Abstract

Abstrak  Bahasa Inggris adalah bahasa internasional yang digunakan hampir di seluruh bidang kompetensi dan pekerjaan salah satunya di dunia penerbangan. Banyak informasi dan aturan penerbangan menggunakan bahasa inggris namun seringkali istilah-istilah yang digunakan ataupun informasi yang diberikan dalam layanan penerbangan tersebut belum dapat dipahami sepenuhnya oleh masyarakat. Oleh karena itu, perlu diberikan pelatihan Bahasa Inggris yang bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan pemahaman tentang Bahasa Inggris penerbangan (Aviation English). Pelatihan ini dilakukan di salah satu yayasan pengembangan anak untuk anak-anak kurang mampu bernama Yayasan Pendidikan Sahabat Kota secara tatap muka dengan menerapkan protokol kesehatan yang ketat. Pelatihan yang diberikan meliputi pemberian materi Aviation English yang dilakukan secara atraktif dan interaktif dan evaluasi pelatihan melalui pemberian pretest dan posttest dan kuesioner sebagai tolak ukur keberhasilan penyampaian materi pelatihan. Dari kegiatan evaluasi pelatihan dapat disimpulkan bahwa materi dapat diterima dengan baik oleh peserta sebagaimana terlihat dari adanya peningkatan pemahaman peserta pada hasil nilai pretest dan posttest sebesar 15,35% dan kuesioner penyelenggaraan pelatihan sebesar 4,59 dalam kategori sangat baik. Kata kunci: bahasa Inggris, pelatihan, penerbangan, metode  Abstract  English is an international language that is mostly used in all fields of competence and work, one of it is aviation world. A lot of information and flight rules are provided in English, however, the terms used or the information provided in flight services cannot be fully understood by the public. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct English language training which aims to provide knowledge and understanding of aviation English. This training was carried out offline at Yayasan Pendidikan Sahabat Kota, one of children development foundations for underprivileged students, by implementing strict health protocols. The training provided was including the provision of Aviation English materials carried out in an attractive and interactive ways as well as evaluation of training through the provision of pretest and posttest as a measure of the success of delivering training materials. Based on the training evaluation activities, it can be concluded that the subject materials were well received by the participants as seen in the enhancement of participants' comprehension by the results of pretest and posttest scores of 15.35% and the questionnaire of training implementation of 4.49 in the category of ‘very good’. Keyword: English, training, aviation, method

Abstract

One of the factors less successful learning process in the classroom is that lecturers are less innovative in applying learning methods. Lecturers still use the classical method of discussion. For that, a learning innovation is needed by applying problem solving methods. The study used quasi experimental design. The research population is medan aviation polytechnic cadets amounting to 40 cadets consisting of 20 people control group and 20 people experimental group. The data collection techniques used include interviews, observations, questionnaires, and tests. The statistical analysis used is Pearson ProductMoment to test validity, Cronbach'sAlpha to test reliability, Lilliefors to test normality,Levene's to test homogeneity, and t test and to test differences and effectiveness. Based on the results of the difference hypothesis test using independent samples t test,critical thinking ability data shows the value of tcalculated>ttable (3,740 > 1,998) with a level of significance (0.000 < 0.05) and the value of cadet learning results shows the value of tcount>ttable (3,656 > 1.998) with a significance level of less than 0.05 (0.001 < 0.05). Meanwhile, the results of the effectiveness hypothesis test using one sample t test,critical thinking ability data showeda table >ttvalue (5,724 > 2.037) with a significance level of < 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05) and a cadet learning value showing a>ttable t value (6,009 > 2,037) with a significance level (0.000 < 0.05). So, it can be concluded that there is a difference in critical thinking skills and learning outcomes between those who use problem solving methods and those who use discussion methods. Problem solving methods are effective in improving critical thinking skills and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Small uncrewed aircraft have become one of the increasingly popular technological innovations and are widely used in various fields, including civil aviation. However, using drones also carries potential risks to flight safety and airport security, mainly when operating in the Flight Operational Control Area (KKOP) around the airport. Therefore, it is important to conduct effective socialization regarding the Small Unmanned Aircraft System (SPUKTA) regulations for airport security personnel to increase understanding of using small uncrewed aircraft operations for the public and workers.This community service research results show that the socialization of SPUKTA regulations to airport security personnel in the KKOP area at Silangit International Airport is done through training and counseling. Socialization includes an understanding of drone classification, flight restrictions in the KKOP area, licensing procedures, and emergency actions in dealing with drone operational disruptions, as well as detection and barrier technology to prevent the entry of unauthorized drones. Collaboration between aviation authorities, airport management, and security personnel is needed to continuously update and improve the socialization of SPUKTA regulations to maintain the safety and security of flight operations at Silangit International Airport.

Abstract

Medan Aviation Polytechnic is a civil service college under the auspices of the Ministry of Transportation, especially in the air dimension. Medan Aviation Polytechnic is equipped with various complete educational facilities. However, security issues arise when cadets try to exploit vulnerabilities in the area to escape the campus. The purpose of PIDS is to detect and provide early warning of infiltration attempts in the campus area. This system is designed to integrate with various technology components such as the web and telegram bots as direct notifications and warnings to security officers, thereby increasing the security of Medan Aviation Polytechnic cadets. The method used in this research is by conducting research design, tool design, providing tool components and conducting system testing when the tool as a whole has been completed. The results of this study indicate that the system runs according to the desired design, where notifications are made with documentation in the form of camera portrait images and live streaming with a USB Webcam integrated with Artificial Intelligence (AI). If there is movement detected, it will send the portrait results to Telegram and issue an alarm on the buzzer and live streaming can be accessed on the available website.
