Abstract

Optimalisasi perawatan pengabut bahan bakar mesin induk di atas kapal dilakukan agar kinerja mesin optimal. Pada penelitian ini metode yang digunakan adalah metode diskriptif. Masalah yang dihadapi adalah perawatan terhadap pengabut bahan bakar sudah dilakukan, tetapi belum optimal yang ditandai dengan sering terjadinya asap hitam yang dihasilkan oleh gas buang (exhaust gas), dikarenakan kurangnya ketersediaan suku cadang (spare part) yang disebabkan karena sering terjadinya pengiriman suku cadang dari perusahaan yang terlambat datang. Solusi yang ditawarkan adalah invetarisasi pemakaian suku cadang, membuat dan melaksanakan perencanaan perawatan dan pemeliharaan terhadap alat pengabut bahan bakar (injector) serta mengajukan pengadaan suku cadang yang cukup sesuai jadwal perawatan.

Abstract

A refrigeration machine is a device used to transfer heat from indoors to outdoors to make the temperature of the room lower with the aim of cooling/preserving food. Cooling machines on MT ships. Kuang, when the ship was sailing, experienced that the optimal temperature was not reached, so it was necessary to observe this problem. So that action can be taken so that similar problems can be resolved and do not happen again. This research is based on a case study conducted on the MT ship. Kuang. The method that the author uses in collecting data is the observation method, namely a data collection method by making direct observations of the research object, an interview method with the author communicating with technicians regarding the problem being handled, as well as a literature study method, namely collecting references contained in relevant books, journals and studies. Approach to problem analysis using a qualitative descriptive method. From the results of the discussion carried out by the author, it is known that the optimal temperature was not achieved due to freon leaks in the evaporator pipe, dirty oil separator, dirty condenser and sea chest, and the cooling machine door not being tight. This is the impact of lack of maintenance on the cooling machine (refrigerator) and the cooling machine is quite old.

Abstract

Ships are water transportation tools used in the sea, rivers, or lakes for various purposes such as transporting goods, passengers, and fishing. Ships generally use power from engines, such as diesel engines to drive the propellers that propel the ship in the water. The problem experienced by the author when carrying out sea practice for one year (July 2023 - July 2024), on the main engine of the MT. Transko Bima ship is the entry of coolant into the cylinder, which can have a negative impact on the performance of the main engine. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the causes of the entry of coolant into the main engine cylinder on the MT. Transko Bima ship. The research method used is a case study with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were obtained through direct observation, interviews with engine crews, literature studies and documentation during sea practice on the MT. Transko Bima ship. The results of the study showed that damage to the exhaust valve seat was the main cause of the entry of coolant into the cylinder. This problem has an impact on the engine experiencing corrosion, water hammer, and can cause further damage if not handled immediately. Repair efforts include replacing damaged components and routine maintenance of the cooling system to prevent overheating. This research is expected to contribute to ship engine crews in handling similar problems and improving the reliability of ship operations.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mensosialisasikan keselamatan kerja pada nelayan serta memberikan penjelasan tentang pengelolaan hasil tangkap ikan oleh nelayan. Pendekatan dilakukan dengan metode ceramah materi dan sosilaisasi penggunaan alat-alat keselamatan pelayaran. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pengetahuan yang mendalam kepada para nelayan khususnya nelayan desa Margorejo Kecamatan Cepiring Kabupaten Kendal, agar dapat menganstisipasi keadaan darurat selama dalam pelayaran dan setelahnya bisa mengolah hasil tangkapnya untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pangan dan pemenuhan kebutuhan ekonomi yang lainnya.

Abstract

PT. Pertamina appointed the MT ship. Karmila becomes a bunker ship, which is useful for supplying MFO fuel to Pertamina's ships and Pertamina's charter ships operating in the Dumai port area. So that the cargo pump plays a very important role in the fuel supply process. Obstruction of the discharge process will result in a decrease in the performance of the cargo handling process which will hamper ship operational activities. The method used is a case study with a qualitative descriptive analysis approach. Data collection obtained by direct observation at MT. KARMILA which is a ship owned by PT. PERTAMINA and direct interviews with the ship's crew. In addition, data sources are also obtained from the instruction manual, SOPs on board and references from articles related to pumping rates. The results of this study state that the problems that occur when the cargo supply bunker discharge is caused by several factors such as difficulty in adjusting the pumping rate for the supply bunker according to pipe capacity, the temperature increase of the electro motor cargo pump (overheating), the high initial load so that the generator is unstable, damage to the connection hose to the supply bunker. These things cause problems when the cargo discharge process for supply bunkers. One solution to overcome these problems is to control the rotation of the electro motor cargo pump using an inverter so that the pumping rate can be controlled as needed so that excess load and pressure can be avoided.

