Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the effect of Balinese culture-based Student Worksheets (LKPD) on fourth-grade students’ mathematics learning outcomes. Using a one-group pretest-posttest design, 30 students from SD Negeri 1 Kemenuh participated in the study. The LKPD was designed by integrating mathematical concepts with Balinese cultural contexts, such as traditional dances and architecture, to make learning more engaging and relevant. Data were collected through pretests and posttests. The results showed a significant improvement in posttest scores (t = 18.49, p < 0.05), indicating that cultural integration helps students understand mathematical concepts more concretely and boosts learning motivation. The findings suggest that culture-based LKPD can be an effective tool in elementary mathematics instruction. However, effective implementation requires the active role of teachers in connecting mathematical concepts with the local cultural environment of the students

Abstract

Literacy is the ability to read, write, and communicate within the context of society, language, culture, and social relationships related to knowledge. At the elementary school level, literacy development forms the foundation for students' learning. The School Literacy Movement (GLS) engages the whole school community students, teachers, principals, education staff, supervisors, committees, mass media, and the local community. This study specifically examines the implementation of the School Literacy Movement through the reading corner program for grade IV B students at SD Negeri 1 Penatih, describing challenges and outcomes. This descriptive qualitative study involved teachers, grade IV B students, and the principal, focusing on the School Literacy Movement through reading corners. Data collection used triangulation: observation, interviews, and documentation. The study, conducted at SD Negeri 1 Penatih, found that each classroom has a reading corner at the back, which positively impacts class IV B students' reading interest and supports literacy activities.

Abstract

Education is an important factor in improving the quality of human resources. In science and social studies (IPAS) learning on energy sources material in grade IV at SD Negeri 2 Landih, Bangli Regency, several problems were found, including low student participation in discussions, lack of self-confidence in expressing opinions, and low learning motivation. Therefore, a learning model that encourages students’ active involvement is needed, one of which is the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. This study aims to determine: (1) the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in IPAS learning on energy sources material for grade IV at SD Negeri 2 Landih, Bangli Regency, (2) the obstacles and efforts in implementing the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model, and (3) the implications of implementing the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on the IPAS learning process on energy sources material. This study employed learning motivation theory and constructivism theory using a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model was carried out through planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. The obstacles found included low learning motivation, lack of students’ self-confidence, and limited learning time. Efforts to overcome these obstacles were carried out through motivation, discussion assistance, communication between teachers and students, and effective time management. The implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model had positive implications in increasing students’ curiosity, learning motivation, and learning outcomes.
