’ travel patterns.

Abstract

This study examines how multimodal freight transport can improve urban and rural connectivity and promote balanced regional development in the Ciayumajakuning region of West Java, Indonesia, comprising Cirebon, Indramayu, Majalengka, and Kuningan. Although the region has strong industrial and agricultural potential, fragmented logistics systems and poor transport integration continue to constrain economic growth. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, combining spatial and temporal analysis using secondary data from regional planning documents, national logistics statistics, GIS mapping, and stakeholder interviews. The study evaluated transport development from 2010 to 2025, compared district performance, and identified infrastructure gaps affecting regional economic integration. The findings indicate that road infrastructure has received the largest investment, improving connectivity in urban areas such as Cirebon. However, rural districts, particularly Indramayu and Kuningan, continue to experience inadequate transport infrastructure and weak integration between road, rail, and maritime networks. Limited port capacity, insufficient rail connections, and heavy dependence on road transport increase logistics costs and reduce efficiency. The results demonstrate that stronger multimodal connectivity enhances market access, reduces transportation costs, and accelerates freight movement between urban and rural areas. The study recommends developing integrated logistics hubs, expanding rail and port infrastructure, strengthening public private partnerships, and improving coordination between national and regional transport policies. These strategies can support more inclusive regional development and provide a practical model for sustainable logistics integration in emerging economic regions of Indonesia.
