Abstract

Multimedia is a new concept and technology in the field of information technology where text, images, sound, animation, and video are combined on a computer to be stored, processed, and presented both linearly and interactively. This study aims to describe the implementation of interactive multimedia and to describe the success rate of class VIII in learning the Simple Present Tense. This study used a quantitative research approach, with a quasi-experimental type, and a randomized pretest-posttest comparison group design. The sample was class VIII-PK 1 as the experimental group 1, class VIII-PK 2 as the experimental group 2, using cluster random sampling technique. With this interactive multimedia learning method, it was hoped that the students’ ability in mastering English grammar could increase.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 berdampak pada perubahan tatanan pendidikan di Indonesia, yaitu dari sistem pembelajaran tatap muka menjadi sistem pembelajaran jarak jauh. Salah satu jenis pembelajaran jarak jauh adalah pembelajaran daring. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi kontribusi multimedia dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap pembelajaran daring dan menganalisis fungsi media pembelajaran alternatif (multimedia interaktif) pada masa pandemi Covid-19, dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif berbasis studi kepustakaan (Library Research). Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode dokumentasi yang berasal dari sumber pustaka. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis isi, yang mengadaptasi setiap sumber atau artikel yang digunakan dan membandingkan konteksnya dengan artikel lain baik dari buku, jurnal, maupun makalah penelitian lainnya. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa multimedia dapat digunakan sebagai sumber belajar untuk pembelajaran daring. Multimedia juga dapat meningkatkan minat dan motivasi belajar anak yang sering menurun di masa Covid-19. Proses pembelajaran tetap aktif walaupun tidak dilakukan secara tatap muka. Termasuk segala fasilitas dan dukungan untuk memastikan pembelajaran daring dapat dilaksanakan, mulai dari akses internet, perangkat seperti smartphone dan notebook, serta tersedianya sinyal yang memadai.

Abstract

Cognitive learning outcomes are important basic skills that students must master. Science learning must be designed so that it can optimally provide students with the cognitive dimension. The importance of cognitive learning outcomes is in contrast to conditions in the field. Students' cognitive abilities in science learning are still low, especially at levels C2, C3 and C4. Observation results at Ihsanul Fikri Mungkid IT Middle School show that students' cognitive learning outcomes are still below the specified average, namely 78. The aim of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of learning using the Argument Driven Inquiry model in improving junior high school students' cognitive learning outcomes. This research uses a quantitative approach of the Quasi Experiment type, data analysis is carried out using the Mann Whitney test, N-Gain test, and effect size test. The research results show that the Argument Driven Inquiry (ADI) learning model is effective in improving the cognitive learning outcomes of junior high school students with an N-Gain of 0,7444, which is in the high category.
