Abstract

Latar Belakang. Keluhan mata lelah atau disebut juga dengan astenopia adalah istilah gejala somatik atau perseptif yang terjadi setelah seseorang melakukan aktivitas membaca, bekerja dengan komputer dan aktivitas visual lainnya dengan jarak dekat. Gawai adalah perangkat elektronik yang dipakai sebagai alat komunikasi modern seperti smartphone, komputer, laptop, tablet. Kebiasaan menggunakan gawai secara otomatis akan menyebabkan pengguna berlama-lama menatap layar. Berdasarkan studi epidemiologi faktor risiko dari astenopia salah satunya ialah faktor durasi penggunaan gawai yang dimana intensitasnya meningkat selama pandemi COVID-19 dikarenakan penggunaan gawai dapat menunjang pembelajaran daring. Tujuan. Menganalisis hubungan antara penggunaan gawai selama pandemi COVID-19 terhadap kejadian astenopia pada mahasiswa di Universitas Tanjungpura. Metodologi. Jenis penelitian ini ialah analitik observasional dengan cross sectional. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 146 mahasiswa. Teknik penarikan sampel dengan total sampling. Instrumen riset digunakan kuesioner Visual Fatigue Index (VFI) dan penggunaan gawai yang dimodifikasi. Hasil. Bedasarkan hasil penelitian yang mendominasi ialah, mahasiswa menggunakan jenis gawai laptop dan smartphone sebanyak (84,6%), durasi penggunaan gawai sering ≥ 4 jam (71,2%), posisi penggunaan gawai duduk (71,3%), dan tampilan pencahyaan penggunaan gawai terang (84,6%). Kesimpulan. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan durasi penggunaan gawai selama pandemi COVID-19 terhadap kejadian astenopia pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Tanjungpura, namun tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara jenis, posisi, dan tampilan pencahayaan penggunaan gawai.

Abstract

Students tend to be at risk of experiencing mental health disorders. One example of a mental health disorder is Fear of Missing Out. This feeling of fear of being left behind will trigger anxiety and end up disrupting a student's academic performance, including medical students. As a result of the disruption of academic performance, it will end in academic stress. This study was an observational analytical study with a cross-sectional design. The research sample consisted of 168 medical students selected using the proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Variables were measured using the Fear of Missing Out questionnaire and the Student Academic Stress Scale (SASS). The analysis was conducted using the Spearman correlation test. Most students had high levels of FOMO (81,5%) and were not academically stressed (54,2%).The results indicated a significant positive correlation with a moderate strength between FOMO and academic stress among medical students in the Medical Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Tanjungpura (p = 0.000; r = 0.492).The novelty Examining the relationship of  FoMO with academic stress in medical students in a specific university setting that has not been widely studied. Focusing on a population with high academic stress makes these findings relevant for more targeted psychological interventions.

Abstract

Personality describes characteristics that are relatively permanent in individuals and will affect the behavior of these individuals. Personality is one of the factors that can affect a person's emotional intelligence. The low emotional intelligence of a person will have an impact on a person’s emotional mental cindition such as anxiety, stress, depression. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the Big Five personality and emotional intelligence in students of the Medical Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Tanjungpura University. The research method used in this study was an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The research population was students of the Medical Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Medical University who were selected using the cluster random sampling method with 169 subjects. Bivariate analysis using Spearman correlation test with SPSS 24.0The results by the Spearman correlation test obtained a significance value of 0.000 (Sig <0.05) for the relationship between the personality Big Five and emotional intelligence in students of the Medical Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Tanjungpura University. There is a relationship between the Big Five personality and emotional intelligence in Medical Study Program Students, Faculty of Medicine, Tanjungpura University.
