Abstract

Abstract

The low learning achievement of students is likely caused by students' difficulties in understanding the material and lack of motivation in learning. This can occur due to the learning being implemented not being in accordance with the characteristics of the students in the class. So it is necessary to look for new learning solutions that suit student characteristics. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) learning model on student learning achievement in class X of Al-Furqon Sanden IT Vocational School. The samples used were class X Culinary Arts with 25 students (Control class) and class The type of research used is quasi-experimental with a research design in the form of a Posttest Control Group Design. In this design, a posttest is given to both groups after being given treatment. Based on posttest data analysis, the results of the sig t-test value (2-tailed) show that the sig. (0.152/2) > 0.05, then ????0 is accepted and ????1 is rejected. So it can be concluded that the SSCS model has no effect on the effectiveness of mathematics learning. The results of the statistical group hypothesis test show that the average value in the control class is higher than the average value in the experimental class. However, the results of hypothesis testing using statistics showed that the SCSS learning model had no effect (significantly) on students' mathematics learning achievement. Keywords: Effectiveness; Search Solve Create and Share (SSCS) learning model; learning achievement.

Abstract

The ability to count is part of mathematics which can develop children's cognitive abilities. It is very important to develop the ability to count in children, because counting can be used in children's daily lives. The problem faced by children in their ability to count is that children lack skills in doing calculations. Lack of numeracy skills can cause low mathematics learning achievement. This research aims to examine the snakes and ladders game as a medium to help elementary school children improve their numeracy skills to solve math problems. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with data collection through observation, interviews and documentation. It was tested in three stages and involved nine children who had different numeracy abilities. The results of this research are that children become more skilled at doing calculations, learning becomes fun, learning activities become interactive, and motivation to learn to count increases. The snakes and ladders learning media can increase motivation to learn to count and solve math problems. Keywords: Snakes and Ladders Game, Numeracy Skills, Media

Abstract

The current generation of young people faces significant financial challenges in an increasingly volatile global economy, highlighting the need for enhanced financial literacy education. While the OECD has recommended the integration of financial literacy into school curricula, a notable gap exists in the development of age-appropriate financial literacy content that aligns with students’ cognitive and developmental stages. This study addresses this gap by evaluating students’ financial literacy knowledge, with a particular focus on integrating financial concepts into mathematics education. Specifically, the research targets financial topics that are accessible and relatable to upper elementary school students, exploring how these concepts can be integrated into existing mathematics curricula. The study involved students from grades 4, 5, and 6, with data collected through interviews that were transcribed and analyzed using NVIVO software. Findings indicate that topics such as exchange rates, foreign currencies, cash transactions, and digital payment systems resonate with students' existing knowledge and personal experiences. Furthermore, the study underscores the importance of introducing foundational personal financial management skills, such as distinguishing between needs and wants and promoting saving habits, from an early age. However, it also highlights that more complex financial concepts, including regulatory frameworks, consumer protection, and data security risks, are not developmentally appropriate for elementary students. The results of this research offer valuable insights into the practical integration of financial literacy into mathematics classrooms, with potential implications for curriculum development. These findings contribute to the growing body of knowledge on financial literacy education, providing a basis for selecting relevant financial topics for school curricula and fostering a more financially literate future generation.

Abstract

The management of household organic and plastic waste can be transformed into a productive activity if the community gains practical knowledge, simple technology, and hands-on experience. This community service initiative was carried out under the 2026 Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) Village Empowerment Program, focusing on an integrated approach: producing solid compost from organic waste, repurposing used plastic water jugs as plant pots, and using the compost to cultivate cassava, which serves as an alternative feed for catfish. The activities employed a participatory method involving presentations, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and evaluation. Data from 21 pre-test and post-test respondents showed an increase in the average score from 72.63 to 91.33; 80.95% of respondents improved their scores, while 19.05% maintained theirs. A two-tailed Wilcoxon signed-rank test confirmed a significant difference in scores within the paired group (p = 0.0156). The results demonstrate that integrating organic waste processing, plastic waste repurposing, and crop cultivation can serve as an effective learning package for community empowerment. Continued guidance remains necessary to assess the sustainability of these practices and their long-term environmental and economic impacts.
