Abstract

This study attempts to determine the level of the pastor's ministry, the level of the congregation's participation in worship, and whether there is a significant relationship between the pastor's ministry and the congregation's involvement in worship. The instrument used is a questionnaire for the pastor's ministry that was modified from Wentuk (2013), and a "self-made" questionnaire for the congregation's participation in worship. The study involved 100 church members from Gethsemane, Danuwudu, Orion, and Lembah Doa, and data was collected using a convenience sampling method. This study revealed that a pastor's ministry was within the high category. As a result, church services are frequently attended by the Gethsemane, Danuwudu, Orion, and Lembah Doa congregations. Additionally, there is a strong connection between the congregation's participation in worship and the pastor's ministry. It suggests that church members will participate actively in church services if the pastor invests a lot of time in the areas of pastoral care, preaching, and evangelism.

Abstract

This study is conducted to find out the level of students' self-esteem in learning English, and the level of students' happiness, and the main purpose is to find out if there is a significant correlation between students' self-esteem in learning English and their happiness. This study is quantitative and descriptive correlative. Two kinds of adapted questionnaires are used according to the nature of this study, and they are Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (1965) and The Children's Happiness Scale (Morgan, 2014). The participants of the study are the 141 students at selected private senior high school grade X in Airmadidi, who enroll in the first semester of the 2016/2017 academic school year. The findings show that the level of students' self-esteem in learning English and their level of happiness are high. Moreover, there is a significant correlation between students' self-esteem in learning English and their happiness. It is recommended that English teachers need to maintain the way they teach the students by creating friendly circumstances so the students can feel free to express their feelings in positive ways and the students may learn enjoyably.

Abstract

This quantitative, descriptive, and correlational study aims to see whether there is a connection between students' academic achievement and the styles of learning, auditory, and kinesthetics. This questionnaire was filled out by 100 respondents, and convenience sampling was used to gather the information. According to the results of a study, kinesthetics learning is the most common type of learning for students, and their academic achievement comes into the good range. The three types of learning—visual, auditory, and kinesthetic—do not significantly differ from one another. It is recommended that teachers promote participation from students during the teaching and learning process by creating simulations, demonstrations, and exercises to help students comprehend the information being taught.  Keywords: visual, auditory, kinesthetic, student academic achievement

Abstract

This study focuses on students' spiritual level and academic achievement. The instrument used is a questionnaire adopted from Umboh and Tebo (2015) regarding the level of spirituality. The total participants were 110 students from classes Xa, Xb, Xc, and Xd SMA X using the convenience sampling method. The results of this study revealed that the spiritual level of students and the level of academic achievement of students were in the high category. And there is a significant relationship between the level of student spirituality and student academic achievement. So, the higher the spiritual level of students, the higher their academic achievement of students. As a recommendation, because schools are educational institutions, teachers should pay attention to the spiritual development of students by involving students in spiritual activities. Abstract

This article aims to find a good solution for children whose families are not doing well, which can affect their social life, which is what is known as a "broken home." There are so many broken-home children who are in bad company or can't be controlled by their parents. And many people still think that children from broken homes are naughty and cannot be managed, so in the end, they will only become community trash. There are so many broken-home children who use this excuse to seek bad associations. Therefore, it is necessary to encourage and motivate both parents so that children do not experience this because of separation from their parents. This article was carried out using data collection techniques, namely related journals, and articles. Abstract

This article is a literature study that describes the concept of jealousy towards family, especially spouses and jealousy of God which is written in the Book of Exodus. To be understood, the author presents various information through related sources related to the topic and then explained descriptively. From the research that has been made, the concept of jealousy of a partner is different from the concept of jealousy of God based on general and Biblical views. Human jealousy can make it possible to sin and have some form of jealousy, whether at a young or old age, you will not be separated from this type of emotion. God's law helps human to reflect and breaking the law means not loving God. The Creator of mankind wanted His creation not to turn its back on the idols of the world. He cares about human; therefore, the law helps human not to sin, in this case helping human to obey so that there is no jealousy that will result in evil deeds against others and sins against God.

