Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan struktur, makna, dan fungsi mantra pengobatan tradisional Desa Kumun Mudik dan Kumun Hilir Kecamatan Kumun Debai Kota Sungai Penuh. Pendekatan penelitian adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Objek penelitian yang menjadi data dalam penelitian yaitu, mantra pengobatan, mantra tawo capo, mantra dipanah setan/kuping sakit, mantra luka bakar, mantra sakit perut, mantra kena racun, mantra penawar racun, tawa mantra semua penyakit, tawar terkena angin duduk, dan sakit gigi. Sumber data dukun atau orang yang mengerti mantra.Sebanyak dua informan yaitu, Mamok Yani dan Mamok HamdaniHasil dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mantra pengobatan tradisional di Desa Kumun Mudik dan Desa Kumun Hilir menemukan sembilan mantra dan masing-masing terdapat struktur, makna, dan fungsi mantra yaitu, ditemukan struktur irama (datar atau lembut) yang ditemukan irama sama,  rima (asonansi, aliterasi, sempurna, tak sempurna akhir, awal, horizontal dan rima vertikal), terdapat 10 bait dan 57 larik, serta ditemukan sembilan diksi. Selanjutnya, makna yang ditemukan di dalam mantra pengobatan tradisional masyarakat Kumun Mudik dan Kumun Hilir yaitu, makna denotasi dan makna konotasi. Fungsi mantra pengobatan tidak hanya untuk pengobatan melainkan digunakan untuk penangkal tubuh, acara rumah atau syukuran rumah yang mau ditempatkan, dan untuk pawang hujan, pembacaan mantra dapat memberikan rasa aman di lingkungan yang memungkinkan timbulnya marabahaya, pembacaan mantra dapat dipercaya mengusir roh jahat yang sering mengganggu kehidupan manusia. Abstract This study aims to describe the structure, meaning, and function of traditional healing mantras in Kumun Mudik and Kumun Hilir villages, Kumun Debai district, Sungai Penuh City. The research approach is descriptive qualitative. The objects of research that become the data in the study are healing spells, tawo capo spells, devil arrow arrow spells/painful ears, burns spells, stomach pain spells, poisoned spells, antidote spells, laughter X spells for all diseases, bargaining with the wind sitting, and XX toothache. Data sources are shamans or people who understand mantras. A total of two informants, namely, Mamok Yani and Mamok Hamdani The results in this study indicate that traditional healing spells in Kumun Mudik Village and Kumun Hilir Village found nine mantras and each of them has the structure, meaning, and function of the mantra, namely, rhythm structure (flat or soft) found the same rhythm, rhyme (assonance) , alliteration, perfect, incomplete ending, beginning, horizontal and vertical rhyme), there are 10 stanzas and 57 lines, and nine dictions are found. Furthermore, the meanings found in the traditional healing mantras of the Kumun Mudik and Kumun Hilir communities are denotative meaning and connotative meaning. The function of healing spells is not only for treatment but is used for antidote to the body, house events or house celebrations that are to be placed, and for rain handlers, chanting mantras can provide a sense of security in an environment that allows for distress. human life.

Abstract

Banjir bandang di Kelurahan Lambung Bukit, Kecamatan Pauh, Kota Padang pada 27 November 2025 menyisakan risiko penyakit kulit akibat paparan air tercemar yang berkepanjangan. Pengabdian ini bertujuan menginstalasi unit penjernihan air siap minum (wash station) guna memulihkan akses air bersih warga terdampak di Desa Batu Busuk RT 01 sampai RT 04, dan memberikan edukasi dan pelayanan penanganan penyakit kulit. Kegiatan berlangsung pada 28 Januari-28 Februari 2026 oleh tim mahasiswa Kedokteran, Profesi Dokter, dan S1 Keperawatan Universitas Jambi dalam program mahasiswa berdampak. Data klinis dikumpulkan sebagai karakterisasi kasus yang telah ditangani. Sebanyak 22 warga dengan diagnosis terbanyak dermatofitosis, dermatitis, skabies, dan kandidosis kutis, didominasi derajat ringan tanpa indikasi rujukan. Uji laboratorium air hasil filtrasi reverse osmosis dan ultraviolet menunjukkan kadar total coliform dan Escherichia coli sebesar 0 CFU per 100 mililiter mengindikasikan air yang dihasilkan memenuhi baku mutu Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan Nomor 2 Tahun 2023. Edukasi kesehatan kulit menggunakan leaflet diberikan kepada 30 peserta, terdiri atas 22 warga terdampak, 5 kader Puskesmas Pauh, dan 3 perwakilan kelurahan dengan pemahaman pada empat domain pengetahuan meningkat dari rerata 67,0% menjadi 89,7% pascaedukasi, sehingga program perlu dilanjutkan guna mempercepat pemulihan kesehatan kulit pascabencana.

