Abstract

This study examined the story of Moses and Pharaoh as one of the Islamic narrative discourses in the Qur’an. Structural anthropology Claude Lévi-Strauss was used to analyze the story’s structure or nature of the mind. The results of the study explicate that the story of Moses and Pharaoh had a structure of “struggle plot to convey the truth”. Based on the episodes of the story showed a continuous transformation of structure and forms cylindrical triangle. Behind the story of Moses and Pharaoh was reflection of the developing culture in Islamic societies. First, there were some societies’ components in the struggle process of the faithful in conveying the truth, both theologically or socio-politically. Such as the actor of social change (Moses), masses of people (the people of Moses), authorities who refused the change (Pharaoh and his leaders) and opportunist intellectuals (the magicians before being defeated by Moses), and organic intellectuals (the magicians after believing in the truth of Moses). Second, the community’s culture was controlled by established authorities, the commitment of the truth will gain a refusal and despite resistance. The prerequisite to be able to undergo it was to confirm it rationally and empirically (according to the times).

Abstract

This paper aims to look at the construction of the word kafir in Sufism discourse using Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis approach. This paper examines the term kafir in the holy book Hâdzâ al-Kitâb Matn al-Hikam li Sayyidī Syaikh Ahmad ibn 'Athâillâh al-Sakandârî by kiai Sholeh Darat. The results of this discussion show that the word kafir in Sufism is not synonymous with non-Muslim but refers to tadbîr, lacut (beyond the limit) when feeling rich, and not grateful for God’s mercy. The construction of the word infidel is influenced by the Sunni Sufism style adopted by Kyai Sholeh Darat. The construction of the term kafir is also in order to maintain monotheism and optimism of Muslims during the difficult times experienced in the 19th century. This happened because of the impact of the policy of the forced cultivation system, the domination of the colonial government in all aspects of people's lives and the strengthening of the unequal economic structure and the structure of Javanese foedalism. The impact of the construction of kiai Sholeh Darat on the term kafir is not to worry about any worldly affairs such as sustenance and directing Muslim life to concentration on the path of worship such as science and spiritual activities which later gave birth to the strength of the pesantren and tarekat network in resisting colonialism.Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk melihat konstruksi kata kafir dalam diskursus tasawuf dengan menggunakan pendekatan analisis wacana kritis Norman Fairclough. Tulisan ini mengkaji kata kafir dalam kitab Hâdzâ al-Kitâb Matn al-Hikam li Sayyidī Syaikh Ahmad ibn 'Athâillâh al-Sakandârî karya kiai Sholeh Darat. Hasil dari pembahasan ini menunjukkan bahwa kata kafir dalam tasawuf tidak identik dengan non muslim melainkan merujuk pada tadbîr, lacut (melampaui batas) saat merasa kaya, dan tidak mensyukuri nikmat. Konstruksi kata kafir ini dipengaruhi corak tasawuf sunni yang dianut kiai Sholeh Darat. Konstruksi kata kafir juga dalam rangka memelihara ketauhidan dan optimisme umat Islam pada masa-masa sulit yang dialami di abad ke-19. Hal tersebut terjadi karena dampak kebijakan sistem tanam paksa, dominasi pemerintah kolonial pada seluruh aspek kehidupan masyarakat dan menguatnya struktur ekonomi yang timpang dan struktur foedalisme Jawa. Dampak dari konstruksi kiai Sholeh Darat atas term kafir yaitu tidak mengkhawatirkan setiap urusan duniawi seperti rezeki dan mengarahkan kehidupan muslim pada konsentrasi di jalur ibadah seperti ilmu pengetahuan dan aktivitas ruhani yang kelak melahirkan kekuatan jaringan pesantren dan tarekat dalam melawan kolonialisme.

