Abstract

Alternative energy has become a highly discussed topic nowadays. Therefore, the introduction of alternative energy sources must continue to be socialized to the general public to make it common place to use alternative energy in daily life. One of interesting alternative energy source for activity implementers is used cooking oil as an alternative energy source. The implementation of an alternative energy education seminar, particularly on used cooking oil, for the community of Dusun Kappe, Pinrang Regency, has successfully increased the curiosity of the community, as seen from the interest of community members attending and the numerous questions raised during the Q&A session. Thus, activities like this can be continued so that the general public can effectively utilize environmentally friendly materials available in nature as alternative energy sources that have undergone testing and feasibility assessments

Abstract

The use of simulation-based learning media has emerged as an innovative solution to address the limitations of physical facilities in basic electronics education. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of LED pattern simulations using Tinkercad as an interactive learning medium in improving students' understanding of basic electronics concepts. This research employed a pre-experimental approach involving 60 students enrolled in a Basic Physics course. Students were guided to design and test LED patterns using Tinkercad, followed by evaluations through understanding tests and questionnaires. The results indicated a significant improvement in students' average understanding scores, from 65 before the simulation to 75 after. Additionally, the majority of students (78%) found the simulation engaging and helpful in simplifying the learning process. Tinkercad simulations proved to provide instant feedback, support student exploration, and enable interactive self-directed learning. This study concludes that Tinkercad is effective as an innovative learning medium for teaching electronics circuit concepts and can serve as a relevant alternative in formal education and remote learning environments.

Abstract

Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) ini dilaksanakan di Asrama Dayung, Jalan Daeng Tata III, Kota Makassar, Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan, yang bertujuan untuk mengatasi berbagai permasalahan yang dihadapi anak-anak di Asrama Dayung, terutama dalam keterbatasan pengetahuan dan kemampuan dasar. Kehidupan di Asrama Dayung sering kali diwarnai oleh tantangan sosial, ekonomi, dan kesehatan, yang berdampak pada terbatasnya akses terhadap layanan dasar seperti pendidikan dan kesehatan. Oleh karena itu, pendidikan dan pengembangan keterampilan menjadi faktor penting dalam mengatasi permasalahan ini. Penyediaan pendidikan formal yang berkualitas serta pendirian pusat pendidikan dapat memberikan akses belajar yang lebih baik bagi anak-anak dan remaja di wilayah tersebut. Penulis berkerjasama dengan Komunitas social “Sigi Makassar” untuk menjalankan Program Carakde (Membaca, Aritmatika, Dakwah, dan English). Carakde dirancang sebagai wadah untuk mengembangkan kemampuan dasar bagi anak-anak dan remaja yang tertinggal secara signifikan dibandingkan anak-anak pada umumnya. Program ini dilaksanakan dalam bentuk kelas belajar dan bermain yang berfokus pada peningkatan kemampuan dasar. Hasil dari program menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan dalam kemampuan literasi, aritmatika, serta kesadaran sosial dan keagamaan di kalangan peserta. Program ini juga berhasil meningkatkan minat dan motivasi belajar anak-anak Asrama Dayung

Abstract

This research aims to design and simulate an automatic distance measuring system based on Arduino Uno, utilizing the HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor and a 16x2 LCD. The system was simulated within the Tinkercad virtual environment, enabling students to explore electronic concepts without relying on physical hardware. The simulation results demonstrated that the system could measure object distances accurately within a range of 2 cm to 400 cm, displaying the results in real time on the LCD. Tinkercad provides flexibility for experimentation, allowing students to understand the integration of hardware and software, including digital data processing and microcontroller programming. The system’s versatile applications include robotics, automatic parking systems, and distance-based security solutions. Despite its effectiveness, the system has limitations, such as sensitivity to environmental conditions and a restricted measurement range. Additional calibration is recommended to improve accuracy. Overall, the system offers an efficient and interactive approach to electronics education, equipping students with practical experience and enhancing their digital literacy. This study contributes to advancing technology-driven educational methods suited to the demands of the digital age.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mendampingi guru-guru di SMA Mahaputra Tello Makassar dalam menerapkan model lesson study sebagai strategi peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran fisika. Lesson study dipilih karena pendekatan kolaboratif ini mampu mendorong refleksi mendalam terhadap praktik mengajar, serta meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik dan profesionalisme guru. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi sosialisasi konsep lesson study, pelatihan perencanaan dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran berbasis lesson study, observasi kelas, serta refleksi bersama. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman guru terhadap prinsip dan tahapan lesson study, serta perbaikan dalam perencanaan dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran fisika yang lebih berpusat pada peserta didik. Kegiatan ini juga mendorong terjadinya kolaborasi dan budaya refleksi antar guru sebagai bagian dari upaya berkelanjutan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, penerapan lesson study terbukti efektif sebagai salah satu alternatif pengembangan profesionalisme guru fisika di tingkat sekolah menengah.

Abstract

Desalination can improve water quality, reduce water scarcity issues, and enhance both quality of life and economic conditions. Nuclear desalination is considered one of the viable sources for producing clean water, especially in arid or dry regions and coastal areas. Currently, several countries have shown interest in using nuclear energy for seawater desalination. This is because nuclear desalination is feasible and economically viable, as demonstrated by its implementation in various countries. The main advantage of utilizing nuclear technology in desalination is the availability of a large energy source, which enables efficient and sustainable desalination operations even in remote areas, leading to a renewed global interest in nuclear technology.
