Abstract

Students has many problems in reading comprehension are lack of focus on student understanding and making the class passive by teacher, students lack of motivation and students vocabulary difficulties to overcome these problems. Teacher implement know, want and learned (KWL) strategy to  enhance students’ reading comprehension. The purpose of  research analyze students’ results in reading comprehension towards the use of KWL strategy and to reveal students’ perceptions towards the use of KWL strategy in reading comprehension. In this research conducted at the eveleventh grade of one of senior high schools in academic 2022. The reseacher  use qualitative clasroom action  research (CAR) as the method of  the research in which to identify and to solve the problem on  students’ reading comprehension. In this clasroom action research which consided of  two cycle and each cycle consisted of  four phases, they are planning, acting, observing and reflecting. To collect and analyze the data the reseacher gained the information from observation, questionnaire and based on the result of questionnaire students have a positive perception in reading comprehension using KWL strategy. The students’ result in pre-test and post-test support the data collected, the result the pre – test 1.480 mean was 44.8 in percentages 44,8%  and  post – test 2.180 mean was 66 in percentages 6,6%. Meanwhile, in this research there is an improvement of students’ reading comprehension by using KWL strategy.

Abstract

Da'wah, or Islamic preaching, has expanded into cyber media. This article aims to analyze the use of cyber media for da'wah, focusing on media space, media documentation, and media objects, as exemplified by Ustaz Abi Azkakia's live streaming of Mobile Legends on YouTube. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach, the research incorporates literature studies, video documentation, and analysis of media features. The data findings reveal three key aspects: First, the optimization of YouTube as a media space by Ustaz Abi Azkakia for live streaming and uploading da'wah content, including features such as video uploads, shorts, and live streaming. Second, in terms of media documentation, Abi Azkakia effectively engages players by integrating worship and moral values into content, using visually appealing thumbnails, promoting polite behavior, facilitating live chat discussions, and advocating sincere, non-commercial donations. This approach includes personal narratives, stories of the Prophet and his companions, and references to the Al-Qur'an and Hadith. Third, regarding media objects, this article observes an interactivity trend with a modest increase in likes and comments, while the duration of content shows a fluctuating trend, and overall broadcast frequency tends to decrease.

Abstract

Pelatihan pelayanan prima (service excellence) dan keterampilan komunikasi bagi pengelola Aryakibands Land dirancang untuk meningkatkan kualitas layanan wisata berbasis komunitas. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan evaluatif dengan mengukur perubahan kompetensi peserta sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan pada tiga ranah utama: pengetahuan konseptual, sikap profesional, dan keterampilan praktis. Data dikumpulkan melalui survei, observasi, dan wawancara mendalam. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kompetensi rata-rata sebesar 34–37% pada seluruh indikator yang dinilai, termasuk pemahaman service excellence, kesopanan, kesediaan melayani, kemampuan komunikasi, pengelolaan media sosial, kepercayaan diri, dan kemampuan mengatasi masalah. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa metode pelatihan berbasis simulasi, role-play, dan diskusi interaktif efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman teoretis sekaligus keterampilan praktis peserta. Dampak jangka panjang diharapkan mampu memperkuat citra positif Aryakibands Land, meningkatkan kepuasan pengunjung, dan memberikan kontribusi terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi serta pembangunan sosial berkelanjutan di tingkat komunitas.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan mendokumentasikan kebutuhan dan aspirasi siswa disabilitas dalam mengakses pendidikan tinggi, sekaligus mengidentifikasi hambatan yang dihadapi. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik diskusi kelompok terfokus (FGD), kegiatan ini melibatkan guru dan siswa di dua Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB) yang mewakili daerah urban dan rural. Hasil FGD menunjukkan adanya aspirasi kuat dari siswa disabilitas untuk melanjutkan pendidikan, khususnya ke program vokasi yang relevan dengan minat dan bakat mereka. Kendati demikian, terdapat kesenjangan signifikan antara aspirasi dan realitas. Kedua SLB menghadapi tantangan ganda, yaitu kurangnya akses pendidikan tinggi yang ramah disabilitas, khususnya perguruan tinggi di daerahnya, untuk mengakomodasi keterbatasan kemampuan siswa disabilitas yang mayoritas harus didampingi keluarga. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa pendidikan inklusif tidak hanya menuntut akses fisik, tetapi juga kesetaraan informasi dan dukungan sistem. Sebagai luaran, pengabdian ini merekomendasikan perlunya kolaborasi antara perguruan tinggi dan pemerintah, membuka akses perguruan tinggi lokal yang ramah disabilitas, menyediakan jurusan vokasi inklusif, dan menjalin komunikasi secara berkelanjutan dengan SLB baik di wilayah urban maupun rural untuk keberhasilan pendidikan inklusif.

Abstract

Geoghraphical conditions had an influence through the dialect, vocabulary and syntax used by people. Islamic Boarding School was a place where people go to looking for knowledge whose come from come from different palace and region. This reseach purposed to analyze the students' Regional Dialect; its influence and its correlation toward students speaking achievement. The subjects of this study were students of Islamic Boarding of Santi Asromo which located in West Java – Indonesia.In obtaining an actual data, the researcher used descriptive qualitative method. Observation, Interview and Documentation were used as instruments. After data have been analyzed, the result showed that the speaking ability of Santi Asromo Islamic Boarding students were influenced by their own Regional Dialect. It can be said that regional dialects have a correlation with the students’ speaking achievement. In the last, this study suggests that the English teacher/ dormitory principle should provide a workbook and suitable strategy to finalize the regional dialect influence faced by students in learning Speaking.