Abstract

The need for energy for human life is a very natural thing. Energy is very closely related to human survival. However, the choice to use energy is in the hands of humans. This paper aims to examine the use of coal for fossil energy from the perspective of al-Ghazali's mashlahah. This research is a literature review that uses the Islamic legal philosophy approach to portray the use of coal. Data is gathered from various studies and surveys and analyzed through the lens of Mashallah al-Ghazali. The results of this study state that the maintenance of the right to life and the preservation of human life cannot be negotiated at any price. Coal and fossil fuel energy, although they have commercial value, boost economic growth, and promote people's welfare, have ecological impacts that pose threats to human survival. The use of coal as a fossil fuel is not in line with al-Ghazali's three levels of mashlahah, namely dharuriyah, hajiyah, and tahsinihyah. Renewable energy is seen as a viable alternative to fossil coal energy in reducing the impact of mafsadat, which endangers human life.

Abstract

Pengelolaan sampah yang belum maksimal menjadi tugas utama untuk segera diselesaikan, terutama dari skala terkecil yaitu limbah rumah tangga. Berbagai upaya dilakukan dalam rangka melindungi bumi, salah satunya adalah memanfaatkan kembali potensi limbah organik dalam rumah tangga menjadi berbagai produk multiguna, berprinsip green chemistry, dan bernilai ekonomi. Eco enzyme adalah cairan hasil fermentasi dari bahan-bahan sederhana, seperti gula merah, limbah organik, dan air. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah melakukan pelatihan pembuatan eco enzyme dari limbah organik menjadi barang multiguna, salah satunya sebagai pupuk cair. Mitra kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah komunitas ibu-ibu PKK warga perumahan Ayodya, desa Sekaran, Gunungpati, Semarang. Metode yang dilakukan adalah FGD (Forum Group Discussion) dan demonstrasi pelatihan pembuatan eco enzyme sebagai pupuk cair. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah meningkatnya pengetahuan masyarakat terkait pembuatan eco enzyme sebagai pupuk cair. Kegiatan ini penting dilakukan untuk mengelola limbah organik dan memberikan kontribusi nyata yaitu melindungi bumi dari pencemaran lingkungan. Abstract

Social and religious changes in the 19th century in Java were an important era in the history of Islamic education, especially pesantren in Indonesia. The aim of this research are to find out the condition and the model of pesantren in 19th century. The research method used is library research. The data were collected by the method of documentation then the data were analyzed using historical interpretation analysis (analysis-synthesis). The findings of this research are 1) the current of modernity movement and the emergence of Tarekat Naqsyabandiyah which was more Fiqh-oriented influenced the educational process in pesantren which taught a lot of Fiqh, 2) pesantren in the 19th century had seeds of how democracy in education, independence, skills education, national education and love for land and water, could be developed for the benefit of education today.

Abstract

Akumulasi aktivitas di luar kegiatan pembelajaran di sekolah menengah kejuruan pelayaran seringkali menyebabkan kelelahan fisik dan mental yang berdampak pada rendahnya tingkat konsentrasi dan kesiapsiagaan siswa dalam mengikuti proses pembelajaran. Pendekatan pembelajaran aktif menjadi salah satu alternatif untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut. Tim pengabdian Politeknik Maritim Negeri Indonesia melaksanakan kegiatan workshop dengan mengintegrasikan gamifikasi dan teknologi di SMK Pelayaran Wira Samudera Semarang untuk membantu menguatkan kapasitas guru dalam menyajikan pembelajaran aktif dan interaktif. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini terbagi menjadi 3 tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan workshop, dan evaluasi. Perencanaan dilakukan dengan matang dengan mempersiapkan alat dan bahan yang dibutuhkan selama workshop berlangsung. Kegiatan workshop disajikan dengan menerapkan model sharing knowledge, best practice, dan pemberian umpan balik. Selama workshop berlangsung, guru-guru SMK Pelayaran Wira Samudera berpartisipasi aktif menyampaikan ide-ide kreatif dan tanya jawab terkait strategi pembelajaran berbasis gamifikasi. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menunjukkan bahwa guru-guru SMK Pelayaran Wira Samudera memiliki komitmen tinggi untuk merancang kegiatan pembelajaran yang aktif dan interaktif dengan mengintegrasikan gamifikasi dan teknologi. Program lanjutan perlu yang intensif dan berkelanjutan perlu diterapkan untuk menguatkan kompetensi guru-guru SMK Pelayaran Wira Samudera.
