Abstract

The development of interpretation method and its approach have given place for academician to discuss about soul through scientific approach. It raises debate which has not been finished yet. In one side, there is a claim that this approach results inappropriate interpretation of Al-Qur’an. However, in other side, this approach can result contextual meaning of Al-Qur’an. Soul, the mysterious thing in life, can be used to be an object of research in science. Therefore, the research on the interpretation of Al-Qur’an through scientific approach results the definition of soul and the detection of its place which can be explained through scientific research. Keywords: Soul, interpretation of knowledge, scientific perspective

Abstract

This article examines the social behavior and religious practices of the people of Temboro, Magetan, East Java. The religious behavior of the Temboro community is the result of the insertion of character education values based on the interpretation of Quranic texts (living qur’an) formed through acculturation. Temboro Village is dubbed as “Kampung Madinah” which has a culture similar to Madinah City in terms of dress, religious rituals and social ethics. With a qualitative method using an anthropological approach, this article is a living Qur’an research that defines character education values into the socio-religious and cultural practices of the Temboro community using reception theory, this research produces findings; first, the insertion of character education that shapes the socio-religious behavior of the Temboro community is adapted from the informal rules of kiai in Pesantren Al-Fatah Temboro. Character education in pesantren is socially constructed hidden in the community through acculturation to the recitation tradition, social ethics and daily habits. Second, the behavior and social religious attitudes of the Temboro community follow the interpretation of the Qur’anic text received from divine and human values. These values are controlled by religious authority and local wisdom.

Abstract

This article presents an examination of the social behaviour and religious practices of the people of Temboro, Magetan, East Java. The religious behaviour of the Temboro community is the result of the integration of character education values based on the interpretation of Quranic texts (living Qur’an), which have been formed through the process of acculturation. Temboro Village is known as “Kampung Madinah,” exhibiting a culture analogous to that of Madinah City in terms of dress, religious rituals, and social ethics. This article employs a qualitative method with an anthropological approach to investigate the character education values embedded in the socio-religious and cultural practices of the Temboro community. Reception theory is used to analyse the findings, which reveal that the insertion of character education shapes the socio-religious behaviour of the Temboro community. This process is shaped by the informal rules of the kiai in Pesantren Al-Fatah Temboro. The character education that shapes the socio-religious behaviour of the Temboro community is socially constructed and embedded in the community through acculturation to the recitation tradition, social ethics and daily habits. Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan mahasiswa IAIN Kediri ini berfokus pada pentingnya makanan halal dan thayyib di Malaka- Malaysia sebagai bagian dari upaya meningkatkan kesehatan dan kesadaran akan tradisi kuliner lokal yang sesuai dengan nilai-nilai Islam. Makanan halal dan thayyib tidak hanya memenuhi per-syaratan syariat, tetapi juga menekankan pentingnya makanan yang bergizi dan sehat bagi tubuh. Tujuan uta-ma dari pengabdian ini adalah mengedukasi masyarakat Malaka mengenai makanan yang sesuai dengan konsep halalan thayyiban, dengan menerapkan pendekatan tafsir tematik Al-Qur’an. Mitra pengabdian terma-suk pemerintah setempat, komunitas kuliner, dan pelaku usaha lokal. Metode pengabdian dilakukan melalui edukasi langsung, lokakarya, dan penyuluhan yang melibatkan masyarakat untuk memahami pentingnya kesehatan dalam pilihan makanan sehari-hari. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa partisipasi masyarakat dalam memahami dan mempraktikkan konsep halalan thayyiban meningkat, terutama dalam produksi dan kon-sumsi jajanan yang sehat dan bergizi. Program ini diharapkan mampu menjadi model bagi wilayah lain di Ma-laysia dan ASEAN dalam mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai agama dan kesehatan dalam kehidupan masyarakat sehari-hari.

Abstract

This article aims to reveal the implementation of the Qur'anic values indoctrination program at MTs Miftahul Falaah as an effort to develop character-based education in the madrasah. In their daily activities, students are required to participate in various activities that internalize the values of the Qur'an, including duha prayer, congregational zuhr prayer, recitation of Surah Yasin and several short surahs in class, study sessions of the book Waṣaya al-Abā’i li al-Abnā’i as well as Quranic reading and writing learning (BTQ). These habits are carried out according to a predetermined schedule, except for congregational prayers which are performed daily. This study focuses on two aspects: the implementation of Qur'anic values and their role in shaping the religious character of students.  Therefore, this research aims to reveal religious routines which are part of the living Qur'an phenomenon in the context of the educational environment, specifically in MTs Miftahul Falaah. The study involves field research and is examined using the living Qur'an approach. The results of this research indicate that the application of Qur'anic values in the environment of MTs Miftahul Falaah is a conscious and planned effort to prepare students to recognize, understand, internalize, and practice the values contained in the Qur'an. This initiative significantly contributes to the development of students' religious character by instilling obedience to Islamic teachings, be tolerant, and possess noble manners (akhlāk al-karīmah).

Abstract

The phenomenon of fatherlessness is defined not only as physical absence but also as emotional and educational neglect by fathers. This has become a problem in modern society. This study explores how the Qur'ān, through the story of Luqman, provides insights and guidance to overcome this problem through the lens of maqāṣidī interpretation from the perspective of Abdul Mustaqim. Using the thematic interpretation method, this study attempts to analyze the related verses using content analysis. The findings reveal three main messages: first, society should not be fixated on socio-cultural stereotypes of gender roles, but should return to Qur'anic principles that are applicable across time and place (ṣāliḥ li-kulli zamān wa makān). Second, fathers are urged to adopt an open-minded approach by challenging rigid cultural norms and actively engaging in parenting and education. Third, there is a need to reconstruct fathers' mindsets regarding cause-and-effect relationships-recognizing that neglecting emotional engagement may encourage children to seek attention from the external environment. This research emphasizes the importance of strengthening the father-child bond and contributes to a theoretical framework for educational interventions rooted in Qur'anic values.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji peran Tafsir Maqashidi Ibnu ‘Asyur dalam meredam radikalisme melalui studi kasus polaritas masyarakat akibat kontroversi Ahok. Penelitian bertujuan menganalisis penerapan prinsip maqashid al-shariah dalam menyelesaikan konflik sosial yang berakar dari penafsiran tekstual ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an. Dengan metode kualitatif dan studi pustaka terhadap al-Tahrir wa al-Tanwir serta dinamika sosial pada masa kasus Ahok, penelitian menemukan bahwa pendekatan Maqashidi yang menekankan keadilan (‘adalah*), kemaslahatan (maslahah), dan konteks historis (asbab al-nuzul) mampu mereduksi dikotomi eksklusif seperti “mukmin” vs. “kafir.” Fokus pada tujuan syariat—memelihara agama, jiwa, akal, dan martabat—menjadi fondasi untuk mengembangkan wacana inklusif yang menyelesaikan polarisasi. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa revitalisasi tafsir berbasis maqashid dapat merangkul masyarakat majemuk, menyeimbangkan nilai spiritual dan duniawi, serta mengatasi radikalisme dengan pendekatan yang holistik dan adaptif.
