Abstract

Current development in number of MSMEs has not been matched by increase in quality of MSMEs, because some MSMEs still have problems recording and reporting financial transactions according to SAK, resulting in problems in applying for bank loans. Studies on several MSMEs in Tangsel show that problem occurs because of limited competence of MSME managers in field of financial accounting. To overcome this problem, community service activities were carried out by PKN STAN together with Bank Indonesia and Tangsel City Government, in form of socialization and training on the SIAPIK application, supported by visitations, assistance and consultations. This activity aims to make MSME managers able to understand and record financial transactions, to produce MSME financial reports in accordance with SAK with the help of SIAPIK application independently, and finally to be able to make economic decisions, especially regarding proposals for bank credit applications to improve and develop MSME businesses.

Abstract

Indonesia is among the top three countries globally with the highest tuberculosis  burden. During the past decades, Indonesian health authorities have struggled to improve tuberculosis care quality in health care facilities by optimizing the regulation and strengthening the private sector contributions. The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has hardly affected the Indonesian health care system, including the National Tuberculosis Control Program. While the end of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia is uncertain, the measure to control tuberculosis must not be weakened. Early identification and measurement of the problem size are essential to decide the most appropriate approach to maintain the sustainability of National Tuberculosis Control Program, particularly in health care facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic. This article points out the possible threats to the sustainability of TB care in Indonesia during the COVID-19 pandemic, including some approaches to overcome those problems.

Abstract

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a leading cause of global mortality, primarily driven by an abnormal inflammatory response to harmful particles and gases. This review explores the epigenetic mechanisms underlying COPD pathogenesis and their therapeutic implications. A comprehensive literature review was conducted, analyzing recent findings on DNA methylation, histone modifications, and noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs) in COPD. Key studies highlighting the impact of these epigenetic changes on inflammation, cellular responses, and disease progression were evaluated. Our review highlights that epigenetic modifications, such as DNA methylation and histone modifications, significantly impact gene expression without altering the DNA sequence. Cigarette smoking has been shown to influence both DNA methylation and histone acetylation, leading to inflammatory responses and the the exacerbation of COPD. These modifications contribute to chronic inflammation and disease progression, with alterations in histone acetylation, methylation, and phosphorylation playing critical roles in COPD pathogenesis. The interplay between epigenetic changes and environmental factors, particularly tobacco smoke, reveals a complex mechanism driving COPD progression. Aberrant gene expression linked to these epigenetic modifications suggests potential disease severity and progression biomarkers. Targeting these alterations offers novel therapeutic strategies. Emerging treatments, such as quercetin and theophylline, promise to restore normal cellular functions and effectively manage COPD. Future research should focus on elucidating these mechanisms further and developing targeted therapies to mitigate the impact of epigenetic modifications on COPD.
