Abstract

This study aims to understand the Representation of violence and juvenile delinquency in the anime series Tokyo Revengers. This study uses a qualitative approach with semiotic analysis of Charles Sanders Peirce in the form of sign, object, and interpretant. Where researchers conducted an analysis by selecting each scene that contains scenes of violence and juvenile delinquency, then photographing each scene of violence and juvenile delinquency contained in the Tokyo Revengers anime series. selecting each scene that contained scenes of violence and juvenile delinquency. The results of this study show that in the anime series Tokyo Revengers there is violence both physical violence and verbal violence. Physical violence in the form of hitting, kicking, slapping, stomping, hitting using blunt weapons. As well as verbal violence in the form of rude speech, threats, shouts, swearing with harsh words, and also fighting sheep. There are also forms of juvenile delinquency such as fighting, smoking, underage motorcycle riding without equipment, bullying, stealing, and prostitution. Where violence and juvenile delinquency that occurs is a form of symbolic interactionism.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to understand the framing of the word “Ethics” used by Anies Rasyid Baswedan in the coverage of the third and fourth presidential candidate debates in the online media Metrotvnews.com and Republika.co.id in 2024. This research uses a qualitative approach with Murray Edelman's framing analysis method, which is an analysis of categorization, miscategorization, rubrication and ideological categorization. Data collection uses primary data in the form of research and documents and secondary data obtained through selected information as data obtained from books, scientific articles. The results of this study show that the online media Metrotvnews.com accentuates Anies Rasyid Baswedan as a leader who is critical of Prabowo Subianto's ethics so that it can form a positive image in the eyes of the public, while the online media Republika.co.id accentuates criticism of Anies from the chairman of the PAN DPR faction Saleh Partaonan Daulay, framing Anies regarding his inconsistency in talking about ethics. Because according to Saleh, Anies is a person who talks about ethics but does not show ethics in his actions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis makna pesan yang terkandung dalam lirik lagu “Lagu Syantik” karya Siti Badriah menggunakan pendekatan semiotika Roland Barthes. Lagu dangdut kontemporer ini menarik untuk dikaji karena menggambarkan konstruksi makna kecantikan dan identitas perempuan dalam budaya populer Indonesia. Pendekatan kualitatif digunakan melalui metode analisis semiotika yang meliputi tiga tahapan: denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos. Data diperoleh dari observasi terhadap lirik lagu, wawancara dengan pencipta lagu (Yogi RPH) serta salah satu pendengar, dan ditunjang dengan studi literatur dari jurnal-jurnal komunikasi serta kajian budaya populer. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada tingkat denotasi, lirik “Lagu Syantik” menampilkan sosok perempuan yang merasa cantik, manja, dan ingin diperlakukan istimewa oleh pasangannya. Pada level konotasi, kecantikan digambarkan sebagai ekspresi diri, kepercayaan diri, serta bentuk kasih sayang yang tulus, bukan sekadar ajang pamer. Sedangkan pada tingkat mitos, lagu ini menegaskan ideologi budaya tentang kecantikan perempuan sebagai simbol nilai sosial, kekuasaan dalam relasi romantis, serta representasi feminitas ideal dalam masyarakat. Dengan demikian, lagu “Lagu Syantik” tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai hiburan, tetapi juga menjadi media komunikasi yang merepresentasikan nilai-nilai sosial dan ideologis mengenai peran perempuan di era digital. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa musik dangdut memiliki potensi besar dalam membentuk persepsi budaya dan konstruksi identitas gender di masyarakat.

Abstract

This study discusses the analysis of framing in news reports on the online media Tempo.co and Detik.com, using the framing model theory of Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicky. Framing in news reports can be seen in how journalists strategize in compiling, narrating, writing, and emphasizing facts. Through the framing analysis by Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicky, a fact can be categorized through framing using four main structures: Syntax, Script, Thematic, and Rhetorical. This study was conducted to examine the framing of news coverage regarding the pig head terror case targeting Tempo journalists, as reported by the online media outlets Tempo.co and Detik.com. The purpose of this study is to understand how these media outlets framed the terror case. The research approach used is qualitative, employing the framing analysis method developed by Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicky. The data used for this study is primary data obtained through non-participant observation techniques from the online news portals Tempo.co and Detik.com. The results of the study show that there are differences in the framing of news by the online media Tempo.co and Detik.com, particularly in the amount of news coverage, differences in perspective, and the use of visual elements or photos in the presentation of news.
