Abstract

as a learning medium in the pandemic era. The implementation of this activity is carried out online and offline. The online method is used by utilizing Google Meeting. While the offline method is implemented in order to evaluate the use of Google Classroom. The implementation of this activity lasted for three meetings with Google Classroom material, this training used the google meet application and training using learning videos. Participants in this activity consisted of elementary school teachers under the auspices of the North Sumatra PAB Foundation. Based on the results of the activity analysis, it can be concluded that after this activity there was an increase in teacher understanding in using and applying Google Classroom learning media. This increase can be seen from; 1) The teacher's ability to provide material through google classroom; 2) the ability of teachers to provide assessments using Google Classroom; and 3) the ability to make ice breaker through learning videos uploaded to Google Classroom.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the Theoretical Model of Intelligence Integration in improving students’ self-directed learning in 21st-century mathematics education. The research addresses the problem that many students remain dependent on teacher guidance and have limited ability to regulate their own learning processes. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate whether integrating intellectual, emotional, and spiritual intelligence can strengthen students’ self-directed learning in mathematics. A quantitative approach using a true experimental posttest-only control group design was applied, involving 120 eighth-grade students divided equally into experimental and control groups through cluster random sampling. The experimental group received instruction based on the integration of multiple intelligences through stages of contextual problem orientation, self-awareness reflection, strategic problem solving, collaborative discussion, and reflective evaluation, while the control group received conventional instruction. Data were collected using a validated self-directed learning questionnaire measuring awareness, learning strategies, learning activities, evaluation, and interpersonal skills. Hypothesis testing used descriptive statistics, regression, and correlation analysis. The results show a substantial difference between groups and a strong regression effect (R² = 0.823), indicating that the model significantly improves students’ learning autonomy and provides a holistic framework for strengthening self-regulation in mathematics learning.

Abstract

Reading ability is a fundamental literacy skill that plays a crucial role in elementary students’ academic development. Nevertheless, many students continue to experience difficulties in reading fluency, reading speed, and reading comprehension, which may hinder their overall learning achievement. This study investigates the effectiveness of visual learning media in overcoming reading difficulties among 14 fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 060966 Medan City. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, involving 14 students, one classroom teacher, and one school principal as research participants. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation and were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana interactive model with the support of NVIVO 15 software. The findings indicate that visual learning media significantly enhanced students’ reading comprehension, motivation, concentration, and classroom engagement. Of the 14 students observed, 11 demonstrated noticeable improvement in understanding textual content after learning activities incorporated pictures and illustrations. Visual representations enabled students to interpret reading materials more concretely and meaningfully. However, limited digital facilities and insufficient technological competencies among teachers remained challenges to the optimal implementation of visual learning media. These findings highlight the practical value of integrating visual resources into elementary literacy instruction to support students experiencing reading difficulties.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a Problem-Based Learning (PBL)-based mathematics student worksheet (Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik/LKPD) that is valid, practical, and effective in improving the problem-solving skills of sixth-grade students at SDN 106155 Tandam Hilir on fraction topics. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4D development model, consisting of the define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. The research subjects included sixth-grade students, material experts, media experts, and classroom teachers. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and problem-solving ability tests. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques through validity, practicality, and effectiveness assessments. The findings indicated that the developed PBL-based mathematics worksheet met the feasibility criteria based on evaluations from material and media experts. The worksheet also received positive responses from teachers and students, indicating its practicality in classroom implementation. Furthermore, the use of the PBL-based worksheet improved students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities, as reflected in the increase in learning outcomes after the instructional process. Therefore, the developed PBL-based mathematics worksheet can be utilized as an innovative instructional material to support active, contextual, and student-centered mathematics learning in elementary schools.
