Abstract

This research is a quantitative study which aims to determine the description of critical thinking abilities in physics in terms of students' thinking styles. The thinking styles that will be used in this research are concrete sequential, abstract sequential, concrete random, and abstract random thinking styles. The sample in this research was all 37 students in class XI of SMAN 5 Wajo. Data collection techniques use thinking style tests and physics critical thinking ability tests. The thinking style instrument used in this research is an instrument developed by De Porter which consists of 15 numbers with four answer choices. Meanwhile, students' critical thinking abilities are in the form of test instruments. The research data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that students who had a dominant concrete sequential thinking style had the critical thinking category, students who had a dominant abstract sequential thinking style had a level of critical thinking ability in the very critical category, while students who had a dominant concrete random thinking style had The level of critical thinking ability is in the non-critical category, and students who have a dominant abstract random thinking style have the level of critical thinking ability in the moderately critical category.

Abstract

This research is a pre-experimental study which aims to find out how the visual learning outcomes of MAN 1 Makassar students are described after being taught using problem-based learning with experimental methods. The independent variable of this research is problem-based learning with experimental methods, while the dependent variable is the learning outcomes on the subject matter of harmonic vibrations. The subjects in this study were class X MIPA 1 as an experimental class with 37 students. The research data were obtained by giving a learning achievement test on harmonic vibration material that met valid criteria with 17 questions. The results of the descriptive analysis show that the average score of students who are taught using problem based learning with experimental methods is 13.51 with a standard deviation of 1.95. The category of learning outcomes obtained is in the "high" category and the highest proportion of cognitive domain levels in learning outcomes is in category C2 (understanding) and the lowest is in category C4 (analyzing).

Abstract

This research aims to see whether there is an influence of the problem-based learning model on students' problem-solving abilities in physics material at SMAN 9 Gowa. This research is Pre-Experimental research using One Group Pretest-Posttest Design so that only one class without control class. The population of this study were students of class XI MIPA 1 until XI MIPA 5. The research sample was taken using a simple random class technique, namely class XI MIPA 5 SMAN 9 Gowa. The research instrument is a test instrument for students' physics problem solving abilities in the form of 6 selected essays that use the valid criteria. The research results showed that the physics solving abilities of class XI MIPA 5 students before being taught by applying the problem based learning model were in the low problem category as indicated by the average score of 42.5. Problem solving ability of students before the application of the PBL model is 64% in the medium category, 32% in the low category and 4% in the very low category. The ability to solve physics problems of class XI MIPA 5 students after being taught by applying the problem based learning model is in the high category as shown by the average score of 61.7. Problem solving ability of students after applying the PBL model is 56% in the high category, and 44% in the medium category and nothing student have low and very low problem solving ability. In the pretest, problem solving ability has the lowest score is 19, the highest score is 47 and the average score is 42.5 which is in the medium category with a standard deviation is 6.7, while in the posttest, the lowest score is 50, the highest score is 75, and the average score is 61.7 which is in the high category with a standard deviation is 6.8. There was a significant increase in the physics problem solving abilities of class XI MIPA 5 students after being taught using the problem-based learning model with the N-Gain category = 0.34 (medium criteria).

Abstract

This research is pre-experimental research which aims to determine the increase in students' interest in learning and understanding of physics concepts after implementing the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model in physics subjects at SMA Negeri 1 Bone. This research uses One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The class that was the research subject was class XI MIPA 2. The total number of research subjects was 33 students. Data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel 2010 using descriptive analysis and N-Gain test analysis to see the increase in students' interest in learning and understanding of physics concepts by applying the PjBL model to static fluid material. Based on the results of research on interest in learning physics, the average pretest score was 88.78 and the posttest score was 126.45, and for understanding physics concepts, the pretest score was 10 and for the posttest it was 16.12. For the results of the N-Gain test analysis on interest in learning physics, it was found that 33.33% was in the high category and 66.67% was found in the medium category. For the results of the N-Gain test analysis on understanding physics concepts, 33.33% were in the high category and 66.67% were in the medium category. This proves that before implementing the PjBL model, students' interest in learning and understanding of physics concepts were in the medium category. and after implementing the PjBL model, students' interest in learning and understanding of physics concepts is in the high category. The PjBL model can increase interest in learning and understanding of physics concepts in class XI MIPA 2 students at SMAN 1 Bone.
