Abstract

Rimpang kunyit putih banyak dipergunakan pada pengobatan tradisional dan industri farmasi karena mempunyai kandungan senyawa flavonoid dan polifenol. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah sediaan masker peel-off bersifat sebagai antioksidan dengan konsentrasi ekstrak etanol rimpang kunyit putih 10%, 20% dan 30%. Pembuatan ekstrak dilakukan dengan metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 96%. Pembuatan formulasi standar sediaan masker peel-off dengan ekstrak rimpang kunyit putih menggunakan bahan dasar polivinil alkohol, Hydroxyl Propyl Methyl Cellulose (HPMC),triehtanolaminea (TEA),gliserin,metil paraben,propil paraben dan akuades. Evaluasi sediaan yang dilakukan  meliputi uji organoleptis, pH, homogenitas, daya sebar, waktu kering, iritasi dan pengujian aktivitas antioksidan menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Visibel dengan metode DPPH berdasarkan nilai pemerangkapan radikal bebas (nilai IC50).Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa sediaan masker berbentuk setengah padat berwarna kuning tua hingga coklat, berbau khas rimpang kunyit putih. pH yang dihasilkan 6,0-6,3, sediaan homogen tidak ada butiran kasar, daya sebar 5,1-5,5 cm, waktu kering 14-16 menit dan tidak menyebabkan iritasi. Hasil pengujian antioksidan menunjukkan bahwa masker peel-off dengan ekstrak rimpang kunyit putih memiliki sifat antioksidan sebesar 99,94 (µg/mL), 83,21 µg/mL dan 60,88µg/mL pada konsentrasi ekstrak 10%,20% dan 30%. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah ekstrak rimpang kunyit putih (curcuma zedoaria roscoe) dapat diformulasikan menjadi masker peel-off .Ketiga formulasi masker memiliki sifat fisik yang baik dan memiliki sifat antioksidan dalam kategori kuat. Masker peel_off yang memiliki nilai antioksidan terbaik adalah formulasi F3 sebesar 60,88µg/ml.

Abstract

Introduction: Managing consumable medical materials involves coordinating activities to ensure they work well together, aiming for effective and efficient management. This ensures doctors always have an adequate supply of high-quality consumable medical materials to support quality services. Objective: This study aimed to describe the Utilization of Consumable Medical Materials at the Pharmacy Warehouse of Depo Rindu B H. Based on the 2019 Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Adam Malik Hospital Medan. Methods: The study utilized direct observation and interviews conducted from May to July 2019. Results: Expenditures in January, February, and March 2019 were 25,726, 22,332, and 24,503 units respectively. Distribution is facilitated through online prescribing and delivery. Observations indicated the use of storage systems such as First In First Out (FIFO) and First Expired First Out (FEFO), organised by dosage form, alphabetical order, and category. Conclusion: Procurement at the Depo Rindu B pharmaceutical warehouse at H. Adam Malik Hospital Medan during the 2019 period was by the applicable 2019 SOP

Abstract

Background: According to the World Health Organization, annually there are around 50.0-100.0 million cases of dengue fever worldwide, with 0.25-0.50 million of them being cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) which causes around 24,000 death. Objective: The study was directed at evaluating the knowledge and attitudes of mothers regarding dengue prevention in Punge Blang Cut, Jaya Baru. Method: A cross-sectional design was used in the study conducted in April 2019. Around 176 heads of families in the village were sampled. Data was collected through a questionnaire with the Chi-Square test at a significance of 0.05. Results: The majority of respondents had sufficient knowledge (46.6%), their mothers had a positive attitude towards dengue prevention (73.3%), and 52.3% of respondents took sufficient preventive measures. Conclusion: The majority of mothers have sufficient knowledge and have a positive attitude towards preventing dengue fever. It is recommended to increase public knowledge and awareness regarding the handling and prevention of dengue fever through appropriate medical and traditional methods.

