Abstract

One of the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic is that all activities are carried out at home, both work and study. This causes muscle and joint pain due to public ignorance about the importance of posture and body position during work and study. The purpose of this article is to determine and evaluate the level of public knowledge about the problems and causes of musculoskeletal disorders that arise during Work from Home (WFH) and School from Home (SFH). This community service method uses a quasi-experimental method by giving pre-test and post-test to assess whether there is an increase in knowledge after being given education through online seminars. From a sample of 108 people, it shows that there is an increase in knowledge about the problems and causes of musculoskeletal disorders that arise during Work from Home (WFH) and School from Home (SFH) during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Abstract

Background: Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) is a malalignment vertebra that occurs in adolescence and develops at 11 – 18 years old. This condition could worsen due to poor posture habits and heavy load on one side during daily activities. This study aims to examine whether the prototype health education impacted the quality of life of students with scoliosis. Methods: This research used quasi-experimental with pre-test and post-test design. This study's population was all Public Junior High School students in 289 Jakarta. Moreover, a purposive sampling technique was used. Fifteen students participated and completed all the interventions. The participant conducted a posture assessment using a postural grid, and then the degree of the spine curve was measured using a scoliometer, and the pain was measured by the Visual Analog Scale (VAS). For evaluation, it will focus on knowledge about scoliosis, posture, pain level, and quality of life. Results: The Wilcoxon test shows significant differences between before and after the intervention on the knowledge (p<0.001; z = -3.535), degree of scoliosis (p<0.5; z = -2.264), pain level (p<0.5; z = -2.232 ), and quality of life scores (p<0.01; z = -2.848). A pre-test and post-test correlation test was carried out using the Spearman test. There was a correlation between pain and the student's quality of life (r=0.551). Conclusion: The prototype in this study could improve knowledge significantly but did not significantly improve students' quality of life. However, it showed that reducing pain could improve the quality of life for students with scoliosis.

Abstract

Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) adalah salah satu ligamen yang paling sering mengalami cedera pada area lutut, baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung dan sering kali tidak hanya satu ligament yang rusak akibat cedera tunggal. Cedera ACL dibagi menjadi 2 yaitu cedera kontak dan non-kontak, pada penelitian ini penulis ingin membahas mekanisme cedera ACL secara non-kontak yang berdasarkan kondisi dan kejadian pasien yang berada di RS Hermina Depok. Kejadian mekanisme cedera ACL yang paling banyak adalah non-kontak. Mekanisme kejadian cedera ACL non-kontak yang paling sering terjadi karena adanya mekanisme rotasional ketika tibia mengalami eksorotasi pada saat kaki menapak dan adanya hiperekstensi paksa pada lutut. Bertujuan untuk mengetahui penatalaksanaan fisioterapi dengan modalitas TENS dan Terapi Latihan pada kasus post operasi rekonstruksi ACL sinistra dalam mengurangi nyeri gerak, menambah lingkup gerak sendi dan meningkatkan kekuatan otot. Setelah dilakukan terapi selama 5 kali pertemuan didapatkan hasil adanya pengurangan nyeri gerak T1 (5) menjadi T5 (2), peningkatan LGS T1 (68◦) menjadi T5 (110◦) dan peningkatan kekuatan otot T1 (3) menjadi T5 (4). Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa penatalaksanaan Fisioterapi dengan modalitas TENS dan Terapi Latihan dapat mengurangi nyeri gerak, meningkatkan LGS dan peningkatan kekuatan otot pada pasien post operasi rekonstruksi ACL.
