Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk melatih kemampuan Bahasa Inggris para santri dan ulama di Kota Batam guna meningkatkan skor tes kemampuan bahasa Inggris mereka. Sertifikat kemampuan bahasa Inggris menjadi salah satu syarat yang paling umum untuk studi lanjut, khususnya jika ingin mendaftar pada program beasiswa. Sama seperti pendaftar lainnya, beberapa ulama dan santri kesulitan mencapai skor tes minimal yang dicantumkan dalam syarat pendaftaran beasiswa. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan pelatihan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris para santri dan ulama. Kegiatan pengabdian ini diselenggarakan ini sebanyak 7 kali pertemuan dengan metode hybrid, yaitu daring dan luring dengan memanfaatkan platform daring yaitu Google Form. Kuesioner diedarkan secara daring kepada para peserta untuk mengukur tingkat keberhasilan kegiatan. Hasil dari pelatihan ini menunjukkan tanggapan positif terhadap kegiatan pelatihan ini. Kesan positif ini merupakan indikasi peserta pelatihan merasa lebih siap berhadapan dengan format tes dan mempunyai gambaran lebih jelas mengenai berbagai kemampuan yang diujikan dalam evaluasi kemampuan berbahasa Inggris ini.

Abstract

Vocabulary mastery is one of the important keys that bridge the subject comprehension. Understanding new concepts, ideas, and principles requires knowledge and competence in using words in various settings. The success of English learning in ESP will then contribute to the success of understanding other subjects in the field. Therefore, this research aims to investigate the problems, needs, and feasible strategies in improving vocabulary mastery in vocational higher education settings. The total of 303 freshmen students participated in this study, along with 7 English lecturers who were teaching in their classes. A vocabulary test, open-ended questionnaire, and focus group discussion (FGDs) were used as instruments. The results present the current state of students’ vocabulary level. Moreover, a number of strategies were also recommended by the lecturer in terms of students’ English vocabulary learning dan development. Future research directions are also presented

Abstract

The global transition toward a sustainable, low-carbon economy has significantly increased demand for green jobs, creating new challenges for vocational education institutions. However, many vocational curricula remain primarily oriented toward conventional industrial needs, raising concerns about their readiness to prepare graduates for green employment sectors. This study aims to analyze the readiness of vocational education, particularly at the polytechnic level, in preparing graduates for green jobs through a needs analysis and the development of implementation strategies. This research employed a mixed-method approach, combining qualitative and quantitative techniques. Data were collected through curriculum document analysis, questionnaires, interviews, and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) involving lecturers, program representatives, and green job experts. The study focused on Batam State Polytechnic (Polibatam) as the research context. The findings indicate that vocational education readiness for green jobs remains at an emerging stage. Key gaps were identified in the integration of sustainability principles within institutional vision and mission statements, learning outcomes, curriculum content, teaching practices, lecturer competencies, and eco-friendly infrastructure. Although moderate alignment with industry collaboration and national policy frameworks was observed, the overall implementation of the curriculum remains fragmented. Based on expert validation through FGDs, this study proposes a prototype model for green curriculum integration that emphasizes institutional, curricular, instructional, and collaborative strategies.

Abstract

In the digital era, education continues to transform, requiring schools to continually update their learning systems. The challenge in the digital era is ensuring that learning materials are delivered and understood well by students. However, many students still struggle to understand the material, as learning methods tend to be monotonous and conventional. Community service activities at Reliance School Batam seek to provide an alternative way to deliver learning materials through interactive learning videos. The implementation method begins with preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The results obtained from the learning videos are that students understand the material better because the learning videos are tailored to their needs and clarify concepts taught in class.