Abstract

IL-6 has been shown to enhance collagen synthesis and prolong the fibroblast proliferative phase, potentially contributing to uncontrolled keloid growth. However, despite its frequent mention in the literature as a crucial factor in keloid formation, studies specifically exploring the molecular mechanisms of IL-6 in fibroblast regulation and its interaction with other cytokines within keloid tissue remain limited. This study aims to further investigate the role of IL-6 in keloid matrix formation. This study is an analytical study conducted cross-sectionally. The samples used were patients diagnosed with keloids histopathologically based on microscopic criteria. Clinical data were taken from medical records and microscopic and immunohistochemical assessments using paraffin blocks available in the anatomical pathology laboratory of hospitals in Jambi city. There were 36 cases of keloids, aged between 12 and 42 years, mostly in women (66.7%), occurring in the trunk area (77.8%) 30 cases of recurrence (83.3%). We found 24 cases (77.8%) with strong IL-6 immunoexpression. There were 3 cases (8.3%) with no immunoexpression. There was a strong correlation between IL-6 immunoexpression and gender (p=0.03), age(0.04) and recurrence (p=0.02). The role of fibroblast cells is very important for the process of collagen formation in wound healing. Abstract

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Patients with comorbidities have a higher risk of mortality compared to patients without comorbidities. Objective: This study aims to analyze the relationship between comorbidities and mortality in COVID-19 patients at Raden Mattaher General Hospital in Jambi. Methods: This study is an observational analytical study with a retrospective approach using a cross-sectional design. The minimum sample size was 133 patients with comorbidities and 133 patients without comorbidities. The study utilized secondary data in the form of medical records, and the analysis employed the Chi-Square test. Results: The study sample consisted of 294 patients. Regarding sample characteristics, the largest age group was 56–64 years (27.6%), and the sample was predominantly male (54.4%). The most common comorbidities were diabetes mellitus (21.1%), hypertension (10.2%), chronic kidney disease (9.2%), hypertensive heart disease (5.4%), acute kidney injury (2.4%), and tuberculosis (1.7%). The proportion of patients with a deceased status was (15.3%) Bivariate analysis results indicated an association between comorbidities and mortality among COVID-19 patients at Raden Mattaher General Hospital in Jambi, with a p-value of 0.006 (p < 0.05). Conclusion: There is an association between comorbidities and mortality in COVID-19 patients at Raden Mattaher General Hospital in Jambi.

Abstract

Lymphatic filariasis remains one of the most neglected tropical diseases, characterized by complex transmission dynamics involving parasites, vectors, hosts, and environmental determinants. Understanding the periodicity of Brugia malayi and the molecular confirmation of potential vectors are crucial for optimizing control and elimination strategies in endemic regions. Objective: This study aimed to characterize the transmission dynamics of Brugia malayi by analyzing its microfilarial periodicity and confirming vector species through molecular identification. Methods: A cross-sectional field study was conducted from April 2017 to May 2018 in Banyuasin District, South Sumatra. Peripheral blood samples from humans and domestic cats, as well as adult mosquitoes, were collected and examined microscopically for microfilariae. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) targeting the yACA gene of Brugia spp. was used for molecular confirmation. Microfilarial periodicity was assessed through hourly finger-prick sampling over 24 hours and analyzed using the Aikat and Das formula. Results: Two of six human subjects in Sedang Village were positive for Brugia malayi microfilariae with an average density of 150.3 mf/mL, while one cat from Muara Sugih was positive for Dirofilaria repens. PCR detected Brugia malayi DNA in two Mansonia spp. samples (I4 and I8) with 93–95% identity to reference strain MG030487.1. The periodicity exhibited a dual pattern diurnal (peak at 15:00) and subperiodic nocturnal distinct from the typical nocturnal rhythm reported elsewhere in Indonesia. Conclusion: The detection of dual periodicity and molecular confirmation of Brugia malayi in Mansonia spp. highlight potential adaptive transmission patterns influenced by local ecological conditions in Banyuasin’s wetland ecosystems.
