Abstract

Breastfeeding is a crucial early stage in achieving a healthy and prosperous life for a child. However, some mothers, particularly among socialites and Generation Z young mothers, are reluctant to breastfeed due to concerns over changes in body shape, especially weight gain, leading them to choose formula milk as an alternative. This study aims to examine in depth the behavior of mothers who are reluctant to breastfeed for these reasons, using the Tafsir Shofwah At-Tafaasiir approach to Quranic verses related to breastfeeding. This article employs a thematic interpretation (tafsir maudhu’i) method with a library research approach. Data were collected from various literary sources, such as the Qur’an, tafsir books, scientific literature, journals, and relevant theses. The collected sources were analyzed through reading and quoting to formulate the research conclusions. The findings indicate that breastfeeding for two full years is a form of maternal responsibility and affection that should not be unilaterally discontinued without the husband's agreement and consideration of the child’s best interest. Breastfeeding is also beneficial for the mother's health, including reducing the risk of cancer and aiding postnatal recovery.

Abstract

This study aims to look at how the Al-Quranic Science and Tafsir (IAT) Department at Raden Fatah State Islamic University and Raden Intan State Islamic University are making it easier for students to do research. This type of research is library research with a qualitative approach. The method used in this study is descriptive, namely revealing data through a person's dialogue, either orally or in writing, and behavior that can be observed. Taking all of this into account, the study's results show that the way IAT students at the two universities do research is still the most common way to do research in libraries. This can be seen in some of their research, both in the study of themes, the thoughts of Mufassir, the study of the book of interpretation, and the method of the book of interpretation. While the methods used in their research are tafsir-related, they are analysis, comparison, and thematic. In the meantime, field studies or the living Qur'an have not been the most common way to do research. The classification of student research includes three things: thematic themes, comparisons, and character studies. Second, to strengthen the capacity of students in research, several activities are carried out, including training activities for writing scientific papers by strengthening research methods, followed by the practice of writing scientific papers through the writing class program. The goal is to help students improve their writing skills and successfully publish articles in national journals, as well as to publish anthologies and Bunga Rampai Books on Religion & Society, Revealing Various Phenomena of Tradition, and Religious Problems. IAT students also take part in an academic writing class called ATLAS (Academic Writing Class). The writing class training results in students being able to become resource persons at international seminars held in the PTKIN environment.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the characteristics of the modern Millennial and Alpha generations, as well as the emerging phenomenon of the Sigma generation, from a Qur’anic perspective using a thematic exegesis approach. Although these generational terms are not explicitly mentioned in the Qur’an, their social and psychological characteristics can be analyzed through fundamental Qur’anic concepts such as fitrah, amanah, moral responsibility, balance (tawazun), and social ethics. Using a qualitative research method based on a literature review, this study analyzes Qur’anic verses relevant to the discussion theme through an examination of both classical and modern Islamic literature. The results indicate that the Qur’an provides a comprehensive ethical framework for addressing the challenges faced by generations  in  the  digital age. The Millennial  Generation  is  characterized by adaptability and critical awareness, yet also faces risks of information overload and moral inconsistency, which the Qur’an addresses through the principles of accountability and trust. The Alpha Generation faces challenges in preserving fitrah amidst early exposure to technology, underscoring the urgency of values-based education rooted in Qur’anic teachings. Meanwhile, the Sigma generation reflects a strong level of individual autonomy, which is acceptable within the Qur’anic framework as long as it remains in harmony with piety and social responsibility. This study concludes that the Qur’an remains a relevant and dynamic source of ethical guidance in shaping the character of contemporary generations amid rapid social and technological change.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the interpretations of Imam al-Qurṭubī and Imam Wahbah al-Zuḥaylī concerning the verses on al-laghw as a path toward attaining Paradise (al-Firdaus) in QS. al-Mu’minūn verse 3, as well as to identify the similarities and differences between al-Qurṭubī’s interpretation and that of Tafsīr al-Munīr regarding al-laghw in the same verse. This study is a library-based research employing a comparative (muqārran) method. The research process begins with a general explanation of the concept of al-laghw in relation to attaining Paradise (al-Firdaus), followed by an analysis of the perspectives of the two exegetes. The findings indicate that the term al-laghw appears in eleven verses of the Qur’an and generally refers to futile speech and actions, or words and deeds that bring no benefit. Among its meanings are all forms of immorality and polytheism (shirk). The significance of this research lies in providing insight into how verses concerning al-laghw are interpreted from the perspectives of al-Qurṭubī and Tafsīr al-Munīr, the analytical approaches employed by both exegetes, and the Qur’anic solutions for avoiding al-laghw. It is expected that this study will serve as a scholarly reference that enriches collective understanding in fostering good moral character and avoiding reprehensible traits, one of which is al-laghw.