Abstract

     AbstractThe pressure supplied to the electrode has a direct impact on the quality of the weld joint, making it one of the aspects that significantly affects the spot-welding process. The electrode's short lifespan is a major problem in resistance spot welding for high-volume vehicle manufacturing since the electrode component is crucial to the spot-welding process. The Work Instruction specifies the electrode's parameters, which include an energy storage of 209 V and an air pressure of 0.25±0.05 MPa. A charge voltage of 178 V is used throughout the welding process, with a squeeze of 9–12 seconds and a compress duration of 12 seconds. The holder holds the electrode along a length of 21 mm, with the upper and lower electrodes separated by 12 mm. The relative humidity is 70% and outside temperature is 30°C. 400-grit sandpaper is used to clean the electrode surface following 500 welds. An investigation of how electrode pressure affects electrode longevity during spot welding was carried out. The study used SolidWorks software's static and fatigue simulation techniques, modified for field circumstances. The pressing force applied to the electrode and its effect on electrode longevity were examined using this program. With a damage percentage of just 0.002%, the results demonstrated that a pressure of 0.25 MPa had no discernible effect on electrode degradation within 2100 cycles. Under this pressure, the electrode may last up to 100,000,000 cycles before failing. The study's findings indicate that the pressing process has little effect on electrode longevity.Keywords:Electrode., Lifetime., Spot welding., Solidworks simulation  AbstrakSalah satu faktor yang sangat mempengaruhi proses las titik, yaitu tekanan terhadap elektroda, karena akan secara langsung mempengaruhi kualitas sambungan pada pengelasan. Komponen elektroda sangat penting dalam metode pengelasan titik, sehingga umur pakai elektroda yang pendek menjadi masalah krusial dalam pengelasan titik resistansi pada manufaktur mobil bervolume tinggi. Parameter yang digunakan dalam menggunakan elektroda ini tercantum dalam Work Instruction, dengan Energy Storage 209 V dan Air Pressure 0.25±0.05 Mpa. Pada proses pengelasan menggunakan charge voltage 178 squeeze 9-12s dan compress 12. Jarak antara elektroda atas dan bawah 12mm, holder akan menjepit elektroda sepanjang 21mm. Suhu ruangan 30℃, kelembapan udara Rh70. Jika pengelasan sudah 500 kali, elektroda diamplas permukaannya menggunakan kertas pasir 400 CW. Adapun penelitian yang dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penekanan pada elektroda terhadap masa pakai dalam proses pengelasan titik. Pada penelitian yang dilakukan pengujiannya akan menggunakan metode simulasi static dan fatigue pada software solidworks dan telah diseuaikan dengan kondisi dilapangan, penggunaan software ini digunakan untuk melihat gaya tekan yang diberikan pada elektroda yang dapat mempengaruhi umur dari elektroda. Hasil penelitian sudah dilaksanakan menunjukkan bahwa tekanan sebesar 0,25 MPa tidak berdampak signifikan pada kerusakan elektroda dalam 2100 siklus karena persentase kerusakan yang didapat sebesar 0.002% serta siklus pakai yang didapatkan dengan tekanan tersebut bisa mencapai 100.000.000 untuk bisa membuat elektroda tersebut rusak. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa umur pakai elektroda tidak dipengaruhi secara signifikan oleh proses penekanan.Kata Kunci:             Elektroda., Umur pakai., Las titik., Uji simulasi Solidworks

Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation of the project of forcing the Pancasila student profile (P5) to recycle inorganic waste in forming discipline and responsibility character in class VII students. This research was motivated by the fact that when students were in the school environment there were still those who violated school rules and regulations. This research uses a qualitative approach and qualitative research methods in descriptive form. The techniques used in this research are observation, interviews and documentation techniques. The results of this research show that the implementation of the project to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students (P5) by recycling inorganic waste in forming discipline and responsibility in class VII students at SMP Negeri 1 Binjai Hulu, has been carried out well and optimally by teachers and students at the school. Teachers' efforts to form a disciplined and responsible character in students through the implementation of the project to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students (P5) by recycling inorganic waste, namely, teaching, modeling, habituation, enforcing rules, guidance, punishment and rewards, supervision and advice. The influencing factors are, habitual factors, family factors, and environmental factors. In order to carry out this implementation, teachers play a full role in forming the character of discipline and responsibility of students at school. It can be concluded that the implementation of the project to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students (P5) by recycling inorganic waste in forming discipline and responsibility in students has been carried out well.
