Abstract

The aim of this dedication are to improve the teachers’ pedagogy competence, to improve the teachers’ ability in applying teaching model in online learning. The activity in this study proposed participatory method. it means that the proposer and mitra are proactive in doing process activity. Moreover, the social approach also used by proposer for solve the primary problem in teaching learning online process that is in service of training and associating program. In getting data from this activity, the proposer distributed questionnaire to the participant to find out the three aspects as variable namely aspect of compatibility, usability, and satisfaction. One of media interaction that used in this dedication activity is google classroom. the output of this activity is expected form the teacher in adapting situation on some model of online learning process, implemented pedagogy digital on the teaching learning online process especially in using google classroom so it can also be facility for students collecting task assignment, for evaluating the students’ task. However, the teachers can provide persuasive approach to developing students’ learning. Furthermore, from this activity, the teachers’ able design learning module dealt with interactive and innovative model learning.

Abstract

This study sought to determine whether using a directional tracking strategy, which concentrated on level reading comprehension and included literal reading comprehension in terms of the primary idea and supporting notion, improved students' reading comprehension. The study was applicable pre-experimental research using pre- and post-text for one group. The researcher employed the entire sampling approach. 29 students from class XI of IPS Sma Al Jameah Pattuku served as the research sample. In both the pre-test and post-test, the researcher employed reading test practise as an instrument. The research findings indicated that directional tracking strategies can enhance students' comprehension of what they read. It was demonstrated by the fact that the pre-mean test's score, which was 65.36 and was rated as fair, improved by 21.05% to 79.12 and was rated as good. As a result, the student's reading comprehension in terms of the primary idea and supporting idea improved. Literal comprehension is the end result of improvement. The study discovered that (20.34%) had a higher value than (21.77%). This figure indicates that there was an improvement between the student's pre-test and post-test results. The application of the directional tracking strategy to enhance students' reading comprehension in the SMA Eleventh Grade was found to be effective. The Al Jameah Pattuku.

Abstract

This study intends to determine whether reading contextual internet-based instructional materials can help third-grade students at UPTD SMPN 10 Barru.With their literal understanding. Two cycles of classroom action research were used in the design of this study. Eight meetings made up each cycle. There were four meetings per cycle. The third graders at UPTD SMPN 10 Barru kab. Barru participated in this classroom action research during the 2022–2023 school year. The 27 students in class IX who made up the research subjects were used. The application evaluated their reading comprehension.The student's reading comprehension in cycles I and II increased in terms of various scores. At the conclusion of the second cycle, the kids showed improvement. According to the study's conclusions, using contextual internet-based instructional materials could help students' reading comprehension. Mean scores for students' literal comprehension of the major idea on the D-Test were 37,04, 57,41, and 87,96 respectively, whereas the mean scores for students' literal comprehension of the supporting idea on the D-Test were 55,56, 58,33, and 85,19 respectively. The study's conclusions showed that students' literal comprehension improved when contextual internet-based instructional materials were used.

Abstract

This research used a qualitative research design. The English teacher at SMAN 1 Enrekang's 11 IPA 1 grade served as the study's subject. In-depth interviews and observation were the research tools used to get the data. For both the interview and the field notes, the researcher utilized semi-structured questions. The five aspects of classroom management that were the focus of the study were discipline, rules and routines, relationships, engaged and motivated instruction, and physical design. The actual layout of the teacher's classroom had two separate seating configurations. The first arrangement was in tidy rows for when the teacher delivered lessons and made presentations. The second arrangement had separate tables set up for small group discussions. This demonstrated the teacher's flexibility in changing the seating position to accommodate various class activities. The teacher devised routines to encourage discipline and enthusiasm in the learning process, as well as a learning agreement with each student at the start of each lesson. The teacher used team-building exercises that required collaboration to reach a common objective as well as small group talks to encourage relationships among the students. In order to establish relationships with the pupils, the teacher also adopted a personal style, frequently encouraging them at the beginning of lessons and complimenting their efforts. The teacher used a variety of teaching tools, including a whiteboard for presentations and questioning and laptops and speakers for games, to keep the class interested and motivated.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the kinds of illocutionary utterances the teacher employs during instruction. This study's design is a qualitative one that use the descriptive approach. The dialogues that the teacher conducted while teaching and learning were the source of the research data. The research instrument was observation and recording, following which the researcher did a transcription and the researcher himself collected, processed and presented the data acquired in this study. The results demonstrate that the teacher engages in four different sorts of illocutionary acts: directive, representational, expressive, and commissive. The teacher employs 68 instances of this illocutionary behavior type. Directive was employed 32 times (47.05%), representational 16 times (23.52%), expressive 13 times (19.11), and commissive 3 times (4.41%) out of the 68 utterances. During the teaching and learning process, teachers often carry out directives. Because the use of directives in the teaching and learning process can be used to manage and control student behavior and activities. By using questioning, the teacher encourages more active participation from the class.

Abstract

This research focuses on to find out the student’s needs of the learning English accounting materials as accounting study program, and absolutely it will be contributed to develop syllabus of English accounting study program. The method of this study is mix-methods with quantitative and qualitative design. The subject of the research are the students in accounting Muhammadiyah University of Makassar. The instrument in this research are questionnaire and interview. A questionnaires and interview were constructed to find out the student’s perception of existing materials, the weaknesses, the need, and wants of the students to which a good and appropriate English book of Accounting. The findings showed that the students of accounting program need a specific material in term particular topics of accounting activity which has tight relationship with their study program. Other findings showed the students’ wants about clearly structures of materials in term input, Specific topic materials, language use, procedure, setting classes’ instruction, and feedback which are provided all on the course book. All findings would be contributed on a course book as the students’ guider in learning English.

Abstract

This article identifies a problem with students' ability to speak in public, especially in the use of English. Therefore, the researcher provides a method as a goal to improve the speaking ability of students specifically in the use of English. therefore, researching a method in this case Focus Group Discussion as a Communicative Activity in Improving Students' Speaking Skills at SMAN 5 Barru. From this article, speaking improvement can be contained from two things, namely looking at the conversation and how much vocabulary is used as a benchmark for improving students' speaking. The method used by the researcher is a quantitative research model with three stages, namely pre-test, treatment and post-test to obtain results. From these results, after being given the Focus Group Discussion method, there was an increase from before the method was given. Therefore, the Focus Group Discussion method is good to use in the learning process to improve students' speaking skills, especially in learning English.

Abstract

The primary objective of this research are to investigate the types of speech act used and produced through utterances in teaching process by lecturer in the class, and also need to know the influences of speech acts on students learning. The subject’s research goes to the lecturer and the English students at English department of Education Study Program of universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar. The data collected and analyzed through descriptive qualitative approach. The finding analyzed and displayed qualitatively. The findings showed up only two types of speech act used by lecturer namely; Locutionary act (expressive, directive) and Illocutionary act (assertive, directives, commisives, and expressives . Those are utterances used to function be a statement, command, asking question, and direction. Perlocutionary act itself showed up by students through their responding. The responses from students appeared in verbal by sentence, nonverbal by gestures, and any students gave responses both of them. Students claimed of The impact of the lecturers’ utterances on students’ Learning explained clearly namely can help the students to improve their understanding of implementation language competence, can increase their motivation in learning Pragmatic in English, enhance students to understanding speech act in term pragmatic in their communication, encourage them to imitate and practice speech act in appropriate way in communication and interaction both in the class and beyond the class. Hence, the use of speech act appropriately in teaching truly gave positive effect on communicative language teaching practices.