Abstract

The case study on the tugboat award 1 experienced problems with the propeller which made it possible to be out of balance. The purpose of this research is to find out the causes of unbalanced propellers on ships and how to overcome them. The use of research methods using observation, interviews and data analysis by observing, reviewing and analyzing objects or problems that will be examined directly so that the data obtained is objective because the author experienced it himself and was at the ship docking location when the work of the propeller was not perfect. From the data obtained, then an analysis of descriptive qualitative methods was carried out. The results of this study state that the unbalanced propeller is caused by fouling, erosion, cracks, and deformation of the propeller blades. Possible triggering factors include long absence of maintenance, old components, and negligence in operation. An unbalanced propeller if not handled immediately is feared to cause damage to other components such as damage to the stern tube which results in leaks and can endanger the ship.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui respon kerja dari unit gas detector dalam memonitor terjadinya kebocoran gas yang bisa berakibat fatal bagi manusia .dengan latar belakang terjadinya kegagalan dalam proses pendektesian kebocoran. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara melakukan pengetesan dan pengujian  secara langsung terhadap pembacaan sensor gas detector untuk mengirimkan sinyal terhadap modul sensor gas detector. Penelitian dilakukan dikapal MT.SC.Commander LVII di STS kalbut Situbondo dengan pokok masalah terjadinya perubahan nilai setpoint pada modul pada unit cargo panel dan Unit   accomodation part gas detector panel berakibat pada respon pembacaan kebocoran gas LPG. Kesimpulan yang didapat  pergeseran nilai atau berubah nya nilai persen (%) akan berdampak pada pembandingan antara masukan dan keluaran pada sistem gas detector, perlunya dilakukan penyetelan ulang /kalibrasi untuk mendapatkan nilai yang diinginkan antara masukan dari sinyal yang dikirimkan sensor gas detector dengan sinyal yang diterima oleh receiver modul gas detector. Kesalahan pemasangan pada terminal kabel pada gas detector yang berakibat muculnya protection indikator trauble lamp yang menandakan adanya masalah pada sistem sensor gas detector.

Abstract

Mesin bantu jenis mesin pendingin diatas kapal punya peranan penting dalam menunjang kelancaran operasi kapal, namun dalam pengoprasiannya sering mengalami bermacam masalah yang dapat mengganggu proses pendinginan bahan makanan di atas kapal. Bermacam jenis bahan makanan di kapal yang perlu di pertahankan kuwalitasnya dengan cara didinginkan dalam ruang khusus pada suhu yang berbeda sesuai dengan jenis bahan makanannya seperti daging, ikan, sayur dan buah. Untuk mendapatkan suhu yang berdeda pada setiap ruangan harus ada selenoid valve. Metode yang digunakan dalam studi ini adalah studi kasus dikapal, adapaun pengumpulan data didapatkan dengan cara pengamatan diatas kapal, studi pustaka dengan menelaah maual book dan diskusi dengan para crew diatas kapal. Dari data data selama observasi, studi pustaka dan wawancara kemudian dianalisa dan dirumuskan serta di kemukakan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil dari pembahasan ini menjelaskan bahwa pada sistim mesin pendingin terdapat selenoid valve yang berfungsi untuk mengatur aliran refrigerant cair ke masing masing ruangan yang harus dilakukan perawatan dengan baik agar berfungsi sebagaimana mestinya sehingga suhu pada setiap ruangan dapat tercapai sesuai yang di butuhkan, karena bila solenoid valve tidak dapat tertutup dengan rapat dapat mengakibatkan suhu ruang melebihi suhu yang di butuhkan sehingga dapat merusak bahan makanan khususnya jenis sayuran yang tidak tahan terhadap suhu di bawah nol atau suhu minus.

Abstract

Banyak perusahaan pelayaran membutuhkan galangan untuk melakukan perawatan dan perbaikan. Dok apung (floating dock) merupakan konstruksi alat apung tempat untuk memperbaiki kapal. Pelaksanakan docking kapal terdapat Crane floating dock sebagai proses bongkar muat. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui penyebab kerusakan yang memperhambat proses docking kapal, dan untuk mengetahui penyebab kerusakan yang memperhambat proses bongkar muat pada Crane Floating dock (dok apung). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pengumpulan data yaitu : metode observasi adalah melakukan pengamatan langsung terhadap subyek penelitian, metode wawancara adalah melakukan tanya jawab dengan crew maupun penanggungjawab dock, serta metode studi pustaka. Data yang peroleh kemudian dianalisis, dengan mendekatan analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil dari studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa terhambatnya proses docking kapal disebabkan oleh kerusakan pada pompa pembagi (electric valve actuators), dan terjadinya pembengkokan pada pipa penghubung. Dan terhambatnya proses bongkar muat pada crane floating dock disebabkan oleh keausan pada carbon brush dynamo, dan korosi pada wire rope crane floating dock.

Abstract

MT. MARLIN 88 is a type of tanker loaded with crude oil, tankers with dead weight above 20,000 tons must be equipped with an Inert Gas System, there are obstacles related to damage to the Inert Gas System when unloading crude oil, the purpose of this study is to determine the cause of the occurrence of Inert Gas System malfunction in MT. MARLIN 88. The data collection method used is direct observation in the field on the ship MT. MARLIN 88, interviews with the crew responsible for the inert gas system, and literature studies from various literatures. From the data obtained, then an analysis was carried out using a qualitative descriptive analysis approach. The results of this study concluded that the damage to the inert gas system on the ship MT. MARLIN 88 possible cause is the maintenance of the inert gas system in MT. MARLIN 88, has not reached its maximum results due to damage to the Oxygen Analyzer which resulted in the supply of inert gas required for the cargo tank to be high in O2 content. This may be influenced by the lack of in-depth understanding of some of the crew on board the inert gas system
