Abstract

This study examines the impact of globalization on Indonesia's economic growth, focusing on both positive and negative impacts. Globalization, characterized by the integration of global markets, has enabled Indonesia to participate in international trade, attract foreign direct investment (FDI), and access advanced technology, all of which contribute to economic expansion, especially in the manufacturing, technology, and infrastructure sectors. This research employs descriptive analysis using secondary data from reliable sources such as the World Bank, Bank Indonesia, and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). All studies show that FDI and economic growth have significantly increased Indonesia's GDP, created employment opportunities, and expanded local industries. However, globalization has also had negative impacts, such as environmental degradation caused by the exploitation of natural resources, a growing economic gap between rural and urban areas, and the decline of local culture. This study highlights the need for policies that support the growth of local industries, particularly small and medium- enterprises (“UKM”), while protecting the environment and upholding Indonesian culture. The study shows that while globalization offers significant opportunities for economic growth, strategic governance is needed to mitigate its negative impacts and ensure inclusive and sustainable growth.

Abstract

Drug trafficking is a serious problem that continues to threaten public security and health. The government is required to develop a more effective strategy in overcoming this problem, one of which is by utilizing technology. This research aims to evaluate the role of the BOSS (BNN One Stop Service) application as a tool to help the government in reducing drug trafficking. The research methods used include collecting primary and secondary data through literature studies, searching for various related information, as well as analyzing drug case data obtained from the BOSS application. The research results show that the BOSS application is able to increase the effectiveness of monitoring and preventing drug trafficking through integrated data collection and analysis. This application not only enables early detection of suspicious activity, but also increases public participation in anonymous reporting, thereby expanding the scope of surveillance. These findings indicate that the use of technology in the BOSS application has great potential to strengthen government efforts to tackle drug trafficking and create a safer environment.

Abstract

Globalization has induced substantial changes across multiple facets of life in Indonesia, encompassing social, economic, and cultural dimensions. This study seeks to examine the effects of globalization on social inequality and poverty in Indonesia. The results demonstrate that globalization generates significant opportunities via access to global markets, foreign capital, and cutting-edge technologies. Nonetheless, these advantages are not uniformly allocated, leading to increasing societal inequalities. Communities possessing access to education, technology, and economic resources are more adept at leveraging globalization, but marginalized groups, such as the rural impoverished, often fall behind. Transformations in economic frameworks, urban development, and the impact of global culture intensify regional and socioeconomic disparities. While globalization can alleviate poverty via economic expansion, its advantages frequently favor particular demographics, therefore exacerbating the disparity between the affluent and the impoverished. This study underscores the significance of inclusive and equitable measures to alleviate the adverse effects of globalization. The government must improve access to education, technology, and economic opportunities for marginalized people while bolstering regional development to promote equality. Effective management of globalization can facilitate sustainable development and mitigate social inequality in Indonesia. Without sufficient action, globalization threatens to intensify inequalities and poverty within society.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of e-money usage and financial literacy on the consumption behavior of accounting students in Batam City. E-money as a digital payment method has become increasingly popular among the younger generation, while financial literacy plays an important role in effective personal financial management. The study uses primary data collected from questionnaires distributed to 97 accounting students in several universities in Batam, as well as secondary data from interviews with 10 accounting students regarding e-money and financial literacy. The results show a positive correlation between high financial literacy and wise financial management, which in turn influences students' consumption behavior. Additionally, the use of e-money plays a significant role in facilitating transactions and changing consumption patterns. Simultaneously, all three variables have a significant impact with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 38.5%. The findings are expected to provide insights for relevant stakeholders in designing more effective financial education programs and promoting the use of e-money among students.

Abstract

Poverty and economic inequality pose substantial issues for numerous emerging nations, with an estimated 712 million individuals globally residing in extreme poverty as of 2022. This article analyzes the impact of public policy on these concerns, with case studies from Indonesia, Brazil, and India. This research employs literature review methodologies to analyze several implemented policies, including conditional cash assistance, enhanced access to education, health services, infrastructure development, and economic empowerment initiatives. Conditional cash transfer programs, exemplified by Indonesia's Family Hope Program and Brazil's Bolsa Familia, have demonstrated efficacy in enhancing access to fundamental services for impoverished populations. Conversely, implementation obstacles, including limited institutional capacity and inadequate oversight, frequently obstruct policy achievement in underdeveloped nations. This study concludes that effective public policy necessitates a multifaceted strategy involving resource redistribution, the creation of economic possibilities, and enhanced access to education and healthcare. This research aims to offer insights for other developing nations by examining the policies enacted in these three countries, so facilitating the creation of more inclusive and sustainable public policy interventions. These findings underscore the significance of the government's involvement in empowering impoverished communities through systematic and sustainable measures to foster equitable development and mitigate inequality.

Abstract

This study looks at government initiatives to fight poverty in Indonesia. One important aspect of the poverty reduction strategy is the availability of accurate poverty data. This study uses a qualitative methodology. Research findings show that PKH, KIP, KIS, MSME Empowerment, and Rastra are some of the initiatives undertaken by the government. Rapid population growth, low education levels, rising unemployment rates, and income distribution. The poverty rate in Indonesia fell from 25.90 in 2023 to 25.22 in 2024. This indicates that some government initiatives have been successful. The government is still working to reduce the extreme poverty rate to zero by 2024. Uneven poverty is a factor in poverty. According to the report, there are 281,603,800 poor people in Indonesia. One of the challenges in reducing poverty is Indonesia's large population.
