Abstract

The development of television media in Indonesia is increasingly creative. This is inseparable from the problems faced by the country and its people. One of the interesting television programs to watch is a talk show that discusses current issues wrapped in formal or informal concepts. Formal are those who attend speakers or guest stars to discuss serious issues such as political disputes. While informal is a discussion that contains many elements of entertainment or jokes. However, from these two concepts, the Mata Najwa talk show program presents an educational and entertaining spectacle. The host, Najwa Shihab, asks smart questions and sometimes comes with comedy. The concept in the Mata Najwa program is also a means of connecting the voices of the Indonesian people, as is the issue of the health minister which is difficult to ask for clarification regarding the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic. The Mata Najwa program provides awareness with satire in the form of an empty seat interview in the episode "Waiting for Terawan", This inspires the people to realize how important the case is, as well as an insinuation to the government. The purpose of this study is to find out the satire messages contained in the process of interviewing the "empty seat" in the episode of mata najwa "waiting for the terawan". The method used is content analysis in order to conclude the results of the discussion in the form of interviews conducted at the najwa eye event, not imaginary. Abstract

Currently, the inter-religious tolerance movement is being called upon, considering the many religious conflicts that have occurred in Indonesia. Tolerance is a form of respect and not imposing will on others. However, currently, there are still many cases of insulting other religions, both in terms of offerings or ways of worship. This happens because there is still fanaticism and radicalism which considers the teachings of one's own religion to be the most correct, considering the teachings of other religions to be heretical or infidel because they are different from their religion. This study aims to explain how ethics communicates with other religions. Literature research is used as a method in this study, namely by collecting and analyzing the interpretations of the verses used. The results of this study are QS. al-An'am (6): 108 gives advice to Muslims not to insult God and the teachings of other religions even though they are emotional or feel disturbed. Not only in cases of idols but also in other religions. On the other hand, Muslims must communicate in a polite and gentle way so that sympathy from other religions arises and good relations are established.

Abstract

The Musyarakah Mutanaqisah (MMQ) contract, as one of the increasingly popular financing products in Islamic banking, offers a unique alternative to asset ownership that is in line with sharia principles. This study aims to comprehensively analyze the MMQ contract, highlight its Sharia foundations, and identify and explore the issues that arise in its implementation in the field. The research methods used include literature review and qualitative analysis of fatwas issued by the National Sharia Council of the Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI), Islamic banking regulations, and practices observed in several Islamic banks. The analysis shows that, in theory, MMQ is built on three basic contracts that do not conflict with each other: the syirkah or musyarakah contract for partnership, the ijarah contract for lease, and the sale and purchase contract for transfer of ownership. The combination of the three forms an innovative financing structure. However, in practice, several crucial issues arise. One of these is the issue of al-Ijarah al-Mawsuqah bil-Bay', or lease followed by a promise of sale, which some contemporary scholars still debate its validity. Nevertheless, the DSN-MUI has issued a fatwa permitting this scheme under certain conditions and terms

Abstract

Abstract The trend of thrifting, or buying and selling used clothing, has become a popular global phenomenon, especially among the younger generation. This phenomenon is driven by various factors, ranging from environmental sustainability issues, economics, to lifestyle expressions. However, behind its popularity, thrifting raises various ethical and moral questions, especially when analyzed from the perspective of Maqasid Syariah. This study aims to examine the urgency of Maqasid Syariah as a comprehensive evaluation framework for assessing the thrifting trend. Using a qualitative approach and literature review, this paper analyzes the thrifting phenomenon by weighing the maslahat (benefits) and mafsadat (drawbacks) it entails. The findings of this study indicate that, based on an analysis using Maqasid Syariah, the thrifting trend has two contrasting sides. As a solution, thrifting aligns with the principle of hifz al-mal (preserving wealth) by offering affordable clothing and reducing textile waste. It also supports hifz al-bi'ah (preserving the environment) by promoting a circular economy. However, as a threat, thrifting has the potential to undermine macro hifz al-mal by jeopardizing the local textile industry. In addition, the aspect of hifz al-nafs (preserving life/health) can be neglected if used clothing is not sanitized, and can encourage israf (wasteful) behavior that is contrary to Islamic ethics. Thus, thrifting is a solution only if it is done ethically and responsibly. Keywords: Thrifting, Maqasid Syariah, Sustainability, Circular Economy, Islamic Ethics.
