Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between brand image and self esteem with online cosmetic product purchasing decisions. The rapid development of e-commerce has changed consumer behavior, particularly in the beauty industry. This study used a quantitative method involving 100 respondents who frequently purchase cosmetics online, purchasing twice a month. Data collection was conducted using a validated questionnaire, covering the brand image scale, self esteem, and purchasing decisions. The analysis technique used two-predictor regression and product moment. The results showed a significant positive relationship between brand image and self esteem with purchasing decisions. It can be concluded that the more positive the brand image and the higher a person's self esteem, the greater the likelihood of the individual making online cosmetic product purchasing decisions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between grit and self-regulation in learning to student engagement in students who receive full scholarships. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, with a total of 100 active undergraduate students from 36 universities who received full scholarships. Data collection was carried out using three instruments, namely the student engagement scale, grit scale, and self-regulation scale in learning. The results of the analysis show that there is a highly significant positive relationship between grit and self-regulation in learning towards student engagement, with a correlation coefficient value of 0.817 and a significance value of p = 0.001 (p < 0.01), and an effective contribution of 66.8%. Based on these findings, the major hypothesis in this study is accepted. Further analysis showed that the grit variable had a highly significant positive relationship with student engagement, with a correlation coefficient of 0.754 and a significance value of p = 0.001 (p < 0.01), and an effective contribution of 56.8%. Thus, the first minor hypothesis is accepted. Meanwhile, the self-regulation variable in learning also showed a significant positive relationship with student engagement, with a correlation coefficient of 0.786 and a p value = 0.001 (p < 0.01), and an effective contribution of 61.8%. Therefore, the second minor hypothesis was also accepted. Overall, the results of this study indicate that both grit and self-regulation in learning have a significant relationship with the level of student engagement in full scholarship students.

Abstract

Career decision making is an important developmental task for high school students, especially 12ᵗʰ-grade students preparing for future education and career pathways. However, many students still experience confusion in choosing suitable majors and career directions. This study aimed to examine the relationship between self-efficacy and conformity with career decision-making among high school students. A quantitative correlational method was employed, with career decision making as the dependent variable, while self-efficacy and conformity served as independent variables. The participants were 177 twelfth-grade students from SMA Negeri 2 Kudus selected through cluster random sampling. Data were collected using career decision-making, self-efficacy, and conformity scales, then analyzed using two-predictor regression and product-moment correlation. The findings revealed a highly significant relationship between self-efficacy, conformity, and career decision making (R = 0.712; p < 0.001), contributing effectively by 50.6%. Self-efficacy showed a positive and highly significant relationship with career decision making (r = 0.711; p < 0.001), whereas conformity was not significantly related to career decision making (r = -0.102; p = 0.178). These findings highlight the importance of enhancing students’ self-efficacy through career guidance services to support career decision-making and strengthen career information and exploration services.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between self-efficacy and future hope with career adaptability among final-year students, given the rising number of unemployed university graduates and the rapid transformation of the world of work driven by automation and digitalization. A quantitative approach with a correlational design was employed. The participants were 106 final-year students in Indonesia selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using career adaptability, self-efficacy, and future hope scales distributed via Likert-scale questionnaires through various social media, and analyzed using multiple regression and product-moment correlation with the aid of JASP 0.96 for Windows. The findings revealed a highly significant positive relationship between self-efficacy and future hope simultaneously with career adaptability (R=0.828; p<0.01). Partially, self-efficacy was positively related to career adaptability (R=0.764; p<0.01), as was future hope (R=0.747; p<0.01), with both variables contributing 68.6% to career adaptability. This study contributes empirically by integrating self-efficacy and future hope as psychological factors shaping career adaptability, while also serving as a foundation for higher education institutions in designing career development programs oriented toward students’ psychological aspect.
