Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of agricultural extension workers in the development of rice farming groups in Lerepako Village, Laeya Subdistrict, South Konawe Regency. This study is motivated by the importance of agricultural extension workers as a bridge between farmers and agricultural technology innovations in efforts to increase the productivity and independence of farming groups. The research variables include the role of agricultural extension workers and the development of farming groups. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach with data collection through questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation. The population in this study consists of all active members of farmer groups in Lerepako Village, totaling 195 people. Sampling was conducted randomly using the Slovin formula, with a sample size of 66 respondents. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistical methods and the Spearman's rank correlation test. The results of the study indicate that the role of agricultural extension workers in Lerepako Village is relatively high across all dimensions of the role measured. On the other hand, farmer group development also showed good results in terms of institutional capacity, agribusiness capabilities, and group functions. The Spearman's rank correlation test confirmed a significant positive relationship between the role of agricultural extension workers and farmer group development. This finding underscores that optimizing the role of extension workers directly impacts the strengthening of capacity and sustainability of farmer groups.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to assess the performance of agricultural extension workers in Kendari City. The population of this study comprised 63 agricultural extension workers in Kendari City. The sample was determined using the saturated sampling method, also known as census, which entailed the inclusion of the entire population. The data were collected using a variety of methods, including observation, a review of the literature, documentation, and interviews guided by questionnaires. The research variables are the performance of agricultural extension workers. The collected data is then subjected to quantitative analysis. The quantitative analysis process was executed by the Work Achievement Value (NPK) formula. The results indicated that the performance of agricultural extension workers in Kendari City was predominantly in the medium or good category, as evidenced by the mean value of the Work Achievement Score (NPK), which was recorded at 84.66. Consequently, agricultural extension workers have effectively implemented the three extension indicators, particularly in the preparation and evaluation stages, as outlined in the Minister of Agriculture Regulation Number 91/Permentan/OT.140/9-2013.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to ascertain the role of farmer groups and the capacity of wetland rice farmers in Integrated Pest Management (IPM). The population of this study comprised 27 individuals who engaged in wet-rice farming and were members of the farmer group in Wawoone Village. The research sample was determined using the census method. The data were collected using survey techniques, documentation, and interviews with the use of questionnaires. The present study will investigate the role of farmer groups and the capacity of wetland rice farmers. The results demonstrated that the role of farmer groups and the capacity of wet-rice farmers in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in Wawoone Village, South Wawonii District, Konawe Islands Regency have each been implemented quite well. A close relationship is exhibited by the role of farmer groups and the capacity of wet-rice farmers in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in Wawoone Village, as evidenced by a correlation coefficient value of 0.774. The efficacy of farmer groups is directly correlated with the capacity of wet-rice farmers to implement IPM.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the activities of agriculture teachers in Alebo Village, Konda District, South Konawe Regency. The objective is to evaluate the effectiveness of corn cultivation in Alebo Village, Konda District, South Konawe Regency. The research was carried out in Alebo Village, Konda District, Regency. Konawe Selatan is predominantly an area for the cultivation of corn and vegetables. The study was carried out between April and May 2023, utilising a sample of 20 farms. The analysis employed the class interval formula and Spearman rank correlation, utilising SPSS 25. This research utilises a quantitative approach, employing descriptive analysis and Spearman rank correlation for data examination. This research indicates that agricultural instructors in Alebo Village serve effectively as facilitators, motivators, innovators, and educators. The correlation coefficient generated in this study is significant. A significant association exists between the role of agricultural teachers and the success of farming companies in Alebo Village, Konda District, South Konawe Regency.

Abstract

This research aims to determine farmers' responses to the use of Bisi II corn seeds in Wakadia Village, Watopute District, Muna Regency. This research was carried out from February to March 2023 in Wakadia Village with 33 corn farmers as respondents who used Bisi II seeds selected by random sampling from 225 corn farmers. Data was collected using survey, interview and documentation techniques. The data analysis used in this research was measured using class intervals. The results of this research show that based on the results of the discussion regarding the analysis of farmers' responses to the use of Bisi II corn seeds in Wakadia Village, Watopute District, Muna Regency, it shows that farmers' responses to the use of Bisi II corn seeds are knowledge, attitudes and skills in the high category.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the sustainable food garden program (P2L) in supporting food security in Mekarjaya Village, Baito District, South Konawe Regency. The population in this study consists of all farmers participating in the P2L program, totaling 30 farmers. The sample was determined using the census method, i.e., all farmers. The study location was selected using the purposive method, i.e., deliberate selection. The study was conducted in Mekarjaya Village because this village has an optimally implemented Sustainable Food Garden Program (P2L). The analysis method used was quantitative descriptive analysis with the assistance of an effectiveness formula. The results of the study indicate that the P2L program is quite effective, particularly in terms of program understanding and tangible changes, but there are still challenges in terms of target accuracy and the sustainability of impacts.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of agricultural extension workers in rice farming in Horodopi Village, Mowewe District, East Kolaka Regency. The population of this study consists of all rice farmers in the village, totaling 206 people. The sample size was determined using the Slovin formula with a 10% margin of error, resulting in 69 people. The sample in this study was taken using the simple random sampling method. The data collection techniques used in this study include documentation, interviews, and surveys using questionnaires. The research variable is the role of agricultural extension officers. The data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis methods. The results of the study indicate that the role of agricultural extension officers in the village. The results of the study indicate that the role of agricultural extension workers in Horodopi Village, Mowewe District, is generally categorized as good in terms of their roles as facilitators, innovators, motivators, and educators. A total of 81.15% of respondents rated the role of extension workers as very good in supporting the process of rice farming. Extension workers are not only a source of information but also active companions who encourage farmers to adopt modern technologies such as the jajar legowo planting system, balanced fertilization, and the use of pest-resistant superior varieties. This success is supported by the extension workers' ability to build effective communication, understand local needs, and apply participatory methods that motivate farmers to be independent and innovative. The combination of their roles as facilitators, innovators, motivators, and educators significantly enhances farmers' productivity, participation, and well-being, while also providing a mentoring model that can be replicated in other agricultural areas to achieve sustainable rice farming.