Abstract

Siam Weed leaf plants contain high levels of flavonoids and tannins. These compounds provide antibacterial potential. This study aims to formulate solid soap dosage form of ethanol extract of Siam weed leaves and test the antibacterial activity of it against the growth of Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria. This is experimental research. Making the extract phytochemical screening test. Evaluation of the dosage form was done by organoleptic tests, homogeneity, pH, foam height, moisture content, irritation, stability, and antibacterial activity tests using the well method. The results showed that solid bath soap dosage form from the ethanol extract of siam weed leaves could be formulated into soap dosage form which had a pH in the range of 9.2 – 9.8, high foam that was stable and did not cause irritation to the skin of volunteers and tested for antibacterial activity on bacteria. Staphylococcus epidermidis with a concentration of 10% 8.84 mm, 15% concentration 10.56 mm and 20% concentration 12.11 mm. The conclusion showed that solid soap dosage form of ethanol extract of Siam weed leaves (Chromolaena odorata L.) could be formulated and fulfilled the requirements after being evaluated and the antibacterial effectiveness of Staphylococcus epidermidis was the best at a concentration of 20% (strong).

Abstract

Ambon banana peel contains flavonoid chemical compounds that can moisturize facial skin. Flavonoids are powerful antioxidants. A sheet mask formulation of Ambon banana peel extract that can be used more practically and is able to moisturize facial skin. This study aims to formulate a mask sheet preparation containing ethanol extract of Ambon banana peel as well as better skin maintenance for four weeks of treatment and measuring the moisture content of the skin. The research method used is an experimental method, namely the extract is obtained using the maceration method, then formulated into a sheet mask preparation, consisting of glycerin, butylene glycol, sodium polyacrylate, nipagin, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castrol oil, aquadest, perfume, and banana peel ethanol extract. Ambon with concentrations of F1 (1%), F2 (3%), F3 (5%), F4 (7%), F5 (9%), respectively. As blank (F0) sheet mask preparation without the addition of extract. The preparation is evaluated including homogeneity test, pH test, stability test, irritation test, Moisture effectiveness test using Moisture Checker and preference test. The treatment is carried out for 4 weeks by applying the mask twice a week. Data obtained from the analysis using the SPSS program. The results showed that the ethanol extract of Ambon banana peel can be formulated in a homogeneous sheet mask preparation, does not change color and remains stable in 4 weeks of storage with a pH of 4.6 - 6.6. Conclusion The ethanol extract of Ambon banana peel can be formulated into sheet masks with concentrations of 1%, 3%, 5%, 7% and 9% with a positive control ratio.

Abstract

Background: Hyperuricemia as an indicator of increased blood uric acid. The prevalence rate in Indonesia is not recorded with certainty. However, the prevalence of gout reached 655,745 people out of 238,452,952 people in Indonesia, ranking first in Southeast Asia. Sidaguri flavonoids have inhibitory power against Xanthine Oxidase so that they can reduce uric acid. Objective: The study was aimed at detecting the effect and correlation of Sidaguri capsule consumption (Sida rhombifolia L) on reducing uric acid in patients. Method: The study was conducted Pretest and Posttest on 22 patients with hyperuricemia with the Easy Touch GCU Instrument. Results: The results showed that the average uric acid level before the intervention was 8.37 mg/dL and after the intervention was 6.57 mg/dL. Conclusion: Sidaguri capsules have an effect on reducing uric acid levels in patients

Abstract

Background: Avocado seeds contain 15–25% oil and are rich in bioactive compounds such as alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and terpenoids, making them a potential natural ingredient for skincare formulations. Objective: This study aimed to develop a cleansing oil using avocado seed oil with varying surfactant concentrations to evaluate its effectiveness in removing waterproof makeup. Method: The oil was extracted from avocado seeds using the Soxhlet method with n-hexane, yielding 20% oil. Cleansing oil formulations were prepared using surfactant concentrations of 4%, 6%, and 8%, and tested for organoleptic characteristics, homogeneity, pH, irritation, viscosity, stability, user preference, and cleansing performance. Result: All formulations showed safe pH levels (6.4–7.0), no skin irritation, good physical stability, and were well accepted by users. The formulation with 8% surfactant demonstrated the best cleansing ability. Conclusion: Avocado seed oil is suitable for use in cleansing oil formulations, particularly when combined with higher surfactant concentrations, offering an effective and natural solution for removing waterproof makeup