Abstract

Pergaulan bebas adalah perilaku sosial yang memiliki potensi merusak, dimana individu dapat terlibat dalam hubungan interpersonal tanpa komitmen yang formal atau keterikatan dalam hubungan pernikahan. Faktor-faktor pendorong pergaulan bebas termasuk pengawasan orang tua yang terbatas, pengarun dari media dan teknologi, serta tekanan teman sebaya. Adapun dampak dari melakukan hubungan yang tidak sehat ialah risiko kesehatan fisik dan mental, prestasi akademik yang menurun, serta adanya gangguan dalam hubungan sosial maupun keluarga. Pendidikan agama Kristen memiliki peran penting dalam mengatasi pergaulan bebas. Dalam pendidikan Kristen ini mengajarkan nilai-nilai kerohanian, dasar moral dan etika yang kuat, serta dapat memberikan pandangan terkait dengan harkat dan martabat manusia sebagai ciptaan Tuhan. Pendidikan dengan model ini juga dapat memberikan dukungan kepada para remaja untuk menjauhi perilaku pergaulan bebas dan dapat menjalani kehidupan yang lebih baik menurut ajaran agama Kristen. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan kajian kepustakaan untuk mencari tahu peran pendidikan agama dalam membentengi remaja dari pergaulan bebas. Sehingga tujuan dari artikel ini adalah untuk menyediakan pandangan tetnang faktor-faktor pendorong pergaulan bebas, dampak negatifnya dan peran dari pendidikan agama Kristen dalam mengatasi masalah ini.

Abstract

Dalam era teknologi yang semakin maju termasuk gadget, telah menjadi bagian yang tak terpisahkan dari kehidupan manusia. Tidak bisa dipungkiri banyak waktu yang terbuang diakibatkan oleh penggunaan gadget di dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Mulai dari anak kecil sampai orang dewasa terlibat dalam penggunaan gadget ini. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari tahu apa saja dampak penggunaan gadget terhadap kerohanian anak. Artikel ini menguraikan beberapa dampak positif dan negatif dalam penggunaan gadget terhadap pertumbuhan spiritual manusia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan kajian kepustakaan. Gadget memberikan manfaat yang signifikan dalam memfasilitasi komunikasi, memudahkan mengakses materi rohani, dan dapat mengatur jadwal dalam melangsungkan kegiatan-kegiatan rohani. Namun, penggunaan yang berlebihan atau tidak bijak dapat berdampak negatif seperti mengganggu kualitas dalam beribadah, menurunkan perhatian terhadap firman Tuhan dan merusak keseimbangan dalam kehidupan rohani. Orang tua memiliki peran pentin dalam mengawasi dan membimbing anak-anak dalam penggunaan gadget untuk memastikan pertumbuhan kerohanian mereka tidak terganggu. Kesimpulannya, penggunaan gadget ang bijak dan terkendali dapat memberikan manfaat bagi pertumbuhan kerohanian individu, begitu pula sebaliknya. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the correlation between students’ habit of watching English movie and their vocabulary mastery and used quantitative research. This study's respondents are 9th-grade students at SMP Advent Unklab Airmadidi, particularly those enrolled in the second semester of the academic year 2022/2023. This study is a descriptive and correlative design. The data was collected from 59 students from 9th grade of SMP Advent Unklab Airmadidi. Descriptive mean analysis and Pearson Product Coefficient Correlation were used to answer the research questions. The findings revealed that (1) the level of students’ habit of watching English movie was 4.30, indicating an often level; (2) the level of students’ vocabulary mastery was 4.29, indicating a high level; and (3) the p = 0.003 and r = 0.379, indicating that there is a significant correlation between students’ habit of watching English movie and their vocabulary mastery. And from the results show that there is a significant correlation between the two variables, and it is important for teachers to know that watching English movies is a good medium for students to learn English, especially for students’ vocabulary mastery.
