Abstract

The Sejalan Group is one of the Bundo Kanduang Small and Medium Industry groups in Jorong Koto Simalanggang Nagari, Payakumbuh District, Limapuluh Kota Regency. This group consists of 13 housewives who focus on food processing, including processing noodles made from fruit, vegetables and other food ingredients. The aim of this activity is community empowerment carried out in Nagari Simanggang through the transfer of knowledge, skills and technology to increase the production of Sejalan Group noodles. The stages of community service activities include preparation, implementation, evaluation and reporting stages. The problems faced by the Sejalan Group in producing noodles are the drying process and the taste of the noodles. Drying is done naturally by drying in the sun. This affects the quantity and quality of the noodle products produced. The results obtained from this activity were an increase in the group's noodle production in line with the presence of a drying tool in the form of an oven. Apart from that, adding flavors to noodles with the addition of chicken and shrimp flavors is able to increase consumer appeal for noodle products and increase the income of the Sejalan Group. The addition of chicken and shrimp is also aimed at increasing the nutritional content of noodle products. From this activity, it can be concluded that the community service activities that have been carried out have had a positive effect on increasing the business of the women of the Sejalan Group.

Abstract

Nirwana Beach is one of the leading coastal tourism destinations in Padang City, offering significant potential for development as an educational and sustainable tourism area. However, the management of this area still faces various challenges, such as low community participation, limited environmental education facilities, and the lack of integration of conservation programs into tourism activities. This study aims to analyze conservation and environmental education strategies at Nirwana Beach to support sustainable coastal area management. The study was conducted using a quantitative approach using questionnaires with 100 respondents, supported by field observations and interviews with key informants. Data were analyzed descriptively and then followed by a SWOT analysis approach. The results showed that tourist awareness and concern for the environment were high (score >4.0), but educational facilities and community involvement were still limited. The SWOT analysis resulted in a total score of strengths (1.30), weaknesses (0.35), opportunities (1.22), and threats (0.52), placing conservation and education strategies in Quadrant I (aggressive strategies). The main recommended strategies include developing educational programs based on direct experience, providing environmental information facilities, involving local communities, and promoting the area as an environmentally friendly tourism destination. With its dominant potential strengths and opportunities, this area needs to be managed through multi-stakeholder synergy to create a tourist destination that is not only economically attractive, but also contributes to environmental conservation and public education

Abstract

The use of agricultural waste in poultry diets presents a sustainable solution to reduce feed costs and environmental waste. This study investigates the nutritional enhancement of banana peel flour (TKPF) and cassava peel flour (TKSF) through fermentation. The fermentation process significantly improved the crude protein content and metabolic energy of both by-products, with TKPF showing an increase in protein from 7.08% to 11.25% and metabolic energy from 2010 Kcal/kg to 3072.50 Kcal/kg. Similarly, TKSF exhibited a 30.56% increase in crude protein (from 11.84% to 15.46%) and a 68.5% increase in metabolic energy (from 1310 Kcal/kg to 2210 Kcal/kg). Both fermented products also demonstrated a reduction in crude fiber and anti-nutritional factors, making them more digestible and safer for poultry. The findings suggest that fermented banana and cassava peels can be used as cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional feed ingredients in poultry diets.
