Abstract

Implementing electronic medical records (EMR) in Puskesmas faces various challenges and barriers that hinder system users. This study aims to identify the effects of individual and organizational factors on the implementation of EMR in Puskesmas located in Semarang City. The study was designed as a cross-sectional study and was conducted between August and September 2023. Participants were selected from five health centres representing five regions of Semarang city, and included 46 health professionals, including physicians, nurses, midwives, medical record keepers and IT staff. The survey was taken from a standardized questionnaire based on the Technology Acceptance Theory and Institutional Theory. The results showed that 34% of the respondents were between 20 and 30 years old, where 76.1% were female and 52.2% had a bachelor's degree, and were dominated by nurses, where the majority had 1-5 years of experience. The constant (a) of 1.770 indicates the value of the independent variables in increasing EMR usage. The regression coefficient of the individual factor variable of 0.207 has a positive effect on EMR implementation. Organisational factors negatively affect the implementation of EMR use. The test results found that individual factors partially and significantly (0.005 <0.05) affect the implementation of EMR utilised.

Abstract

The incidence of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) among adolescents in Semarang City increased from 242 cases in 2021 to 344 in 2022, highlighting a pressing need for effective preventive interventions. Peer education through Youth Health Cadres (KKR) is a promising strategy to address this issue. This community service program aimed to evaluate the impact of an educational intervention on DM-related knowledge among prospective KKRs at SMPN 12 Banyumanik. The program involved 20 students and was conducted through a single session comprising a pre-test, an interactive educational module on DM etiology and prevention, practical training, and a post-test. Knowledge was measured using a validated 20-item questionnaire. The results demonstrated the proportion of students achieving a 'good' knowledge level increased from 15% to 85%. In conclusion, the targeted educational intervention successfully enhanced the knowledge of Youth Health Cadres. This empowerment provides a critical foundation for their role as agents of change in disseminating DM prevention information within their school environment, contributing to broader public health efforts against the disease.

Abstract

The utilization of Electronic Medical Records (RME) in the management of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) offers a range of significant benefits, including improved patient monitoring, reduced medical errors, and improved patient safety. This study aims to review the effectiveness of RME in the management of CKD, identify obstacles in its implementation, and offer recommendations for increasing the use of RME. A qualitative approach was used in this study, with data obtained through in-depth interviews and document analysis. The results of the study show that RME makes it easier for medical personnel to access patient data quickly and accurately, which is very important in the management of CKD. Additionally, RME helps to reduce errors in drug prescription writing and ensure that the patient's medical history is well documented, improving the safety and quality of care received by patients. However, the implementation of RME still faces various obstacles such as high initial costs, resistance to changes from medical staff, and technical issues and interoperability. To address these challenges, it is recommended to provide ongoing training for medical staff, improve technological infrastructure, and support from hospital management
